From a purely football side, doubtful but if its used for other things -to promote other businesses then it can still be useful.

Go for the win, it's only one game, Puncheon should start though.

I wouldn't worry, subtly isn't his strong point.

To indicate the difficulty of advancing up the league these days, below is an extract on an article to see if anyone can knock Man Utd of their perch now Fergie has left, which I think can be extrapolated to the whole league: "Without oligarchs, sheikhs, American billionaires and huge broadcasting deals, the old top flight was far more unpredictable; in Ferguson's first five seasons at Old Trafford 10 different clubs (Everton, Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal, United, Nottingham Forest, Norwich City, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Leeds United) finished in the top four. These days money has a far greater influence on the pecking order. Is it a coincidence that the clubs with the three highest wage bills in the Premier League – United (£162m), City (£202m), Chelsea (£173m) – are all in the top three?" So unless there is the 3 or 4 players that make you sit up and say yes, good quality players in the right areas to upgrade, any advancement will be slow if we are depending on JWP and the other youngsters to take up the huge challenge with our current squad.

Perhaps another youngster... Burnley's England U21 right-back Kieran Trippier
-
Have they actually signed for next season (starting July 1st) or are they PFC players now?
-
That's why they are really pushing the fans to buy season tickets while the feel good factor is still there. Generating money is the focus atm. Otherwise, the better calibre free agent will not be available.

I heard he's not fit enough to survive the physical nature of the PL, so will be dead before the season is out.

My Player Twin - who do you look like?
Doctoroncall replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
oops... probably Bert Shelley... Ref! Sub! It looks like your operating system or browser isn't supported by My Player Twin. We're kitted up for: - Internet Explorer 9 and up - Chrome (PC and Mac) version 24 and up - Safari (Mac) version 5.1 and up Bring on one of these big names and they'll make a big impact on the game. If you don't you might not get the result you want. -
Where do YOU think we'll finish...

12th place. -
This summers dream signing would be??
Doctoroncall replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
Thanks Toks, I feel better with your guarantee, as I too don't think he has the right character to be a Saint. -
None, the PDT own fat pipes but have to pay the mortgage set by Robinson AND Portsmouth City Council which, as we have been informed is at a nominal rate, but have no evidence to back it up. This is why the PP are being used to pay the mortgage before the players and why they want the fans to buy more shares so they can meet the schedule in the coming years while setting a health wage of £1.1m per annum. Also if less than 12k fans turn up, their income projections need adjusting. Guy needs a good start to life in league 2... The pressure is on!

Where is St Chalet to scrub the last few posts not on topic?
-
As do I, but I still want a laugh now and again. I'm sure if they stick to a prudent fiscal policy the club will thrive and this thread will die.

I've just stuck a tenner on saints to get relegated
Doctoroncall replied to gr00031's topic in The Saints
Just missing time and place. -
Now if only someone else can put down their prediction as factually as that ;-) I was thinking that this would be the end of the thread, no more laughs now the PDT has final won the battle for the club and it will be run more as a business, but then I thought there are so many people involved this cannot end well. we'll see, just like the other times new owners have come in and made promises that were not kept and this thread will capture the hilarious moments of it all.

Because that is only a subset, as is WBA h&a and QPR home. I think Kraken has summed it up well, not relegation fodder but not quite mid table also rans.
-
I see some haven't changed their views... Admirable words from Guy but £1.1m will be blooming tight!! Mind you how many other lg2 clubs can pay that? They say that's outside other clubs?? who has more than that?? To me if they said if we increase the budget to say £2m would we accept a 10% rise in ticket prices. I would for sure. At least we'd be bankers for prpromotion so 10% rise in ticket prices equals £900k! Pompey maths at work again.

But we're not in the championship?

I hope we kept the receipt.

That can form question 25. How much is the additional amount of PP from the PL and when is it due to be paid?
-
I don't think you understand, it was an idea which didn't get far enough to cancel, but don't let that portsmyth get in the way like the dock strikes, WWII tank commander, huge debt we have etc. Anyway, I wish PST well in their endeavour to be 100% fan owed and debt free going forward.
