  1. Well, since the circumstances are unlikely to arise again, it's all water under the bridge. For the record, they did tell me at the time that they normally charged for this service but, given the circumstances, they'd waive it.
  2. Not at the time and in the circumstances I didn't, and obviously nor did they. I suppose I could have tried to get in / break in myself, having tethered my toddler to a tree, and taken the chance that I didn't go into labour and have to call the emergency services....... Oh.
  3. It was in the days before mobiles were common. I had to use a coin box and I didn't have any money with me. Also I had my son with me (he was 2 at the time). I did say that I understood if it took a long time for them to attend. They were very kind and I made them a cuppa once we got inside - so obviously they were in no rush to go elsewhere.
  4. I did call the Fire Brigade once. I was 8 months pregnant and I'd locked myself out. There was no way I could crawl in the one, very small, window on the first floor that was open.
  5. Indeed http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=138385#post138385 Let's post it lots of times - and wait for the responses from the likes of Corpse and Meringwhatever.
  6. Mero - whatever your name is. Wasn't your take-over being announced yesterday before / during / after that European match thingy?
  7. Crikey mate - can I have some of what you're drinking / smoking please?
  8. Like 'arry, they're all getting out because the club's up sh1t creek. I don't think 'Sacha' will find it too easy to desert the sinking (or should that be 'stinking') ship.
  9. He still lives in Warsash, though - doesn't he?
  10. Interesting comments by Gareth Southgate in today's Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/dec/17/gareth-southgate-middlebrough-credit-crunch
  11. I can remember going to watch Southampton at Banister Court. I still love the smell (of the bikes). Oh happy days
  12. Within the Standing Orders, there will be a requirement for a quorum. Someone must know the miminum numbers required for the meeting to go ahead?
  13. Kerry Ellis, apparently :smt102
  14. Dunno - but she was good, I thought.
  15. The girl singing with Queen?
  16. I'll have you know I spent HOURS on working out how to phrase that  I could have put 'poisoned' duckhunter but that would imply he'd been poisoned (from my mouth to god's ears). I could have put 'duckhunter who is poison' but something would have been lost in such a clumsy phrase. Still you got my drift
  17. We could call him the 'Poison DuckHunter'
  18. Man City were reportedly offering £18m. So why would Real offer another £6m :smt102
  19. I was listening to a piece on Radio 5 yesterday about this. Apparently the millipede is pink to warn off predators as it will squirt cyanide at them if attacked
  20. It might be wise to put 'allegedly' in here
  21. Yep - the bit that says: To secure for the workers by hand or by brain the full fruits of their industry and the most equitable distribution thereof that may be possible upon the basis of the common ownership of the means of production, distribution and exchange, and the best obtainable system of popular administration and control of each industry or service." Still makes sense to me
  22. I'm not a communist! Brother and sister is just fine with me I wouldn't mind Clause 4 to be the backbone of our group though
  23. True - but it's all a storm in a teacup really. I mean, each pensioner receiving £3 too much per month. It just sounds a lot because it's been going on for 30 years. Interestingly, the Scottish government is going to continue to pay the 'wrong' pension.
  24. But that link says: "If you're under the age of 16, you can have an abortion if two doctors agree that you have good reasons under the abortion laws. You don't need your parent's consent, as long as the doctors believe: you understand the decision, and it would be in your best interests to have an abortion without your parent's consent. However, doctors usually prefer the matter to be discussed with your parents and will try to persuade you to do so". So maybe the doctor has been persuaded that it would be best if the parents didn't know.
  25. Be that as it may, he was able to make a physical decision to take a risk, wasn't he (and the girlfriend too). The fact that he's under age in all the areas you list won't turn the clock back. However, if his parents (and hers) know what's happening, and take a decision contrary to what the children want to do, that could cause all sorts of problems later on in life. I'm assuming (and hoping) that the girl's GP has sanctioned the abortion. I don't think GPs have to notify parents in such cases any more. Let's face the stark facts. If the boy (and the girl) have a good relationship with their respective parents, they will have talked the matter through with them. If they haven't got that good relationship, they're probably not going to get the support they so badly need, are they?
