  1. Alps I think you will eat your words re Ramierez just wait and see!
  2. Do we? not always? Ron Davies, Peter Osgood, Kevin Keegan, were all record buys not really **** though nor were Colin Clarke, Phil Boyer, Ted MacDougall, Alan Ball, Jimmy Case, Armstrong, Chris Nicholl, Ken Monkou all reasonably big money at the time. Lambert was big money for us too in league 1! I think our record is mixed no better or worse than most clubs!
  3. We may have been working on getting someone in for some time and he suddenly becomes available in which case it is a strategic buy and not a panic or you could be right and we take someone in on the spur of the moment. Using your argument Bale would be a panic buy for Real Madrid when in fact it has been on the cards for months!
  4. Wish I had the confidence you have after watching us! but I somehow havn't
  5. Palace easily putting to bed a ponderous Sunderland we laboured against just last week and Puncheon taking on defenders and creating the chances we have not managed in three games!
  6. Punch looking class for Palace now winning 3-1 against a Sunderland side we laboured long and hard against to get a draw at home!
  7. Puncheon and Palace showing the pace we are missing!
  8. We were slow ponderous and lacking in that final ball.We made few chances and persisted with pretty football in front of a massed Norwich defence. a poor day at the office and a poor start considering we had Sunderland at home and Norwich away WBA could have gone either way. Palace seem to be all over Sunderland at the moment and that is really worrying!
  9. We need the Morgan Jack combination back also I fail to se what the point was of taking off our only two players who had the skill to make something happen in lallana and Osvaldo. In fact Lallana was probably our best player today so why take him off?
  10. Cork on his way? hope not!
  11. My point is, our academy gets far more exposure than Sunderlands and as a result we attract far better younger players so the fact that 3 of them are in the first team is no excuse to lose 3-0 home to Sunderland or to go 3 matches without a win! I would also make the point last years under 18's was a top 4 team so the players moving up must also be relatively good! Also Shaw and Gazzaniga did not really feature much last year when the team did well so we are only missing 2 in reality.
  12. Not really an excuse is it? As the fact we play youngsters means we attract the better ones in the first place!
  13. Our academy is really struggling this year
  14. This concerns a small court dispute and we only have one sides view of what the facts are! What has it to do with football?
  15. Also Waldron, Funnel, Baker, Moran, Williams, Le Tiss all three Wallaces, Bridge, Oakley, Baird, and many others too Even Bobby Stokes another boy from Pompey like Ward Prowse made it at Saints and the ones that got away and came back like Phillips and Wise Yes Saints have been bringing talent through for decades like Crewe, The old Westham and Everton clubs who traditiopnally bring through youth, attract good youth to them and therefore have more choice and chances of ultimate success. To have brought through the most expensively transferred player in the world is a real accolade to our success!
  16. Agreed apparently we need a pacey winger to succeed
  17. Well well well says a lot for the Dutch league then!
  18. We played four Academy graduates together today in Chambers Ward-Prowse Shaw and Lallana you could almost count Morgan as one too given his length of time and development at the club this must be a first since the Beckham generation at United! Given the relatively young ages of the likes of Wanyama, Ramierez, Rodriques and Clyne too the future is looking very bright
  19. Err what do you think? pleased we played well but annoyed we didnt win! We should have won 3-0 as our play and possession deserved it! but hey thats football!
  20. I can't stand Poyet but quite like Gray as a pundit he speaks with some knowledge and despite his rather unfortunate comments deserves a second chance! Also Jaziarah is big business these days and they are probably both getting a fortune!
  21. Gus Poyet! joining Andy Gray as the pundits on Jazeerah for us Middle East Exiles today love to see him describing a Saints win!
  22. Missed last week as was unfortunately in Riyadh back today though!
  23. Probably a sell on clause if Palace manage to stay up!
  24. Maybe Man U want to put pressure on Baines and Everton? Wheels within wheels!
