I had to switch over as it was so cringeable watching him continually stare at the ground. Not the best interviewee. The montage they made up for him flattered him somewhat and made him out to be quote a deadly finisher!! Methinks the equivalent montage of his misses would take a lot longer to watch.

Firstly Nineteen says he only joined the forum this year and was never Sundance/Flashman etc etc etc and the Mods on here say that they have no knowledge of 19C being a reincarnation of a banned poster. Then straight after that Ponty announces that 19C was previously Sundance and that he was allowed back under an amnesty (so the Mods did know he was a previously banned poster after all;) but told us otherwise, ummmmmmmmmm). However, despite this announcement by Ponty, 19C still continues to claim he wasn't Sundance et al!!! Now he has admitted to being the previously banned posters. But now there are other members in the same household logging on???? And he still has other user names???? There is indeed enough material for an entire conference LOL. Anyone got the number of a good shrink:rolleyes: As for the OP, being honest I'd take Pompey's position over ours as the Premiership is where the money is and money does indeed make the football world go round!!!! If they're facing relegation come next Spring, then that's a different matter entirely!!!!!!

What a sad epitaph to probably the most diastrous seasons in the Club's history! Poortvliet comes across as naive and thoroughly overwhlemed by what he had taken on. Someone who was clearly out of his depth (despite the impressive CV LOL) and who should never have been given the chance. How bitter and twisted must he have been to be pleased to see us relegated. Wotte comes across as the slimey chancer only too willing to put his own interests before anything else. The Revolutionary Coaching Set Up is shown to be a sham from the start, with the two main protagonists not able to get along (even trying to get each other sacked six months in!!!!). The Club doesn't come out of it well, apparently moving the goalposts with regards Poortvliet's contract before he even started (as poor as he was, it's hardly advisable to undermine and p1ss of the manager before he even starts!!!!). And then we end with more evidence of Lowe's day to day involvement in team affairs, something as FF mentions was apparent to all apart from those so blind. Looking at that interview we were doomed from the start and it was inevitable we would go down both in the league and in the finance stakes. However, I certainly don't subscribe to the view that administration and relegation were inevitable immediately after the Sheffiled United game in 2008. It would have been a tough season (or maybe a tough few seasons) and we would certainly have had to a fight an uphill battle both on and off the pitch, but the arrival of Lowe, Poortvliet and Wotte (and Van Der Waals!!!) just consigned any chance to the dustbin as the Revolutionary Coaching Set Up (which now extends to include Lowe!!!!) showed what it was capable of!!!! Hopefully last season will be shown to be the lowest point in the Club's recent history and we will start to climb the Leagues again, even if it does take some time to do that.

TBF I don't see NC having the final say as anything problematic. The ultimate decision on buying and selling players will be determined by the CEO/Chairman who will either have to sanction the spending or call for funds to be raised. The CEO/Chairman shouldn't be involved in the grass roots stuff, so until NC starts interfering with team selections, training, etc etc etc, then no problems with me. I think what is being intimated in the interview is a million miles away from Lowe's micro management, meddling and interfering in fottballing decisions. That Dutch/Poortvliet interview about Lowe interfering in all footballing matters just highlighted what many of us had known and were concerned about for ages. Hopefully NC won't replicate the failings of the busted flush that is Lowe.

I wouldn't have a problem with a season of consolidation and bottoming out our recent decline. Upper mid table and a push next season would get the thumbs up from me.

It was indeed Faking It on Channel 4. The guy he mentored was a Chess Champion who didn't fool John Barnes, Dermot Gallagher and that woman from 5Live. Hopefully he can perform better turning some of our players in to the real deal!!!! Endemol are showing an equivalent version in Holland whereby they put a Dutch no hoper in charge of an English professional team to see if he can pull it off .........................................

I agree. Surely if we had asked for permission and they had rebuffed us, it would have been all over the press. Similarly, had they accepted our approach then I would have expected it to have been leaked somewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if he was tentatively sounded out by one of the other consortiums (has Jackson got a batphone to Tisdale as well as Reid??). On these things when managers in situ are in play, it tends to come out whilst it's happening (for a variety of reasons e.g. bumping up compensation, bumping up wages, to court popularity etc etc etc). It could of course be totally kosher, it's just I don't buy it.

I would suggest that apart from one individual who is intent on getting a reaction, then the vast majority of other posters would be of the same opinion. In fact, elsewhere on the board I detect quite a mellow (even if we're all concerned at recent performances) response & attitude amongst posters. There's a world of difference between having and espousing a different opinion and constantly seeking to provoke a reaction. Shame, as a good board and some decent posters have been dragged down somewhat (myself included of course;)).

