  1. Dreadful first half; excellent second. Not sure why we can't play two halves of decent football regularly. First half hindered by the team selection. Hojbjerg at right back was a disaster and wasn't much better in the midfield. KWP showed what a decent full back can do. Ingsy fantastic as always. If only he had a worthwhile partner up front to share the load. Adams was better than Obafemi though.
  2. If Harry Reed were to come back as Hojbjerg's replacement, surely that would be an upgrade? Unless it was an arm tattoo contest?
  3. I live on the outskirts of Brighton so it's a win tonight for me. Or else I won't hear the end of it! Both, of course, would be preferable though... 😉
  4. It may even be us who have said that to him to tempt him here. It was something Ralph was saying earlier in the season. Bring in talented young players; we get the benefit of that talent for a couple of years then they get sold on for a profit to supposed bigger and better sides, which suits the player, and we re-stock with the next talented player we identify. The only problem with talent identification under previous regimes is it's been shocking at times!
  5. Magnificently committed defending, a stunning goal out of nothing from Adams and amazing work rate by all. Special mentions to McCarthy after his SMS muck up last time out, Stephens & Bednarek who hurled themselves at everything, Adams for even trying that after not being able to score all season and KWP who is surely worth signing up permanently on this form. Very happy and now reaching for a celebratory beer!
  6. Excellent win. Good response to the disappointment v Arsenal. Ingsy clinical and KWP looked decent. Certainly earned a run in the team. Felt for Adams with the chance not going in but still think there's a player there. Good stuff. Onto City now...
  7. Bertrand and Hojbjerg too. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  8. https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2020-04-09/southampton-football-club-statement-coronavirus-response-april-2020 Well played Saints! Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  9. Did well when he came on vs Villa. Played an excellent ball through for Armstrong to score the clincher. Doesn't get his arse off the bench when we're 3-1 down today. I don't get it. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  10. No idea! And not something I can ask them as they didn't make it onto the Panel. For me, away fan experience is to safely enter and exit our ground, spending their money to bolster our coffers and leave having seen their team soundly beaten and their fans thoroughly out sung. Not sure we've achieved bits of that too often in recent times... Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  11. Conversely, one person who I miss listening to on radio when tuning post-match or during games I couldn't make, and this goes back a number of years, is Jimmy Case. I always found his commentary and the opinions he offered interesting and insightful.
  12. The question was asked but seemingly there's not an answer in the notes from the club: As I recall, the discussion veered more into how our own away allocations are derived but that doesn't mean an unanswered element can't be re-visited at a later time. I have to be honest and say I can't recall an answer to that specific point but I do think the club tried to answer as openly about allocations as they could in the time available (there was quite a bit to cover), as it was an issue they really wanted to respond to having seen stuff online and in contact with individual fans too.
  13. Here's the discussion from the latest Saints Voice meeting. It's lengthy but worth the read... Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  14. Steve McManaman and Michael Owen are pretty poor and desperately biased towards anyone they played for/like. Crouchy is new to it but seems ok. Not sure what to make of Owen Hargreaves but I just find him irritating. Quite like that Benali chap though. Seems to hold similar views to my own...
  15. Sky Sports reporting Leicester have made initial contact with Adam Lallana's representatives about a move there. https://www.skysports.com/transfer/news/11095/11937726/leicester-make-approach-for-liverpools-adam-lallana Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  16. Linked with Rob Dickie of Oxford. He is apparently an "EFL colussus". Make of that what you will... https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-southampton-burnley-plot-moves-to-sign-efl-colossus/
  17. Long term Saints wish list entry, Hakim Ziyech, is close to a move to Chelsea apparently. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/11932264/hakim-ziyech-chelsea-in-advanced-talks-for-ajax-attacking-midfielder
  18. Nothing anywhere about whether or not this went through in time. I guess not given the silence? Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  19. Excellent stuff. We're looking to bring in a kid at Chelsea who managed only 1 game on loan at struggling Tranmere in League 1. (Watch that come back to haunt me...)
  20. Really? If true, it would leave us incredibly light in central midfield, where we are already light IMO. This can surely only be because we're starting to believe there's no hope of him ever signing a new deal and we're looking to get rid whilst the highest price is possible.
  21. Adam Blackmore @AdamBlackmore · 11m #SaintsFC Manager Ralph Hasenhüttl confirms that Kyle Walker-Peters will NOT be in the squad at Anfield. Too early for him. On Cedric leaving, Hasenhuettl says he’s happy to let him go in the circumstances RH not expecting to bring anyone else in this window
  22. Maybe the plan is to get him on on loan, make sure he fits in with our system, likes being at the club & then carry on the negotiations, during the loan, for a permanent deal if all's good? Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  23. From the BBC transfer updates: Wow. Good luck Dusan, if this comes off. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  24. West Ham might be after a different Danish RB, if you believe the Mail: West Ham open talks with RB Salzburg over full-back Rasmus Kristensen https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7939235/West-Ham-open-talks-RB-Salzburg-Rasmus-Kristensen.html?ito=native_share_article-masthead Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk
  25. Really? It would be somewhat startling to loan in an injured player to accompany the 2 other injured players we already have unavailable to us in that position.
