There's a difference between the championship being shite in 2007-2009, and the championship being shite for us between 2007-2009. It's the same as the Premier League; we could do really well and finish 6th again, that would be great for us as a club. But the PL as a brand, and as a product and as a whole would still be shite. The 2 things aren't the same, and I still maintain that the championship (and the EFL) is much more entertaining and enjoyable than the PL. Speaking as a football fan, not as a Saints fan.

Downes hasn't done anything deserving to be dropped. Nathan Wood doesn't even make the matchday squad. Who are his favourites that you speak of?
