Rather amused that Chris Sutton has Walsall down to win 2-1 in his FA cup predictions
-
I got mine back in time to see injury time. The bits that I did manage to see make me think we have a few good youngsters in there if they progress as we hope.

Me to. I want my 2 quid back:(

What was fan violence like in the 80s at the dell?

I missed this discussion when it originated all those years ago but I think some of you will be sorry to hear that Steve Jewett one of the original Wimpson and later on Portswood boys recently passed away . I was at his funeral at Stoneham East chapel and that was completely full with well over 100 people listening to the service outside . The wake was held at the muni golf course and there were some right old hard nuts from the late 60's and 70's there . -
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/67513747 I saw this and thought the ladies were getting a bit of national recognition ,but no. The goal is not even described correctly.

Surely if these teams are relegated .They will have the same problems as other relegated teams in that their best players would not want to being playing 2nd tier football.

2-0 victory .Top of the league

I have watched Ballard a fair bit and he is not an out and out CF . He is a poacher , he is not strong enough (yet) to be a target man who will hold the ball up for others to join in . I think if he was brought into the first team regularly now it would do him more harm than good .

Sheffield Weds 1-2 Saints - Match Thread

I would recommend staying over the night. Sheffield has got plenty of places to stay without breaking the bank!! The big challenge is likely to be the industrial action that is affecting train travel that week. You may be better travelling by coach from London on Thursday or Friday and returning by coach on the Saturday... Or hitch a lift or see if someone else on here can give you a lift!! You probably ought to identify where you are travelling from for this. I have hotel booked in Sheffield for Friday night so driving up with mates . Going to stop off in Brum on the way home on Saturday and watch Eastleigh play Solihull . -
See the club have been pushing tickets for Bournemouth on the O.S . Must admit that after watching Saturday I decided to go . Not in my usual place in Itchen North though . Cant stand the thought of the piss taking from the Dorset dicks . Mind you it would be funny if we stuffed them.

Southampton fans from Salisbury and Basingstoke

I can remember occasionally going to away games on football specials . We got on at St Denys and the lads from the west of the city were already on from Central . If I remember correctly the next stop was Eastleigh where all the local lads (yobs) got on and then Winchester again a fair number last stop before London was Basingstoke by which time the train was packed with drunken ,chain smoking hooligans , Happy days . -
Betfair : Leicester 6/1 Leeds 7/1 Saints 8/1 Midds 10/1

Ruud van Nistelrooy is available now 🤣

How do you know if your ticket is sold on the exchange ? Put mine on after the Fulham game and according to the booking website it is no longer available but I dont seem to see any refund in my saints account.

Forget the last 6 . None will be here next season .
-
Because most of the teams ,apart from the mega rich few are exactly the same as football always was before this premier league bullshit . Teams go through periods of being good and then not so good and often would climb 2 or 3 divisions in a few seasons and then drop back . At the moment Brighton are doing really well but within a season or 2 they will be where we are now because anyone who is good at there job (manager, players, recruitment etc) will be tempted away to a club willing to pay them more money . The sooner the european super league starts and we can have football back as it was pre premier league the happier I will be.
-
I have been watching on the F.A player . Anyone who thinks these lads are ready for first team football ,please think again .
-
We are always better when we start high tempo and take the game to our opponents. Like we were last season when we lost more games from a winning position than almost anyone else . We were all moaning then about a lack off fitness in our players and maybe that is still a problem ,which is why Selles sets up the way he does.
-
Usually agree with most of what you say Glenn but I am not impressed by Sully or Edozie . Great fun watching them take on and beat players but never any end result . I put them in the same category as Djenepo .
-
I was at the game , nothing to choose between the teams really . I think not getting promoted again is probably a blessing in disguise ,another year in the championship is probably needed.

Liverpool face competition from Manchester United to secure the services of recruitment guru Paul Mitchell, 41, who will leave Monaco this summer. (Mirror)
