Moyes would likely sort it out in three morning sessions to be honest.

Looks like Danny ings has sold a couple of his expressionist paintings. Ambience of a motorway service station in purgatory (which in many ways it is).
-
When he is sacked it will be telling when and where he gets picked back up. Anticipate a similar situation with Martin as Jones. Start back in league 1 with three million in the bank, maybe MK Dons fancy a reunion.

I don’t think that there is any grand plan master or ponzi, just some good old narcissistic ineptitude from those advising the investor. Have long thought that Solak would have a breaking point in terms of his ‘partners’ but that his tolerance levels would be higher than the fans. If he was there yesterday he sees saints unravelling and Martin unable to prevent defeat against one of maybe five ‘KPI’ sides in this league. Would be irresponsible not to act now, but he really needs to go for symptom and cause.

That spectacular header just after home time which would have been own goal of the season goes in and it’s goodnight Vienna for Leicester. At two nil Cooper would have drilled them to keep pressuring saints as fragmentation and gaps will appear, and they did. Thought the subs weakened us, particularly Dibling who was really getting under their skin. Mention of ref, can’t remember a worse performance than that this century - probably Roger Milford’s lovechild.

For me the worst thing is that it seems avoidable. Solak to his credit has put serious money into the club in earnest and on a different level to previous Boards, staggered that he seems willing to let these chancers continue to throw the dice on his investment. All they needed to do when they came in was stabilise, whether that was by backing the beleaguered Hassenhutl or replacing him with someone credible - £50 odd million in that 'Rasmus' window alone with an atrocious return should have seen the fraud off in May 23! It's clear to a majority of Saints fans who attend the games, away fans, and most of the ex-pro pundits in the media that Martin is out of his depth and drowning, a win against 15th place Leicester isn't going to change that.

Emotional rescue...

Hearing today that Pinder has asked for some time off from the club ambassador role once Russ gets the sack. Potter being offered a team-building weekend in the New Forest with Rishi Sunak, Chris Packham, and Craig David as a sweetener.
-
Very sweet of you to say that.
-
You are right in terms of attempting comparison over time, but for the record in Hughes first seven games as a league (PL) manager he won one, drew three and lost three - so six points and hit the ground a good deal faster than Russ. Hughes' first ten as a league manager were won two, drew five, lost three and his first game / first win was against the pond life down the road. March 2018 we got jaded journeyman Mark Hughes of course, but to be fair he did the job he was taken on to do.

It would indeed. Let’s hope Solak is sick of wasting his money.

I can see why the Board would 'give' Martin this charity match looking at all the variables and optics, but if they are serious about staying in this league they have to act now to bring in a credible replacement. I've long thought Potter would be a great fit for Saints and vice versa, so it will probably be John fucking Eustace.

Having been there I think most people would, given the choice.

In case Russell gets offended (easily done) a mention in dispatches for his first team coach, Carl Martin. Stellar playing career at Macclesfield and Wealdstone with nearly 100 games as a semi-professional. Promoted to head of cones in terms of Russball v.4 but a convert, and upwards of 425 required on the training pitch at any one time. A proper Martin.

Poor man’s Ralph Hassenhutl
-
Greatness only in terms of Lucy’s big tits, and I don’t count Russ in that equation!
-
If I was Dragan I'd drop into the ex-Saints dressing room after the charity match and do a quick brainstorm and poll. They'll be more footballing nous and acumen in that room than the club has had in 8 years. Short-shortlist gleaned and Spanish archer for Russ before Lucy brews his pre-beddy byes green tea.

Well there you go. Timid was never going to cut it.

Yes, think that was the preferred bolthole. I was in there once on a school night and Hurlock, Adams, Horne, and Dowie were really tying one on, Dowie struggling a bit to keep up. He exited the upstairs toilet as I passed him, tripped and went down the staircase headfirst. Happy more gentle times when the players were fully embedded in the community.

I've got a feeling that Martin's main plan after promotion was simply to avoid defeats at all costs and snatch the odd point to try to build confidence - his, as much as the team. Fair enough, it's a learning curve for him and that situation and risk is squarely on the board. This has, however, made us horrible to watch, and even when we've looked OK for 20 minutes you sense the coming implosion. So, no wonder Saints fans are not enjoying it at the moment. At this point, newly promoted, perhaps the best we could have hoped for was to be competitive in every match, we simply have to go for it - get fitter, develop a mean streak, and fight for everything, even if loses possession. Essentially, the polar opposite of what we are doing currently. Saints fans love a side that fights, and if this team can find theirs we still have time to turn things around and enjoy our return to this league. Ball, Hoddle, Strachan, Pochettino and Koeman should provide the model to punch above our current (fly)weight and start pissing off the likes of Arsenal rather than being everyone's favourite upcoming fixture! I really enjoyed the sojourn in the Championship, but if we are serious about building back up we need to be in the PL and act like we deserve to be.

Neither could Nathan Jones and he was a fucking bin-fire!
-
From the opposition dugout it's clearly a veritable fucking hoot!
-
Plus he can speak Spanish and whistle ‘Land of my Fathers’ in twenty five languages. A citizen of the world. God willing…
-
If the majority shareholder(s) want him out then he's out, like any other business. It's essentially Solak's call.
-
Martin should have gone at the start of this summer, Ankersen at the start of last summer. You would think that Solak would have realised by now that in this business, above all others, time is money.