Which then begs the question, why haven't the mods applied the follwoing from their own rules? If you are stupid enough to earn yourself a ban, be it permanent or temporary, don't attempt to register a new username so you can carry on posting. If we find out (which we usually do), your new username(s) will also be permanently banned. LOL. We took a few packs in coolbags, but considering we were on it from early doors combined with ending well into the evening, (judging by the darkness at the end) we ran out at some point. I was surprised how much we got in a few years back for the C & G as I thought they were clamping down on this. Gutted I'm missing this one as I've always enjoyed the rivalry with Suzzex (will be checking the interweb on a regular basis or expecting texts fromt those going). And talking about beer, I remember the Natwest Semi at Edgbaston and there was a sign saying "excessive amounts of alcohol will be confiscated". When we asked what was excessive, the steward said no more than 16 cans per person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And my comments were genuine as well, hell, I've even gone out of my way to provide you with an insight into the weather over there and how you shouldn't be put off by some statistics or websites. Please don't judge me by your own rather low standards. HTH

Oh I see. I was thinking you hand first hand experience as opposed to just surfing the net. Would have been a interesting conversation had it turned out that you knew what you were talking about;) If you had experienced the weather in South East Asia, then you would have found out that most of the rain comes in very short bursts (with most of it overnight). A very, very heavy downpour for 30 mins to an hour, very often as the day draws to an end which can make for a great way to end a day as you sit having a beer on the veranda watching the rain come down. Spectacular storms to watch, which very quickly blow over, cool the evening down, make everything lush and due to the high temperatures, there is pretty quickly no sign of the earlier storm. And even if it happens in the middle of the day, then you have to experience walking in 30 degrees along the beach or even swimming as the rain falls. A rather surreal experience. Rather than rely on statistics from websites, I much prefer to rely on my many experiences if that's OK with you, and my experiences of South East Asia in August have been brilliant.

Don't worry Michael Fish, I've travelled extensively throughout South East Asia over the last 10+ years so know full well the seasons. You'll find that whilst the Andaman Coast does get wetter through June - October, the Gulf Of Thailand has much better weather, particularly the Samui archipelago. Koh Samet is also OK and it's not until you get down to Koh Chang that you start to have problems again with the weather. That said, I have still had great weather on the Andaman side (Phuket, Ao Nang, Phi Phi and Lanta etc) right throughout August, just accept the regular 5:00pm storm and the odd day that might be washed out. Have been around Hua Hin, Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Phanghan many times throughout August and it's never been a problem so don't worry about me. Now of course Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, parts of South West Thailand and North West Thailand can get loads of rain in August, but you often find that this is one of the prettiest times to travel, particular if you're travlleing along the Tonle Sap, want to see the forests at their most lush and also partake in the festivals around this time. The Mekong in full flow and paddy fields as far as the eye can see are wonderful sights. Sometimes I have found the period around Songkran to be too hot and my time in the dust bowl that was Issan was actually too hot. Samet was the same over Easter and we often had to spend most of the day in the shade. What are you basing your experiences of the weather in Thailand on???

I would even wave the bar fines for sotonjoe. I'd tell the pervy Germans that she's good for all things, including doing their washing and housework. Nothing better than a tropical storm, whilst swimming in the sea or kicking back on the veranda. The only time it's not good news is when it trips out the satellite feed as it did in Gullivers, Bangkok when we were watching Saints v Blackburn in 2004. Saw Saints go one up, then it tripped out, when it came back up we were 2-1 down and then tripped out again. Then came back just as we were awarded a penalty, which Beattie tucked away to win 3-2!! A good evening that night and bumped into a big group of Saints fans from Chandlers Ford. Are you worried about the rain making your make-up run?

Not been to Salad beach before, so looking forward to it as it looks quite chilled out, but enough going on not to get too bored. Spent a couple of nights at Bottle beach a few years back in a really basic bungalow, think I've moved on from that now. The Elephant and castle is a trip to South East London for sure. As bad as it sounds, we had Sunday Roast before watching the Saints Man Yoo game back in 2002!!!!! Will have to work out when the Tests are on and get down to the Masons to at least say hello. LOL. Not if we win and want to get out alive. Those two brothers are rather tasty!!!!! Went there with Alex and watched the Saints v Man Yoo game where Beattie did his ankle in really badly. Did Deldago score first, but we still went on to lose. They were honorary Saints fans that day, I doubt they will be on the 8th!!! Anyway, my excuse will be that I doubt it will be live anywhere!!!!!
