In the fucking mirror, again!

Having been freshly sacked by Genoa (proper basket case club before he joined them) i could certainly see Viera being lined up for interview next week. Gut feeling, but could be a good fit for SFC, one of the Hoddle, Koeman, Souness, type of appointments. Plays good football and did very well at palace in his first season with them, top half and fa cup semi from memory. Think the english leagues suit him.

I get that it’s Hobson’s choice for us to a large extent, but it does seem odd if this idiot board has settled on GO’N as the man to provide the feel good factor. They really are in the last chance saloon with a majority of the fanbase, and edgy would seem a bizarre choice. For what it’s worth, as per Jones (with Dyche) and Martin they tend to interview various candidates rather than simply install, so i would imagine the final reveal will catch us by surprise. The fun never ends…

Yep, by me i think. I watch a fair bit of portugese PL football and he has done wonders by any standard. More five o clock shadow than beard and a fiery fucker. Paired with Fonte could be exactly what we need, and i think both would come. Hence, no chance!

If SR are set on a continental coach i would take a good long look at Vasco Matos at Santa Clara (great football and has worked miracles in Portugal on zero money). Then, move heaven and earth to get Fonte in as his number two. Doubt they are looking at him, but that pairing would work very well at SFC, particularly with Romeu on the pitch.

I get the feeling that another ‘left field’ choice is about to be made on behalf of SFC, or a former Sport Republic ‘hobby horse’, perhaps Carlos Corberan (after what looked like a wound up fluffer appearing on here last night) is about to be tapped up. What we absolutely need, as Le Tissier mooted earlier in the week, is a big personality, a character to impose on this group, better still an ex player with a pedigree that our basement superstars cannot bypass. Carrick and Gerrard are the type we need right now, but this Board seem to be allergic to senior english football people, a narcissistic inferiority complex or two, sitting at the big table no doubt. We are highly likely to be served up another continental dog’s breakfast as a result!
