A good goalkeeper will improve the defence. I think back to the Koeman season, and the difference Forster made to a leaky (at the time) defence. Our defence has been poor ever since our choice of keeping has been poor; circa 2018 when we suddenly had McCarthy/Gunn as our options.

Not sure who this Davies fellow is, but both Davis & Forster were 2 of the best goalkeepers we've had. Ever since probably 2017/18ish when Forster had whatever going on, the goalkeeping position has been a disaster.

Hm, I'm not so sure on that point; the only players still here from the NJ era are Gavin Bazunu, Joe Aribo, Alex McCarthy & Adam Armstrong. Stephens wasn't here at the time, as he was out on loan at Bournemouth. The rest of our squad have since joined afterwards.
