If we could pair him in the midfield with David Prutton (who could cover the after match clapping), we'd pretty much have sorted our clapping for the season IMO.

Just looked at a footy stats site to see Gaston's record before he came to SMS & saw that yesterday's game was only his 100th league appearance. Not a lot for a guy who reportedly cost us £12 millon. He's had a bit of a mixed bag since arriving with injury, the death of a family member & now being shunted around positionally. Give him a good run in his best position, in a settled side & I'm sure he'll come good. The ability is there in abundance.

Lewis Dunk at Brighton fits that description, is young, fits our profile & has been linked with Prem before (Newcastle, I think). Complete guesswork but would undoubtedly wind Poyet up so worth a punt for that reason alone.

Stay up as the minimum. Continue to develop the squad in Jan so its a comfortable run in & the group can hit the ground running next term. A decent Cup run if it doesn't impair our League performance.

What about Chaplow out there? His decent run of form last season came as attacking left mid when Adam was out. Could do a job until Jan & would give Shaw a bit more cover away from home.

Bringing my 6 year old with me on Saturday and he wants to see if we can meet some of the players prior to the game and have his pic taken with them/get their autograph. Does anyone know what time the team arrive before kick off? Or is it easier after the match? Any help given will be gratefully received!

Must be something pretty major for him to need to dash back to Uruguay, potentially missing a critical game. I wonder if the club have let him head home with the proviso he's back in good time to be available for Saturday given its very much a 6 pointer.
