  1. 52% of Voters voted to leave even though were were expecting to lose £4300 each..... we thought "yeah we can cope with that, the economy is not the most important bit" That has not changed. If there is an initial hit, we were expecting it, if there is not an initial hit its a nice job well done.
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong. But there has been no official mention of Les Reed anywhere on the official site since the end of the Season. are we 100% sure he is still involved?
  3. Doesn't sound anything wrong with that in the slightest...
  4. Let's take the sanitary towel vat rate as an example. Two years ago before the referendum, the budget was about to get voted down due to the 5% tax rate but being abolished. We apparently got concessions for variation of VAT rates from europe. A consultation on vat rates finally got published by the EU a couple of months ago proposing that member countries would be allowed flexibility of one product to be reduced from a low vat rate to zero, and two products to be lowered from the standard bar rate to the lower rate without other member states approval. This fudge May get voted in by all the other members in possibly another two years. A normal country can decide their own effing vat rates and make a change overnight.
  5. Of course they do. Not to the extent of their own constituency but they all care about the perception of each of their parties across the country. Especially in our current time where the three main parties have utterly atrocious leaders.
  6. two things to note in the official site article https://southamptonfc.com/news/2018-06-26/announcement-stuart-armstrong-southampton-signing 1: nice watch 2: no mention of Reed
  7. The House of Lords should be scrapped The Prime Minister is the leader of the political party with the most seats. To be able to choose the leader, try joining a Political party.
  8. Funny it's how the "less educated" who want an elected parliament, and the right to hold to account and potentially vote out an elected parliament. And it's the "educated" who want the dictat from unelected commissioners.
  9. Farage is an odious idiot, who did more harm to the Brexit cause that good. But there is nothing to say that this is true either way. Of course there are people who previously have made a lot of money at shorting the pound who are heavily involved in funding the "people"s vote campaign...
  10. Of course it's not frictionless, it's never going to be frictionless. But the benefits we get from it will outweigh the negatives. I think the best way of avoiding an Irish border is not to build one. See how easy that is. And if it snows I walk to work. It's something called adaptability.
  11. Well at least you've noticed people like Sandbach are "wingeing remainers" And have infiltrated sub committees. The Beis is as it sounds... Competely Bias.
  12. Good to know... Seeing as we don't have any customs delays with the rest of the world, there won't be any issues.
  13. What on earth do we have to deflect from? We're leaving the EU. We're trying to help cure the Stockholm syndrome developed by a small percentage of the electorate..
  14. I'm sure you'd get a more balanced view if you took the time to investigate it yourself. The internet is your oyster.
  15. but that's more to do with the apprentice Levy and the complete overhaul of the Apprenticeship system and funding from the Government in Aug 18. Its a complete misjudgement by the Government but not anything to DO with the EU withdrawal.
  16. In which case that they already have to deal with multiple different regimes in multiple regions. So what's the issue...
  17. It would take 8 years to adequately train up and set up a replacement wing construction facility for Airbus. Their release was purely EU propaganda
  18. If we can't get a contract agreed, then let's make a profit...
  19. What a quite fantastic dramatisation of actual events. Awards have been won for less.
  20. Though the way they express it is in a way I wouldn't choose to. In a free market economy companies are able to do the business where they want. Its for the government to create the systems to have the people in situation in our country for the best companies to employ.
  21. Armstrong's last season for Celtic = Van Dijk's first half of the season for us. Heart wasn't in it. At that fee he looks to be a bargain.
  22. I notice it is only remainers insisting on trying to imply the "extremist" nature on the people who voted for Brexit. It says more about you than it does about us who chose to vote to Leave the EU.
  23. https://www.jacklopresti.com/news/my-statement-regarding-airbus "Yesterday, I had a meeting at the Airbus offices at Filton,*with their Senior Vice President Katherine Bennett, with other Senior Airbus managers,*and with Richard Harrington MP, the Minister for Business and Industry. Other Aerospace companies such as GKN and Rolls Royce were also present.* Airbus, who made a profit reported to be approaching £4bn last year, were requesting further taxpayer funded support from Government.*They have also invited the Prime Minister*to open their new ‘Wing of the Future’ facility in Filton. At no point was Brexit mentioned by Airbus. Airbus seem to be in a state of confusion about their position. One could be forgiven for thinking that some EU member state governments were using Airbus to try and influence the UK Government into giving them what they want in any future Brexit deal. Airbus have used these heavy handed tactics before. They threatened to leave the UK if we didn’t join the Euro, which, thank goodness, we didn’t. During the Referendum they tried to interfere in the democratic process by writing letters to their employees instructing them how to vote. In recent months, they have tried to interfere in what was a perfectly legal and legitimate take-over bid by Melrose for GKN, saying:*“It would be ‘practically*impossible’ to give new work to the Aerospace and Automotive Energy Group should the turnaround specialist take it over." This was another ridiculous empty threat from Airbus. Yesterday, there were GKN representatives around the boardroom table. We also undertook a visit to the GKN Western Approach facility where there was a lot of discussion regarding further investment in our area from both GKN and Airbus, as well as further collaboration between the two companies. This morning I have spoken with*Government colleagues, who have confirmed that we are working closely with companies to understand their concerns ahead of leaving the EU and alongside industry will invest almost £4bn by 2026 to ensure the UK remains a world leader in civil aerospace. On Monday, I will be meeting Greg Clark, the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, to discuss Airbus’ statement. The employment and wellbeing of my constituents as Member of Parliament for Filton and Bradley Stoke will always be my*highest*priority, and I am struggling to believe this sabre rattling from Airbus is helpful or credible".
  24. Here's something else the BBC reported... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-44120525
  25. I read to "consider". Because they can "consider" anything they want.
