You must be confused. I was talking about Sundance Beast, who judging by his posts (and the fact he was subsequently banned) was clearly a nutjob. The poster who has admitted he has/had mental health problems is Nineteen Canteen. Apparently they are not the same person (unless of course you have evidence they are;)) But as successful as they were (and relatively speaking they were a success) they never managed to scale the heights that McMenemy did. Before Lawrie, we had relative success, with Bates leading us to the top flight and Europe for the first time in our history, and with Strachan, relative success again. Nothing to do with co-incidences. Whilst his success was never on a par with Paisley and Clough, your abbreviation of his successful tenure is somewhat rewriting history. I never thought of McMenemy as being up there with Clough, Paisley et al (and I must have missed him grouping himself in with those successful managers), but he was certainly a very successful manager with us, particularly given the status of Southampton as a fairly small provincial Club.

Well, some do call him Hong Kong Phooey due to his other activities;)

As worried as I was. We all knew the Championship was a rigourous, gruesome, war of attrition and yet we had two novices to the English game playing one touch and keppy uppies. OK, so I may have over exagerrated for dramatic effect, but our approach last season was all to cck right from the start. Sounds as though we may be starting in the right manner right from the off this season!!!

Here's a piccy:

I think Lawrie did indeed have a choice. He could have maintained what some would call a dignified silence in order to keep his reputation intact, or he could have broken that silence with the view that he was not willing to idly sit by and see the Club decline. There are merits (and faults) in both approaches, but I also agree that after breaking his silence and dipping his foot in the water, he then allows himself open to questioning. No problem with that at all, and that's the price he should have to pay for involving himself in the nitty gritty. But there is a world of difference between questioning his role & decisions, and some of thecriticism and accusations levelled on here (and that's before we get on to the multiple identified mentalist, Sundance/Flashman LOL;)).

Swann deserves some credit as well for his 4 wickets, including Clarke. Decent bowling in both innings for England which was the difference, with Anderson deserving the plaudits for his part in the first innings.
-
All over. Swann gets Johnson who plays all round what looks like a straightish one. Yesssssssssssssssss
-
Johnson's got to 50 and is looking to unleash a few slogs. Could be a fun few minutes.

I'm going Thursday................................. to the Far East!!!!!!!!! Gutted I won't be there, particularly as it's against Suzzex.
-
Freddie has his 5fer. Rudi calls a no ball, so with the 7th of the over Freddie clean bowls Siddell.
-
Swann just dropped him on a caught and bowled!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
And so has hauritz. Left one that came down the hill and cut back quite a bit from Flintoff. I was apprehensivce at the start of play, chilling out now:D:D
-
Get 'em up the Sports Centre I say. Up and down the hills, a few times around the steeplechase, then up and down the hills again, a swim across the boating lake and then some balance training on the trampolines!!!
-
I would just having them running until they puked. Quick drink. Then running again until they puked again. Quick drink. Then repeat.
-
I think you're right there, in that if it's going bad, then any stick will be used to beat a manager with!!!!!
-
I totally agree that is impossible to prove and am going on the hope that it might be of of some intangible benefit. It's just a personal thing in that I think it sends out all the right signals at a time when cohesiveness, team spirit and togetherness will be needed to get us moving forward.

There's a couple of blocks of apartments that would suit him well. One is above that cut alongside Junk overlooking Buddha Lounge and Orange Rooms. The other is the new block above the Lizard and opposite 90 Degrees. He wouldn't even have to leave his apartment, just kick back and log their coming and going;)
-
More like Upper Lordshill!!!! I know Lordswood and depsite how he likes to come across he is rather posh!!!!!!
-
Agreed, but how about if living down here increased the likelihood of that promotion?
-
And given the fragile nature of football and the total lack of sentiment which could see him binned at any minute (although fingers crossed he's here for some time as that would mean we're moving forwards), then I think you do have a point. I think his personal circumstances, particualry with reference to family, need to be considered, but I would still be happier if he moved down here for the reasons I outlined above.

It doesn't, but like having a pop at Claus, picking up Pardew for not shaking hands with people and setting up other popular(ish) figures etc etc etc, it makes great bait for a troll to use.

Speculator, Sundance Beast, Flashman at the Charge, Third Bear and a few others

And I have to say I'm with Lordswood and Duncan on this one. This isn't a normal business and the Football Club is a part of the fabric of this City. I think living near to the Club is important in order to ensure you have your finger on the pulse and get some empathy for the supporters and the wider community. I think it also demonstrates commitment to the players and staff. I was much happier with WGS living locally and integrating himself in the community (and undertaking pub checks), than I was with Burley lodging in a hotel and dashing back to his other pads whenever the opportunity arose.
