in the best facilities available as Fifa will be introducing new regulation for homegrown talent. This is one reason, along with the current PLs rules on homegrown players on why Phil Jones (£16m) and Henderson (£16m rising to £20m) have cost so much for their respective new clubs. Fifa's new rule will introduce a system whereby nine players on every 18-man squad sheet must be homegrown Buried amid the eulogies for their president, Sepp Blatter, national associations at Fifa's congress this month voted in favour of new youth development measures. Fifa's player‑status committee, headed by the former Football Association chairman, Geoff Thompson, is holding discussions with national associations, the European Clubs Association and Fifpro as it works up the new rules. Domestic leagues have not yet been invited to have their say. Thompson told the congress: "We must use the qualities associated with the 6+5 concept [a proposal under which clubs would have been compelled to field at least six homegrown players] in trying to manage a workable solution." The 6+5 idea died a death amid opposition from clubs and, more importantly, from the European Union, which outlawed regulation according to players' nationality. The compromise agreement football struck with the EU was for eight players from every 25-man squad to have been developed within the fielding club's national association, which is now part of the Premier League rules. Until now, Fifa youth-development regulation has not impacted on team selection. But if talks on the new regulations develop as Fifa hopes, then it will. New legislation is expected to be only about a year away. No wonder Henderson and Jones have cost so much.

Actually, I think it maybe soon from what Mr Clarke has said so far: Clarke said if the proposal was passed the next six months would be spent on developing a system and ensuring it was fair and transparent. I suppose all will be revealed after the FL clubs meeting. I know for sure 2014 will be when UEFA's rule will commence.

I heard that even if passed, any new rules will not come into effect until the 2014 season.

Data Protection is a global issue, and other countries have more strigent rules!, e.g. Germany -
I've found Metacritic is a pretty good site to find out a bit about music. I agree with Phil though, you'll be hard pressed to find a radio station playing alternative music (i.e. not pop), the days of John Peel are long gone. Radio 6 was good at the start, but it's been a while since I listen to it.

I've burnt out one shredder with the back-log of confidenfial paperwork, but certainly worthwhile getting one but obviously not shredding in one mega session!
-
The same happen to me including all my wage slips from when I started work 25 years ago! Much depends if you keep them to refer to later, if not bin them. I've saved so much space and haven't needed the paper work. Anything to do with the tax man I keep for 5 years.

A friend went to legoland last summer and found the queing pretty bad. So what do the owners do - offer a device for a fee (i cant remember how much) so that you can queue virtually!

First time watcher. I hate production pop! Never going to watch that trash again. PS I wonder how many acts have been signed up (fortunately I didnt see all of it).

My refuse collection is great. In fact the 'green' collection is netting the council some money.

I agree with Sid, it's been one hell of a story. Not knowing what to expect next! I wouldn't want Saints to be run in the same way just so I can enjoy an FA cup win. To play fair and win means so much more, perhaps managing to compete in the PL for so long has created that rather than succumb to any means necessary to achieve.

They would have been astronomical if AA was going to do it but fortunately someone saw through that ruse.

Administration charges beyond what has been specified and the investigation in to the old company.

Nothing about not paying their dues as far as I can see: At the end of the nine month period the original legal entity, which traded as the Club, will be placed into Liquidation to enable the duly appointed Liquidators to begin their investigation into the affairs of the Club. Newco will continue to trade as the football club in the Championship and will be obliged to pay a contribution to enable a minimum dividend of 20 pence in the pound before costs and expenses to all unsecured creditors in full and final settlement of their debt. This obligation will be formalised by way of a binding sales and purchase agreement in consideration of the transfer of the business and assets to the Newco. Newco will be allowed a further period of 4 years and 3 months to pay the outstanding consideration into the Liquidation. Bit about salaries from a previous version (taken out of updated document): The Administrators have reviewed every cost centre of the Club in an effort to reduce expenditure, where possible. The biggest challenge was the salaries of the playing squad. Fortunately, nine contracts of the senior squad are due to expire at the end of June 2010, and a further six senior players are under loan agreements which are also due to expire. This will provide the Administrators the opportunity to reduce the Club’s current annual player salary commitment, of approximately £42 million, to a budgeted level of approximately £13.6 million by next season. This will be further reduced to between £8 and £10 million in the event that the Club remains in the Championship for the following season.

Perhaps next year... "The weather is much more changeable and there's a lot more uncertainty. There's no risk of the ash moving across the UK in the next day or so. "But there is a possibility that we'll see some volcanic ash towards the end of the week." Met Office.

A shame Blackpool couldnt hold on for 30 minutes for a win. They have brought something different to the negative PL tactics of those struggling to keep their PL status. Much will depend on which players want to go and if Holloway can replace with similar quality but I cannot see them being near the auto spots, maybe similar to Burnley this season. it'll be interesting to see how they approach a European campaign as well. Birmingham are screwed financially so will not be able to keep the quality. I can see them sacrificing Europe (if they are haven't breached UEFA financial rules) for a quick return especially if they get a decent manager, they could certainly get to the play offs.

There is still time yet, look what happen last season, the last minute rush but they still got players in and are still in the championship. The only good point for this year is the little money they have for players (unless they can find some money down the back of a sofa) since they only have Lawrence as a saleable playing asset to raise funds. Let's see who the blue few sign first and that will show the intent of the owner/s.

I thought he will be a free transfer this summer?

Jeez, well that brought back painful memories. It's strange, had we not capitulated against Villa, Boro and Everton I'm swe would have survived and then we would have missed out on our good fortune we have now.

I would prefer Brum and Blackburn to join them, we tend to do well against the 'bigger' clubs. I have mixed emotions with WHU, with family ties to the club but the p0rn barons deserve this with the many mistakes they've made this season, starting with employing AG and finishing with the way they dismissed him. They'll need to raise plenty of money (£30-40m) from player sales for them to enjoy a challenge next year without worring about the financies. But to many player changes and the wrong manager in and they are stuffed.
