  1. You need Jillyanne's input methinks. I would have thought you were too young for cruising (sorry, going on a cruise ship). Cripes I even consider myself too young for a cruise ship holiday. The only exception I would ever consider is this: http://www.norwegiancoastalcruises.com/?gclid=CNTI4qKEgbUCFW_KtAodNy8Ang

  3. Err - no it isn't. I can't see how the NHS and jobs market would have coped WITHOUT migrants from Europe TBH
  4. Pat Nevin having a rant on BBC Breakfast just now
  5. A novel chemical capable of destroying indestructible devices

  7. Conversely, a friend of mine, who has been a (part time for tax reasons) but long term resident of Spain had fantastic treatment when he had his heart attack. The only downside was that an interpreter had to be present at all times because my friend doesn't speak Spanish.
  8. Manufacture a shielding device to surround helicopter tracking motorcycles
  9. I think they cost the Spanish health service quite a lot
  10. Will that mean all those ex pats having to come home from France and Spain? Most of them are old(ish) so will cost our health service more
  11. Edited for you
  12. Edit Now I can see it says 2007! However, this is a bit more up to date http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Budget_of_the_European_Union#The_EU_budget_for_2014-2020
  13. This might answer your question. The tables can be queried on a number of criteria http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/8036097.stm#start
  14. I can't speak for Solentstars obviously, but my view has always been that, had the conditions been right, then yes we should join. Those conditions were Gordon Brown's 5 Economic Tests. He judged that the conditions weren't right and they're still not right.
  15. I wonder what the odds would be on an extension to to the administration. Would a judge (or whoever) take into account their previous history / administrations I wonder?
  16. I think this has been pointed out many times before - the ECHR is absolutely nothing to do with the EU.
  17. And he voted with the then government against a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.
  18. But his stance IS all about tribal party politics - within his own party. He's trying to keep all sides of the divide within the Conservative party on board and, at the same time, trying to pull back the disaffected that are swaying towards UKIP. He's said he wants to stay in Europe - thats politics speak for 'I want to stay in power'. He doesn't give a flying **** what you and I think.
  19. This article explains what the Treaty of Lisbon is and also explains the various opt-outs the UK and other member states negotiated. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/6901353.stm I believe the argument against a referendum at that time was that it wasn't a change to the constitution but rather an amendment, and this article seems to support that view.
  20. I think the Labour Party has consistently said that there would always be a referendum if there were material changes to the Treaty. In fact, I think the Tories said that too. I think the Labour Party is also saying that, until the terms of any renegotiation are clear, it would be silly to call NOW for a referendum whose makeup would be unclear. I notice that Mr Cameron failed to answer a simple question: What would you do if the negotiations failed?
  21. Ageist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. "when I say that it’s not Michael Appleton’s fault, he just relaid the news from those trying to sell the club." So NA doesn't proof-read his copy then -poor, poor journalism. Or is it 'relaid' in the context of tarmac as that's the language they understand down there?
  23. I have absolutely no doubt that they will
  24. Surely he wouldn't be so disingenuous
  25. Possibly but I'd also have to weigh up the other ramifications of his policies e.g. unemployment, child poverty, downgrading of social care, housing needs etc. However, I think that a lot of people, including Mervyn King, Chairman of the Bank of England, the IMF and a good number of big businesses are openly stating that they don't think his policies ARE working and they know far more than I ever would
