    Scars

One ontop of my right knee from when I was about 3 and I fell over onto a glass milk bottle. I was outraged because I had to go round in a pushchair with a plank of wood to support my leg. One on the side of my right knee, running from halfway down my thigh from a skiing accident when I severed my medial ligament.
  4. The anarchists would have to organise to decide who the weirdos are. Sort of goes against their creed
  5. I'm assuming that they have some sort of 'gentlemens' agreement' in place with Robinson that says proft from selling the CP to Tesco will be invested in the club?
  6. Missing the point eh? Not like you
  7. so much for democracy eh http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-21024828
  8. They didn't have the required support......#soamI
  9. [h=4]PompeyBeej[/h] 11:10 AM on 15/01/2013 What are the other options (bar FP/HMS Collingwood/United Services and the Uni?) St. Johns College Farlington PGS Mountbatten Apart from Southsea common jokes, we could always enquire with HMRC - don't they have grounds nr Cosham? Pay them what they owe them and HMRC might consider?
  10. Isn't that just for purchases over £100?
  11. Yep it was a H & S issue with the nurse. The other two were considered to be the discriminators in that they didn't treat their service users equally. But the 3 can appeal apparently.
  12. I think the problem the nurse had was with her hospital's Health and Safety regulations. Before anyone starts moaning about H & S, nursing staff are not allowed to wear jewelry generally - because there is always a risk that a disturbed patient can grab it and strangle the nurse and, of course, there is an infection risk too. European Courts have just ruled - British Airways woman has won but the other 3 have lost.
  13. Oops sorry! (Note to self - check before you post). In my defence the other thread says he's set to be named........ mine says he HAS been named. Am I forgiven
  14. So it says on the BBC headlines although there's no link up yet
  15. We don't have an HMV in my town. However, what we do have is a good mix of small versions of large chains e.g. Debenhams, M & S, Argos etc. What we DO have is free parking,. OK it's a small town and it is in the Cotswolds so it gets a fair number of tourists. But the town is always buzzing, even in winter when there aren't so many tourists around so hats off to the local council for continuing the free parking. I don't know what the retail rents are but, on the rare occasions a shop has gone out of business, another one springs up. So we have lots of independent shops too and it really is quite pleasant just to wander in and out of these little shops. We also don't have a big retail park close by. So I'm confident our town will thrive where others won't. Oh and we have an independent music retailer. Shame we're moving really
  16. By buying the land around FP isn't Robinson effectively creating a ransom strip for future development (I use that last word with a giggle)
  17. Me too - well not the same journey as you, obviously. I used to travel from Sholing to the former Girls' Grammar school by bus and then, when I was about 13 onwards, I used to cycle that journey (Lances Hill was a killer coming home but great fun going TO school)
  18. Thank you so much all of you. Our new house is in a terrace of four and the builder has erected a dish on one of the end of terrace houses, 3 doors away from us. That dish has 4 LNBs on it, one for each house. The cable runs along the guttering to each house. I don't think we can make a decision until we've moved in as we don't know how many cables run from 'our' LNB so we won't know how many connections are available to us. But at least thanks to all of you I now understand how Freesat works.
  19. Thanks Bearsy - the thing is, our house is brand new and there's no aerial ATM. We tend only to watch the news channel in the bedroom and we don't want sky multiroom. I just wondered if Freesat was a cheaper / easier way of doing it rather than fork out for an aerial installation. And thanks too Boxo - I reckon we'll just need the 3 feeds.
  20. Sensible answers please guys and gals. Moving house next week and we've decided we don't want Sky multiroom anymore. We'll have Sky in our sitting room but just freeview or similar in the bedroom. Someone has mentioned Freesat but I don't know anything about it. Once our Sky dish is active, is it right that we don't need to do anything else except buy and plug in a Freesat box? Would a Freeview box suffice? Could we have more than one room 'wired up' to receive Freesat? All sensible replies gratefully received xx
  21. This is a bit of a bummer too, isn't it? vi) That the City Council must obtain an assignment of unencumbered parachute payments (preferable) of a sum sufficient to repay the loan from the proper body entitled to provide it or alternatively that an investor guarantee is provided by the PST for the full £1.45m
  22. GET INVOLVEDRyan Hutchings on Twitter: "Portsmouth really need 'Postponed' to stay. He's been absolutely vital in preventing us from losing games." From the BBC Sport website - made me lol
  23. Years ago (I actually mean decades ago), my dad did some sort of refurb on the JB. It was indeed a gay haunt and also, in those days, I think ladies of the night plied their trade there too. He said it had the cleanest kitchens ever - he reckoned you could eat off the floor!
  24. I know why it was wrong - he forgot to mention the billions of tax being avoided and the handouts to the undeserving rich
