  1. On the negative side this has been brewing for a while with performances and results showing a very worrying slide. We've been threadbare as a squad, at times devoid of ideas and seemed to be running out of steam. On the positive side we're ahead of where I thought we would be this season and are still top of the division. Just hard to take that it seems to be somewhat slipping away from us.
  2. Wouldn't want to be using D'urso as an excuse to hide our own deficiencies. He may be poor, but I doubt he was biased, sounds a bit Brightonish to be moaning too much about the ref. Been poor for a while and need to do something PDQ if we are to arrest the slide.
  3. Been saying the same for a while, in that our bench has looked very, very lightweight. When you're resorting to Holmes, Forte and De Ridder to win games then you're going to struggle.
  4. And a very shallow beach given the tides
  5. Very good, makes a change from the Hitler or Bollywood videos and the weird cartoony thing just added to it (along with the weird dubbing). Gave me a little chuckle.
  6. I think social media and an appetite for entertainment, gossip and scandal has meant that it might just be a little bit more headline nowadays, but the idea that it is only a recent phenomenon is somewhat rewriting history. That's not to say I agree with it and considering how much the game has changed (i.e. its become a lot more professional, physically demanding and in turn hugely rewarding) I would much prefer a more considered and responsible approach to alcohol and diet.
  7. I could easily recount tales from Joe Jordan letting rip in the Bedfords, Hurlock going mental in Captains Corner, Agboola getting put on his ar5e outside Boogies, Beattie being being dragged indoors by Davies and escaping a hiding outside his house in Ocean Village, Dyer and BWP getting nicked, McGoaldrought and his amazing flying kebab, Prutton being hurried away and escaping a battering for his letchy ways, Bridge and others giving it the big un in The Lizard Lounge, I won't even repeat what went on in Ayia Napa with half the squad a few weeks after Lampard and Rio were spit roasting girls. The idea that only now do we have a drinking culture is bedwetting stuff. It's been going on for years as young(ish) lads are treated like royalty, paid like bankers and worshipped like Idols.
  8. StuRomseySaint, followed up by Turkish and then repeated by Dune. It therefore is a fact.
  9. For a minute then I thought I'd stumbled on to the Ugly Inside board and been accosted by Stu and his self obsessed ramblings. His lack of self awareness seems to be rubbing off on a few others. LOL
  10. I think we have been struggling recently. 5 pts from 5 games is not the best form and performances on the pitch have been hit and miss. Hopefully it's just a blip and it doesn't take, away from our excellent form and results from earlier in the season, but we have been struggling in recent games.
  11. You do know when the goal drought will end don't you??????? Hopefully we'll score 4 in return though!!!!!
  12. Seriously????
  13. Asking for too much but any chance of Forest doing smething
  14. Is it last season in reverse,??? ie whenever we won it seemed as though Huddersfield would do the same, whereas this time around teams are failing to really capitalise on our slip ups!!!!!
  15. That can't be right, we've got 8 points out of a possible 21 from the last 7 games. No way is that 8th best. December saw 5pts from 5 games, which quite a drop in form, not a blip IMHO.
  16. For me the centre of the park always has a big say on games and last night we were outfought and outfought in that dept. Cork who I really rate was anonymous and just couldn't get going, whilst Morgan was nowhere near as dominant as against Palace. Don't know what that stats say, but thought City had more of the ball (particularly in the first half). Maybe they are the type of team who are our nemesis and will always dictate the game, but have to say December has not been kind to us. Over the moon to be where we are (initially I would have been happy with top ten), but as VFTT has said above I do fear we have run out of steam somewhat. A January shake up and a few new faces please.
  17. Fully back the manager over a player every day of the week, so if Adkins doesn't want him back then absolutely fine with me. And fair play to the Chairman for backing the manager as well.
  18. Fair play to City tonight, have to say they were worthy of the win. Not sure their disallowed goal was offside and they had at least as many chances as us. Lost it in the midfield where Cork went missing and Spiderman was overwhelmed. Lallana was off colour and I really just don't see why people rave about De Ridder. We really were quite poor and nowhere near as good as we played earlier in the season (but some of that was due to a hard working City side). Definitely need to regain our composure for the second half of the season and definitely need a couple of new faces (or get Chaplow back ASAP) Boxing Day we were good, but tonight's performance was back to the normal December performance. Not good at all.
  19. I remember that when it first appeared!!!!! Someone should have kept a list of all the players we were linked with: Drogba et al
  20. Or they do have access, but choose not to spend their lives surfing!!!!! The original announcement and timing was not the best advert for how to communicate with your supporters.
  21. Well there seem to be a fair few who don't think our ticketing arrangements are up to scratch (and the criticisms arent just restricted to this match). Personally I don't think they have been as proactive and as organised since Luker left, but that might just be a coincidence. Certainly don't think just having a free for all with such short notice for a high demand game is the best way of distributing tickets.
  22. Just as when Lallana signed a new contract, news like this is as warming as a new signing!!!! That said, I'm still hoping for a few new faces being brought in during the January transfer window.
  23. Well myself and a few others missed the late Thursday night announcement and only realised they were on sale (and almost sold out) when I looked at my phone on the Friday afternoon. Is it the norm for big demand games to have a late night announcement the evening before they go on sale??? Is it the norm for big demand games not to implement any sort of ballot/priority selling?? As for this morning, well they were always going to be overwhelmed, but they could have saved a few hundred people an unnecessary queue once it was obvious demand was going to out strip supply. None of the above are rocket science and could easily have been resolved.
  24. I've got two mates who have been to all but two always this season who haven't got a ticket.
  25. Judging by those who were up there this morning, I think it's a bit more than just suiting me, but thanks for your concern anyway. Of course any system of allocating tickets will not please everyone, but I do think if it's transparent, equitable and well communicated then it has a better chance of being respected. I just don't think this arrangement was, that's all. But feel to continue with your barbed posts, they're most appreciated. HTH
