  1. Gutting, but would be particularly sweet if we pass them on way up!
  2. Another astute signing for this league if Spors can pull this off!
  3. FAFO! Lolz 😂

I remember that Steve Coppell was fairly handy. Finished his Economics degree from Liverpool whist starring from Man U under Docherty!

Along with Mads, just the type of signing we need to make if serious about a swift return to the Prem. Good work Spors!
  6. Will wait until after Watford, hopefully Mads and Morg will cook!
  7. He’s always had his knockers!
  8. If Still was taking note last night, McCarthy should really start our next game, which will hopefully park this groundhog day thread for a while.
  9. Start him vs the inbreds, at least he doesn’t lose his bottle in big games!
  10. An assistant probably fucked up the dry cleaning!
  11. To be fair that would have been brilliant. Folding table hastily assembled in the centre circle!
  12. He’s on it like a car bonnet!
  13. We needed to sign a first choice.
  14. Just texted my Norwich supporting mate and his take was ‘are they fucking mental’ - so a ringing endorsement!
  15. Might as well of kept Lumley on. If Bazunu is confirmed number 1 we are in for a bumpy season regardless if Spors manages to sign some attackers.
  16. My 'hopeful' reading was / is that he is playing this formation in the early matches down to the closing of the window to keep things tight and evaluate the squad / league. Then once things start to gel and he knows fully what he's got we set up to attack. It is clearly not working currently. Keep reminding myself that Still is the man who demolished Monaco 4-0 in his last game with Lens, ultra attacking 3-1-4-2 that day against possession they had 15 shots, let's hope we see it in Soton soon.
  17. Of course, Whitey, but not the hot prospect successive Boards seem to think he is.
  18. He's 'worth' about ten percent of that, and that's the likely ceiling at any point.
  19. Spot on. Half the stadium thought we should have bought Johansson after his heroics for Rotherham in our last Championship season, and many said so on here. So obvious to anyone who has watched the game for a few years, and could likely have bought him for £3m. Sport Republic’s expert scouts seem to see things differently from the majority of SFC fans. We have a proven formula for rapid promotion from the Leibherr / Adkins era, but these doughnuts don’t seem able or willing to replicate it.
  20. When he came on today he was a yard behind every play - timing (a key part of a big striker’s game) completely absent. Didn’t get a touch or deserve to.
  21. SR have been very fortunate to have been able to flog young players since taking over at Saints with their ‘if you throw enough mud’ model. Any success seems to be inspite of, rather than because of. Tick tock on Spors.
  22. Should have said on earlier post. Fair play to Robbins for the way he has set up and coached Stoke. Horrible niggly workmanlike side and and top level shithousery - a Championship masterclass. Schooled Will Still today. Mention in dispatches for Johansson too, superb display of committed goalkeeping, underatted if anything.
  23. And that was probably his worst game for us today!
  24. Agree with this. Bazunu groundhog day today, and simply have to get a new keeper who can catch and command the box. Our finishing was so poor second half (right in front of us) it was pitiful. Every shot a last resort, weak and half hearted. Downs and Stewart equally inept and behind every fucking play. The reluctance to play down the wings and use width was also baffling - every time a player was in space they turned inside to recycle, apart from the new lad who came on as a late sub. We need a keeper and a couple of attackers pronto - perhaps Still can make the choice of who these are.
