  1. Surprised to not see a single Dani Rodrigues mention. Tim Sparv, lots of good reserve performances but never played for the first team. Went on to have a good professional career and played loads of games for Finland. Adam Hammil was one I was surprised to not see make the grade, thought he looked great at times on loan for us.
  2. This is the important bit. It's all well and good having a list - but if none of them are interested or available then it's a bit pointless.
  3. It's patently obvious to me that they don't know who they want to replace him (or perhaps can realistically get), else he would be gone by now. The club have shown they're not risk averse by going young on the signings front, but I see them looking for an experienced manager, particularly someone experienced in working with youth. Part of me wonders if they have Roberto Martinez in the crosshairs. Rudi Garcia maybe an outside bet if he fancied a return to proper football.
  4. Don't we have the most points from losing positions this year?
  5. I think Che always contributes no matter the situation, he has a lot of positive attributes but christ alive his finishing needs work.
  6. I think I'm going to stop going to home games. I go to 4-5 a season and haven't seen us win at home since we beat Sunderland 8-0. Never seen us lose away though weirdly.
  7. Good idea regardless of strikes

    JWP Article

JWP has been in poor form this season, and also towards the end of last season. Who does he get in ahead of? He isn't as good defensively as Rice or Phillips (I know he isn't playing for City, but was good for England in the Euros), not as good an attacking option as Bellingham or Mount, and doesn't have the experience of Henderson. We all know JWP is a good player when at his best, but surely even the most blinkered Saints fan couldn't say he should be starting for England at the moment? Also, the article says we're reliant on him? I'd say our good results this season have been in spite of him, not because of him.
  9. Frustrating indeed. I'll be driving down, hopefully traffic won't be too manic.
  10. Bigger strike on the 1st (Everton home) and no talks of postponements on that day so I'd have thought not.
  11. You'd have thought so but the bookies tend to be fairly reliable with this sort of thing
  12. Need a don't know option. I don't rate Ralph particularly but also have a nagging "better the devil you know" feeling.
  13. Worst we've looked this season by a distance. Not shown up at all.
  14. All of the FB/WBs picked have much more experience playing in a back 3/5 than KWP as well which people seem to be overlooking.
  15. My old man was an atc at West Drayton and Swanwick too, you may know him - first name Mike and you'd get the rest from my username if you knew him! He retired around the same time iirc when they started doing redundancies. It's how I ended up growing up in the area. Small world?
  16. My first thought as well
  17. Grew up in Hedge End but now live between Slough and Maidenhead (Taplow). Get to 5-6 games a year, mostly aways but managed to get to St Mary's for the Leeds game this year. Would love to go more but it's an expensive day out with train and/or fuel costs as they are. Keen to meet other local Saints fans for watching games in the pub.
  18. Best 5ft 11 target man the league has ever seen. Cheers Shane.
  19. It is easier just to switch off but there are a lot of impressionable people out there who chose not to so anyone spreading misinformation should be called out in my opinion. Club legend or otherwise. Twitter isn't the place for debate unfortunately. Too easy just to spout your shite and delete a tweet when you get called out on it or just say "you're missing the context".
  20. Sell. JWP is good player for us but not worth close to £75m.
  21. The anti vax stuff is tame compared to some of the shite he comes out with, notably: Saying Christian Eriksen had his heart attack because of the covid vaccine, despite the fact he wasn't vaccinated. Saying people dying from covid in hospital were actors Saying Ukranians being murdered by Russians in Bucha were actors (and then brushing it off by saying "I meant don't believe everything you read" and then dribbling down his chin a bit more) He is obviously right about some things, the government being clowns and Jamie Carraghers continued employment come to mind, but some of the stuff he posts is quite frankly dangerous and outweighs the good. I'll continue to disagree with anyone who says he should be applauded for not taking the popular line. Going on youtube and watching some videos made by crackpot conspiracists and falling for it hook line and sinker is not "doing your own research", it's being an absolute idiot.
  22. Posting conspiracy theories <> "doing your own research" or "keeping an open mind"
  23. My dad is a United fan and says he is the second best player he saw for United after George Best.
  24. Yep If MLT was the only one put out to pasture, he may have a point, but this is demonstrably not what happened.
