  1. Asking for too much but any chance of Forest doing smething
  2. Is it last season in reverse,??? ie whenever we won it seemed as though Huddersfield would do the same, whereas this time around teams are failing to really capitalise on our slip ups!!!!!
  3. That can't be right, we've got 8 points out of a possible 21 from the last 7 games. No way is that 8th best. December saw 5pts from 5 games, which quite a drop in form, not a blip IMHO.
  4. For me the centre of the park always has a big say on games and last night we were outfought and outfought in that dept. Cork who I really rate was anonymous and just couldn't get going, whilst Morgan was nowhere near as dominant as against Palace. Don't know what that stats say, but thought City had more of the ball (particularly in the first half). Maybe they are the type of team who are our nemesis and will always dictate the game, but have to say December has not been kind to us. Over the moon to be where we are (initially I would have been happy with top ten), but as VFTT has said above I do fear we have run out of steam somewhat. A January shake up and a few new faces please.
  5. Fully back the manager over a player every day of the week, so if Adkins doesn't want him back then absolutely fine with me. And fair play to the Chairman for backing the manager as well.
  6. Fair play to City tonight, have to say they were worthy of the win. Not sure their disallowed goal was offside and they had at least as many chances as us. Lost it in the midfield where Cork went missing and Spiderman was overwhelmed. Lallana was off colour and I really just don't see why people rave about De Ridder. We really were quite poor and nowhere near as good as we played earlier in the season (but some of that was due to a hard working City side). Definitely need to regain our composure for the second half of the season and definitely need a couple of new faces (or get Chaplow back ASAP) Boxing Day we were good, but tonight's performance was back to the normal December performance. Not good at all.
  7. I remember that when it first appeared!!!!! Someone should have kept a list of all the players we were linked with: Drogba et al
  8. Or they do have access, but choose not to spend their lives surfing!!!!! The original announcement and timing was not the best advert for how to communicate with your supporters.
  9. Well there seem to be a fair few who don't think our ticketing arrangements are up to scratch (and the criticisms arent just restricted to this match). Personally I don't think they have been as proactive and as organised since Luker left, but that might just be a coincidence. Certainly don't think just having a free for all with such short notice for a high demand game is the best way of distributing tickets.
  10. Just as when Lallana signed a new contract, news like this is as warming as a new signing!!!! That said, I'm still hoping for a few new faces being brought in during the January transfer window.
  11. Well myself and a few others missed the late Thursday night announcement and only realised they were on sale (and almost sold out) when I looked at my phone on the Friday afternoon. Is it the norm for big demand games to have a late night announcement the evening before they go on sale??? Is it the norm for big demand games not to implement any sort of ballot/priority selling?? As for this morning, well they were always going to be overwhelmed, but they could have saved a few hundred people an unnecessary queue once it was obvious demand was going to out strip supply. None of the above are rocket science and could easily have been resolved.
  12. I've got two mates who have been to all but two always this season who haven't got a ticket.
  13. Judging by those who were up there this morning, I think it's a bit more than just suiting me, but thanks for your concern anyway. Of course any system of allocating tickets will not please everyone, but I do think if it's transparent, equitable and well communicated then it has a better chance of being respected. I just don't think this arrangement was, that's all. But feel to continue with your barbed posts, they're most appreciated. HTH
  14. From memory they announced on the Thursday that tickets would go on sale the next day and they quickly sold out. Being at work all day Friday I never had a chance to get down there or give them a call and the short notice meant it was impossible to arrange someone else to do it for me. As with today's quick sell out I think the ticket office haven't communicated this very well, plus would thought it should simply have gone to a ballot rather than a free for all.
  15. Are you sure you're not getting confused???? Wasn't the Denis Law backheel for Man City against United??? (and then didn't celebrat)
  16. Just back from SMS and didn't bother queuing considering the queue went around the Northam to the Kingsland!!!! No idea how many extra tickets we've got, but reckon quite a few up there aren't going to get one.
  17. I think there is most definitely a place in society to have a decent theological debate and for all opinions to be heard, but that is a world away from insulting people and being rude (as some have tried to point out in this thread). Given the part that religion plays in the history, culture and current way of life, politics and laws of this country I think it should most definitely be on the table with regards a healthy debate etc. One of the strongest atheist arguments is that organised religion does not have a monopoly on morality, respect, compassion and empathy, but I have to say some on this thread are letting the side down!!!!!
  18. Although your reply was erudite and factually correct, when dealing with the Dinlo Dune, you would have been better off with the shorter retort above!!!!!!!!
  19. As per my post last year, fox hunting is not a very efficient way of controlling the fox population, nor is it cost efficient (in fact the economic cost/benefit to the countryside of keeping a hunt going was one of the reasons used by The Countryside Alliance for opposing the ban). Lamping of a nighttime is an efficient and cost effective method of control. Done it for both foxes and rabbits and it's somewhat cheaper than keeping pack of hound and the trappings of a hunt ticking over. Fox hunting is primarilya social/cultural/sporting event, it's certainly not an efficient method of pest control. Arguing from that's angle only undermines the case for hunting.
  20. Deffo west ham away. Stadium announcer said there had been a death (and a delay - no abandonment) and the initial thoughts were of fighting and maybe a stabbing. It was only on the drive home that we learnt of the full tragedy
  21. Mum would be banished to use the last of her Green Shield Stamps in the shop on the corner whilst dad and I would watch the giddy printer. I reckon it's where Vodafone now is. Memories!!!!!!
  22. Turkish, did you not see the Art Of Stand Up last night on BBC2 last night???? Answers quite a few of your points and provides an insight about what might be deemed offensive to some and not to others. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/bigscreen/tv/episode/b018scn0/
  23. What about Sanchez Watt from arsenal?? Obika at Spurs is out on loan, Man City have two young forwards out on loan. Even Leeds allowed Paynter to go out. I'm not saying any of these would have worked or been available, not saying we werent going for broke to get someone in, not saying I dont have faith in Adkins, merely speculating on a message board that we're short up front and wondered what the thoughts of those in charge are/were??
  24. To put a bit of meat on the bones of this one I had lunch with someone well placed in the footballing world today and he said that the FA had written to 300 players to see if they would be willing to play!!!!!!!! Nothing like spreading your net wide!!!!!
  25. No they are not, just one person.
