Pages 5, 6, 7 on this thread filled with high praise from everybody. Fast forward exactly a month and some want TE gone. Of course viewpoints can quickly change based on performances....but a month, really? Just shows how absurd the modern game has become. A couple of defeats and fans expect a new face Thats fans of all teams not just us - just look at Liverpool fans views on Slot now compared to a few months ago. Whether we give TE the season or not matters little to me. The problems at this club run much deeper than the manager. Similarly it doesnt matter if we get promoted or we dont, there needs to be significant changes in the summer regardless. Our squad is miles off competing in the PL and if we we're still in the Championship then we need to stop relying on the same shit approach (players, recruitment, scouting, everything) and hoping that it will all work out
-
Some of the players are shite. But then again Russell Martin got the same players promoted, in fact he probably had a worse squad. TE was never the long term answer, but the results were very good and there were no other realistic managerial options at the time. The problem is, and like Still found out before him, these players will not fight for TE when the going gets tough. He has no experience, possibly out of his depth, wasnt a player himself etc etc - these players will look for any excuse instead of looking inward

Tonda is the Saganowski of management. As soon as we give him the permanent job the performances are through the floor. Crap again against a mangerless team 😂😂😂 pathetic
-
A must win in December? If we really have any hope of 2nd (unlikely the way we defend) or the playoffs, we simply need to win these kind of games. But then we lost to one of the teams below them. Going for an edgy 2-1 win
-
Would not be surprised to see him loaned back to Germany or similar in January. It just hasnt worked out. He'll likely stay on our books for multiple loans as nobody will be willing to pay close to what we paid for him (like an attacking ABK). Would like to see us target a loan striker in January. Bound to be somebody decent in the PL looking minutes
-
The new Danny Fox. Great left peg who chips in with some super goals and assists.....but defensively diabolical
-
I hope its not going to be the managerial equivalent of Marek Saganowski. Unbelievable when the possibility of a permanent job is dangling in front of him, but you can bet that once we appoint him permanently, it just wont be as good. Just keep him in temporary charge the rest of the season 😂

Page 4 of this thread is an epic read Dont be deleting your posts 😂

It seems too obvious that we're holding out for somebody currently in a job. Corberan being the most likely given our previous links
-
Appreciate that, but thats not my point. It's waiting on a manager who is stinking the place out in his current job
-
On Corberan.....it would be very SR to be waiting on a manager to be sacked Clueless twats
-
Its not hate. Its being realistic with what we've witnessed so far. We got battered by an average QPR team and were very lucky to hang on. And as for yesterday, it wouldnt take much coaching to beat Wednesday. He may have potential, but he hasnt managed at senior level. We've tried the caretaker to permanent boss experiment previously with no success. Interesting though, Eckert was assistant to Patrick Vieira at Genoa. With Vieira now available we could see that pairing again
-
Not sure what you're trying to prove comparing win ratios between managers in different divisions. Between a manager tasked primarily with avoiding relegation in the hardest league in the world, and another tasked with gaining promotion at a club expected to running for it. Either way, its unlikely that O'Neil or Carrick will get the job, but we'll see
-
Wednesday are absolutely dreadful. QPR battered us for most of the 2nd half. Seems like a nice fella, but TE is not the direction to take. Go and get Solskjaer
-
Been told he wore a blue tie
-
Just think our fans hate appointing UK managers 😂. We would much prefer an exciting european unknown, who after some quick wikipedia and athletic research, will tell us we've got the best young manager going
-
Conveniently leaving out the period between where he led Schalke on a record run of 18 games without a win. Also took over Young Boys who were going for their 4th title in a row, but was sacked when they were 15 points adrift. So yes, we would be in for some disappointing years if we appointed him
-
Carrick - I've already covered. He has managed at one Championship team. In his last two seasons he led them to 8th and 10th. Hardly inspiring Hasenhuttl - I personally dont think he would come back, particularly not in our current situation Corberan - might be an option, but hes still in charge of Valencia for now which might put off SR Robins - same as Corberan. Personally see SR moving for somebody out of work right now Wagner - hasnt done anything of note since taking Huddersfield to the PL about 8 years ago Carsley - would be a good option but needs to adapt to club management again GON brings experience of managing not one, but two PL teams to good finishes. Again, I dont think hes an amazing option, but hes certainly not a bad one
-
All this crying about GON, yet the alternatives being suggested on here are either worse or completely unrealistic. Carrick has managed at one club at Championship level. Rodgers is not coming to us We are just outside the relegation zone in the Championship, yet we're turning up noses up at a manager who has managed in the PL and was approached by a PL team this week. Is he a great option, nope, but there arent any great options out there. He also left Pompey nearly 20 years ago
-
Not doubting, just querying. Thanks for sharing
-
Thats a long time to resolve personal terms. If true, would definitely take O'Neil over Eckart, Carrick or Martin
-
Solskjaer anyone?
-
Kept Bournemouth up with a great run to finish the 22/23 season. Also led Wolves to 14th which was decent considering the team they had. We're also a struggling Championship team right now SR could definitely appoint worse, and probably will
-
Pathetic performance. On the plus side, hopefully that means Eckart wont get the job
