Exactly this. Lots of pundits and posters pointing out we were on a hiding to nothing at 2pm yesterday, would be lucky to get away with 4-0. As it worked out we were unlucky not to have come away with a 1-3 win. We are very close to being a competitive side, but it is absolutely crucial that we bring in a keeper and (assuming Archer @£15m is the forward) a creative option up front - Ramsdale / Johnston and O'Riley would likely transform this side, but these gaps have been clear to the fans for an age. If the Board fail to recruit they will have been negligent rather than merely reckless.
-
Fans are now mostly full of shit too - the Man City virus.
-
Fine margins. You can’t have an unreliable keeper if you’re going to take this league seriously. Need the new man in for forest before we drop more crucial points.
-
First learning curve. Against 10 men for over an hour, and a ref trying to even it up through second half. Fine margins every game. If this board fucks up on recruiting a finished article keeper again they need shooting.

Ref 🤡

Still prefer Ryan Fraser to be honest.

It’s underwritten by the weird board fetish with Bazunu. They need to get smart as it’s small margins in this league. Reliable keeper is essential. Up to me I’d approach Johnston and then make a final offer to arsenal for ramsdale - either improve us enormously. The way the outfield players are battling deserves a rock at the back.
-
Pay up for Ramsdale or Johnston or it’s going to be a long season. The outfield players have been superb and shown they can be competitive. Hopefully we can get a keeper in next week. I’d take 1-0 v ten man Newcastle away at half time. If saints can keep up pressure we can get a result here. Fuck Howe and Newcastle. COYR!

Stephens' magic strikes again.

1-1 I think, hopefully settle a few nerves and get right up some 'expert' hooters!
-
I think what Armstrong, BBD and Archer provide is a lot of fluidity and movement so hard for oppo to pick up and defend against. Combine that with our new Japanese fullback who can cross and pass at pace, plus hopefully wee man and things could be interesting.

GK, AM, and a diminuative WB/W last seen in the Tyneside area I reckon.

Not even the best keeper in Joy Division.

He’d still be the shortest player on the park!

I mentioned him during the Euros, when he was running the show. Cocky, jumped up, arrogant little shit! I'd take him in a heartbeat for Saints.
-
More, Cubic Zirconia Edwards.
-
We need a dopey overblown tart with no knowledge of football to start a lame media campaign! Time to get Rasmus back in the fold.
-
This is a complete no grainer!

Him and Mara would finally give us the cutting edge we've been waiting for.

Who was the last signing that genuinely got you excited?

The McMenemy years were like wish-list bingo, loved supporting through that time. Beyond the obvious names, Dave Watson as a kid, then Koeman when he was coming in as manager - I was a centre back as a youngster, my old man had played at a high standard and those two were the two he told me to watch, heroes both. Latterly, a difficult call as we've been buying potential rather than nous, but the first Koeman window after the levelling of the squad had a plethora of interesting incomings of character. -

Then constipated for a month when he turned up with Paul Williams! -
Road sweeper?

Jack Stephens...

Remarkable that the best we have looked as a defensive unit under Martin was when he was forced to dispense with his 'technical transformation' in the play off games. In this sense a 'conventional' goalkeeper certainly helped to get us promoted, quite a few fans are currently of the view that we now need a better conventional goalkeeper to stay up. If Martin tries to overthink survival in this league we are toast.
