  1. I know that Christophe! Dragan Solak is
  2. No, not at all. Trying to point out that Saints have had a great many opportunities to achieve some balance in terms of the silverware quotient with our bitter rivals, and have continually fallen short. I've been attending matches for something like 45 years. In that time I've seen us pipped by that arrogant Liverpool team in terms of the league title when we were the best side that season, been to an FA Cup final and four semi finals, and two League cup finals and two semi finals. Just once on those ten occasions it would have been nice to have actually got it over the line. I am sure that a majority of supporters at similar sized provincial clubs would not view one out of ten as unreasonably ambitious.
  3. Go back and actually read my post, you seem to have misinterpreted or completely missed the points made.
  4. Are those examples in the trophy cabinet? The point is valid, for a club our age and size you might expect us to have been successful in actually winning senior silverware on more than one occasion in the last 140 years. Portsmouth clearly have bragging rights here, as much as that grates.
  5. It is indeed. Russ should alternate between Jack and Ryan to do the post match trio fist pump to the Saints kop win lose or draw until the end of the season.
  6. or Manning, who is supposed to...
  7. These days their fans are so small time it's actually quite pitiful, it is as if since they dropped out of the top flight they've been hyper-interbreeding to create a generation of creatures that can truly put the myth in Portsmyth. Thankfully there appear to be considerably less than 19,000 specimens at large for their current resurrection and title surge. Saints are a bigger club in every aspect and it's idiotic for the inbreeds to suggest otherwise, we have been for around sixty years, and soon it will be 'in living memory' - support, stadium, facilities, players, internationals, transfer fees, European campaigns, PL seasons, revenue, ambition, you name it. The problem is we are also the fucking runners up / semi-final / perennial choke specialists, and you are right to say this. I wanted that great Adkins side to win both pots on the way up but couldn't really give a shit about lower league trophies, except where those freaks down the wrong end of the M27 are concerned, and that's the problem here. I hope that they fuck it up, but if they come up next season expect another Rotherham rather than Ipswich, delusion in their DNA.
  8. Likely best bet using the eyes at our games: Bree - Harwood-Bellis - Bednarek - Walker-Peters. Bar injuries to these players. Then like for like. Simple really.
  9. See he's replacing Niko Kovacs, who a few, including me quite fancied to replace him at Saints - funny old game isn't it. I think the vast majority of Saints fans will wish Ralph all the very best, decent man at a decent club. Always thought he did his best with diminishing returns here, and at the end had simply run out of steam and probably patience. Hopefully draw them in Europe when we qualify in 2025/26
  10. Shame, as the man has a huge amount of ability and drive. Could have been a top, top player. The black dog has no respect for money or fame. Hope he finds his tribe and a way through.
  11. Like to see you lot researching a new subject on an ipad wearing a balaclava on live TV. Everyone's a critic.
  12. Slopez Lopez the financial genius...
  13. Up for trying that. Then again I think we'd probably look more solid defensively with Shakin' Stevens replacing Mind the Gap Manning.
  14. He's a power player Rothwell and really like seeing him playing through the middle. Always handy to have a brick shithouse in the side, and JR appears to have the pedigree and attributes to tear up opposition defences at this level.
  15. Loan him to Goztepe next season and haunt the tight bastards!
  16. They should emergency loan Ryan Manning, see if Lis is really any good.
  17. Fucking player...
  18. You would hope one of the club's social media toddlers might have a look on here and realised that they've badly fucked up. Nicholl played more for Saints than any other of his clubs, and won most of his 51 international caps whilst playing in the best Saints sides of all time. This, before managing us in the top flight for six years. Even for a self-obsessed club media that seems willing to virtue signal on any nonsense at the drop of a hat this is a genuine cock up. Let's hope a grown up rectifies the situation next home game.
  19. A couple of further observations from yesterday agreeing with some of the foregoing posts. Taking Brooks off clearly unbalanced our midfield, with the defence already looking a tad unbalanced due to the shoehorning of stephens and playing our best centre back as a full back. Those Sunderland goals looked great in the ground but remarkable having seen them back - terrific and Bazunu had no chance. Thought Armstrong the Geordie was mom and clearly wanted to rattle the away fans, which was nice to see. Other than the two missiles, Sunderland didn’t really have a structured goal threat and if we could finish would have reversed that 5-0 early second half. After half time Sunderland were swinging long cross balls in towards manning who once again was seen as the weak link by our opposition. Good to see Bree on, and he’s a steady Eddie, a solid defender, which is quite handy to have at full back. Mara is frustrating but has a touch of the louche Gabbadiani class about him, looks like he has everything you need in a centre forward but is either naive or still learning, like to think the latter as a youngster. More worried about Sulemana who has some remarkable skill but seems incapable of passing or shooting on target, very quick running up his own arse. Lethal player potentially but it’s like having the scarecrow from the wizard of Oz on speed as your impact sub currently.
  20. Rothwell proper put his laces through the ball on both occasions, no pissing about. That was very heartening to see.
  21. Odd thing that stood out for me today second half was the ball constantly passed or rolled out from our box into the centre no man’s land where it was duly picked up by a Sunderland player who turned it into an attack or pin balled back in. Must have happened half a dozen times and though I was at wrong end of the ground to see detail, it looked tactical. If it was I hope we never fucking see it again.
  22. Unconfirmed reports that it's the Rankersen Book Depository and Yoga Studio Inc. that's gone up in flames. Rather interesting given the release of the financial statement earlier in the week.
  23. The scrapyard or stadium?
  24. Good summary, he is markedly better and clearly more comfortable with Downes in the side. The real shame is that Downes is the only player we currently have who can compliment in that role.
  25. Those impromptu barbeque pool parties at Michael Barrymore's place were notoriously full-on!
