  1. I raise you a Steve de Ridder
  2. Always difficult in a video montage but really good feet, close control and quick footballing brain in those clips - movement reminds me a bit of a Shaqiri or Kinkladze. One to get excited about if we get this over the line.
  3. If this is done under the ready made excuse that WS is still 'assessing' his squad options in the first few games it's a huge avoidable fuck up. We can put the Stephens contract down to a trigger happy Spors but not the team selection for competitive matches - that's squarely on the manager.
  4. That's the most entertaining womens football match I've seen so far. Are Wrexham over 50s planning to play a team of trained chimpanzees next, another sure-fire crowd pleaser - 11-0!
  5. Thing about the three you mention is that they have mistakes in them every single game, all whilst playing in crucial positions down the spine of the team. In the Russell Martin Championship season there was an element of you score three we'll score four against poor opposition, but it's still a complete liability in the literal sense. If those three start in the first few games the majority fanbase will be anticipating and expecting the Bazunu trademark flap and freeze, the Stephens slip and grab, or Smallbone brushed off or absent. Will Still has already mentioned a desire for 'fortress St Marys' but if he picks that trio and we ship points it will be an avoidable self-inflicted injury when you desperately need a good start. I hope that he's got more nous than that.
  6. Similar to Sam Johnstone in that regard, a solid keeper in the Maik Taylor mould. I would have been happy with Johnstone in May 2023 and again now assuming Ramsdale is offski.
  7. One way to look at this fee is that £6.5M pays Jack Stephens contract for the next three years or so @£40k a week.
  8. I think so, and I'd still be hoovering up as many decent loans as poss until midnight.
  9. Can happen when defending against a Brazilian.
  10. Lucky it wasn’t Prince Andrew.
  11. Garner was terrific tonight, a step up and bossed it. Well done to the Saints contingent too, showed how it should be done. Roll on the big title shot at SMS next summer. Highlights here:
  12. Or Guido Carillo v ...
  13. Despite Eriksen being 34 in the new year, more chance of Hans Christian Anderson, I would think...
  14. I think we need to give it more time before reaching that conclusion. At least three weeks.
  15. Your friend, el duce, also said "People are like women, they go with the winning man!" That must be why Russell got the Spanish archer at Saints.
  16. Think we may see some proper movement next week after the Spain trip. Media and body language of the players and Will Still suggests that this trip was the last chance to stake a claim for a good few - more head down sullen faces than smiles and back-slapping. Unfortunately, it's going to feel like we are leaving it late again but I get the feeling that this is different to last year and Still isn't keen to get close to the squad until he is sure who deserves a place in it and his full attention - poker face and very little bullshit on display. He'll know we need to add quality, and to replace any of the big money quartet who get serious late offers. Keeping the faith for now.
  17. That's because he clearly isn't to anyone who has watched him for Saints over 90 minutes.
  18. My view too. He's evaluating not competing currently.
  19. I think so, though who is leaving and how Still intends to play could also be factors I suppose, but given the source it's probably fluff anyway.
  20. Yep they've certainly nailed the ropey old tart market.
  21. Dale Vince, one of Starmer's dinner party circle, an absolute tool!
  22. Looks a lot of money for Championship Saints for an 18 year old from that league, but he's seen as a genuine hot prospect. Athletic 6ft 2ins target man striker, already capped by Senegal and originally from Mane's old side.
