  1. LOL I'll raise you with 4 of us (1 posts on here) being chased down an alley to our hotel by a naked ladyboy riding a moped!!!!!!!
  2. OK, how about Bob Higgins??? Or failing that, Simon Clifford???
  3. Off that way at the end of the week (after a stop over in your neck of the woods), so will need to brush up on my Katoey spotting skills;) PS Take it from me, he never made that mistake, I bet he knew what he was taken on;)
  4. It certainly was, but there wasn't much in there that I didn't think would be relevant today (assuming it can be replicated of course).
  5. Geirges Prost is tied up at the moment, so how about tempting Malcolm Elias back (as he's been recently bumped out by Liverpool)??
  6. A good read, thanks for the link. At times this forum can produce some real nuggets of information.
  7. Apparently the nutjob got banned. No idea what for, but some of his ramblings were mentalist (as were his unslicited PM's he used to send out).
  8. I'd say it's on a par with that nutjob Sundance Beast!!!!
  9. Mark Robinson has been quoted as saying he expects Prior to be released and playing in the final. And losing at Arundel by 4 runs (although that flatters us somewhat) means we will be the underdogs. The toss will be crucial again.
  10. Thanks Ron. Must have missed that as the Club slid towards oblivion. Has anyone got any latest gossip on why he was put on gardening leave in the first instance??
  11. The 1991 Cup Final was the best for me as I had managed to see almost every match in the lead up to it. I can vaguely remember the Quarter Final (too drunk). I think it was Notts at home and we had one of those "boxes" in the Phillip Mead stand. There was some big argument when Terry was run out and Nicholas told Terry not to leave the pitch. The semi was at Edgbaston against Warwickshire and I can remember Aston Villa and Birmingham fans kicking off behind us, Hampshire fans in fancy dress behind one end and winning easily. Then the nightmare of the Final!!!! Chris Smith wasn't playing as he had left for Australia, Nicholas was injured and Surrey looked a big ask. Middleton steps in for Smith and scores a shedload, Ayling comes in for Nicholas and smashes a six into the Mound Stand?? and is there unbeaten in the darkness at the end to win the game in the last over!!!!!
  12. And I presume Hockaday had no chance at all either????? How about Henderson back to the youth teams somewhere?????
  13. You must be confused. I was talking about Sundance Beast, who judging by his posts (and the fact he was subsequently banned) was clearly a nutjob. The poster who has admitted he has/had mental health problems is Nineteen Canteen. Apparently they are not the same person (unless of course you have evidence they are;)) But as successful as they were (and relatively speaking they were a success) they never managed to scale the heights that McMenemy did. Before Lawrie, we had relative success, with Bates leading us to the top flight and Europe for the first time in our history, and with Strachan, relative success again. Nothing to do with co-incidences. Whilst his success was never on a par with Paisley and Clough, your abbreviation of his successful tenure is somewhat rewriting history. I never thought of McMenemy as being up there with Clough, Paisley et al (and I must have missed him grouping himself in with those successful managers), but he was certainly a very successful manager with us, particularly given the status of Southampton as a fairly small provincial Club.
  14. Well, some do call him Hong Kong Phooey due to his other activities;)
  15. As worried as I was. We all knew the Championship was a rigourous, gruesome, war of attrition and yet we had two novices to the English game playing one touch and keppy uppies. OK, so I may have over exagerrated for dramatic effect, but our approach last season was all to cck right from the start. Sounds as though we may be starting in the right manner right from the off this season!!!
  16. Here's a piccy:
  17. I think Lawrie did indeed have a choice. He could have maintained what some would call a dignified silence in order to keep his reputation intact, or he could have broken that silence with the view that he was not willing to idly sit by and see the Club decline. There are merits (and faults) in both approaches, but I also agree that after breaking his silence and dipping his foot in the water, he then allows himself open to questioning. No problem with that at all, and that's the price he should have to pay for involving himself in the nitty gritty. But there is a world of difference between questioning his role & decisions, and some of thecriticism and accusations levelled on here (and that's before we get on to the multiple identified mentalist, Sundance/Flashman LOL;)).
  18. Swann deserves some credit as well for his 4 wickets, including Clarke. Decent bowling in both innings for England which was the difference, with Anderson deserving the plaudits for his part in the first innings.
  19. All over. Swann gets Johnson who plays all round what looks like a straightish one. Yesssssssssssssssss
  20. Johnson's got to 50 and is looking to unleash a few slogs. Could be a fun few minutes.
  21. I'm going Thursday................................. to the Far East!!!!!!!!! Gutted I won't be there, particularly as it's against Suzzex.
  22. Freddie has his 5fer. Rudi calls a no ball, so with the 7th of the over Freddie clean bowls Siddell.
