  1. The aforementioned aircraft is descending off the Isle of Wight...
  2. We best not give that fucking waster a penny. Blokes shite, trading off one performance a good decade ago, after which he thought he had made it big and forgot to put the work in. Now he's paying the price.
  3. If it's that much they'll be buying him back at the end of this season!
  4. Sam Johnstone, West Brom goalkeeper. We're not linked or anything, just a pipe dream
  5. Sell Redmond and get Johnstone and that would be the best transfer window in recent years really
  6. 'Someone' doesn't assess each goal, but the metric does assess each shot after it is taken, which isolates this statistic to purely gauge the goalkeeper's shot-stopping ability, not the defence's ability to stop the opportunity in the first place. I personally think getting a keeper like Romero or Sam Johnstone in would give the defence a huge boost since it's painfully obvious that we're not going to spend big past Lyanco. We can't keep getting our good work undone by FF or AM.
  7. Lower the number, the shitter our goalkeeper... three times worse than the nearest challenger! Metric is post shot expected goals minus goals conceded per 90 (highlighted column, stats from 2020-21) So it's the difference every game between how likely the goalkeeper is to save it based on the quality of the attackers chance compared with the actual number of goals they concede. In other words 10.3 goals would've been 'prevented' if we had an average goalkeeper in net.
  8. All you can say to that is fair play Ralph, if McCarthy didn't have poppadom hands we might have nicked all 3. Only thing I thought he got wrong was starting Walcott - who looks completely finished as a player at this level, shame. He's gonna be another deadweight for the wage bill next season. Finally the manager looked to have a bit of proactiveness and flexibility. Tino amazing, AA worked his socks off, Adams industrious as ever. Midfield two were a little off in terms of passing accuracy, was like we had two Wanyama's in there. Good job Fred for them kept giving it back to us. Isn't it great to have a bit of squad depth that we can call on - although I think Tella would have been a good addition for the last 15 in place of Armstrong, who had run his race. Need a confidence building win against Newport now. Newcastle a big game next week.
  9. Kitman KWP, Simeu, Bednarek, Perraud / Valery Diallo, S.Armstrong Redmond, Moi Tella Broja
  10. Matt-bot, you're starting to sound a bit like the now departed Positivity-bot Hojbjerg after a post-match conference - change the fkin record! One swallow doesn't make a summer...
  11. That's usually how you end up with plastic Mancs in the home end. I'd prefer the extra legroom.
  12. Yes pal this can be used to get into the ground, as long as there is a scannable QR code on the ticket you will be fine. Kicking myself that I didn't pick the mobile ticket option now.
  13. Any way you could enquire about whether it's possible to make all tickets downloadable on the site? Would be a big help. 🙏
  14. At least he seems to understand when to fucking hoof it out. More than can be said for Sali and Bednarek most of the time. Not exactly enthused with this one though, screams of penny-pinching.
  15. Useless fuckers, if they think I'm queueing up for an hour for the right to watch a 5-0 humbling they can think again
  16. Ramsdale 😆 utter pony, has been the worst keeper in the league for back-to-back seasons. The worst part is that the league contained our two bags of shit!
  17. Longstaff is utter shit, reminds me of Harry Reed
  18. I'm sorry SaintRalphInOceanVillage, SaintJackoInHurworth, but something has to give if we can't get out of this slumber. Ralph may be a good manager who is capable of getting teams to play great football at times, but he is completely inept at adapting his game both in tough spells during seasons (flexing to a 3 or 5 at the back system) and tough spells in games (substitutes glued to the bench as everyone in the stadium but him - seemingly - senses that an opposition goal is coming). He (or you) are a stubborn bloke who is not what we need to guide us through what is bound to be our toughest fight since coming back up.
  19. I just don't think it's worth denting others' confidence (Forster, Sali, Livramento, etc) by sending them out to most likely get slaughtered by a team so many levels ahead of us. Stick with the bedded in, experienced players who have the very rare tendency to grind out a decent result (1-0 vs Liverpool and 1-1 against Chelsea last season the only ones springing to mind). Besides, is Salisu really that much better than Stephens... and to that end, is Forster even better than McCarthy - that one is a real Morton's Fork.
  20. Leave out as many youngsters / newcomers as possible, it could be five or six (or worse 😈). My team: McCarthy KWP, Bednarek, Stephens, Perraud Romeu, JWP Armstrong, Redmond Adams, Armstrong
  21. I hope the club know what they're doing because for me, we are sleepwalking towards relegation. Why we haven't got a replacement for JV despite knowing he was going for ages is beyond me. The goalkeeper situation is a joke, they're both fucking awful. The stubborn git in charge won't change from his system which teams found out how to beat an absolute age ago. He refuses to change the game through subs until it is way too late... At least we have United next week. Shite.
  22. Good to see the scrap for the forum's top oddball has ramped up another gear.
  23. If he wants to stay in the PL I say throw the chequebook at him!
  24. He's toilet. If he was playing for Luton or Stoke no one would bat an eyelash. Has no outstanding attributes, is thoroughly average and was propped up by Liverpool's megastars last season. Pull the other one Saints!
  25. Stop fucking around and get Gary Cahill in, even if we have to eat his wages in the second year of a two year deal. We've managed to lose three of our best players and we've gotten no-one who is tried and tested in the Premier League. I don't know why we act like we are too good for an old fashioned free transfer. Jeremy Pied and Cuco Martina were pretty shite, granted, but a signing like that at CB or LB would be much better than playing Rubik's cube every time we get an injury (Djenepo at LB - really?). Get Cahill on a free, back him up with someone like that Tosin fella from Fulham who can learn a lot under Cahill's wing. Jetro Willems also available on a free in the left back position. We need some experienced bodies through the door, for fuck's sake. We need a goalie, badly, as well. Looks like Sam Johnstone's list of suitors is dwindling so a loan with an obligation if we stay up would be a great deal if it gets to the end of the window and he wants PL football - we could even chuck West Brom a bone in the form of one of our shite spare shot-stoppers.
