  1. I'm sure Pards will go to NC in the morning & plead for him to open the wallet! No Hammond or Morgan for 2-3 weeks is unthinkable. No disrespect to the remaining midfield players - but we are now seriously lacking in the deprtment that we were seriously lacking in!
  2. A good barrage of abuse all evening for him in the return leg then!
  3. Well done lads - and a special thanks to our magnificent travelling fans who were - without doubt - the 12th man! aNice goal Antonio son!
  4. I think because Antonio caused there LB no end of problems in the game at SMS...
  5. 4-5-1 as expected then. 1-1 is my prediction.
  6. I'm hoping so. If not - check back Stu and I'll look for any alternative links. Edit: Just a reminder to the forgetful that the game is a (somewhat weird) 7.00pm kick-off.

  8. Hmm. Can't argue with that. Pub is the best bet of course (other than being at the game itself) - but I'm not sure over here in Waterlooville that any pubs will be showing the game! And even if they are - I aint drinking with no skate bastids. No way.
  9. When the links get posted later on today - click the ones that say 'Media Player' next to them & you shouldn't have any problems at all. No need to install anything/any program in order to watch - just pops up on Media Player.
  10. Jeez. If it catches-on - most American airlines will double their profits overnight!
  11. I think Pards will go with 4-5-1 for the game. Back four of: Thomas - Fonte - Perry - Harding. Midfield: James - Lallana - Morgan - Holmes - Wooton. Lambo up front. Bench: Bart -Antonio - Connelly - Gobern - Mills - Papa - ? Then again - Pards has a habit of springing a surprise or two! I have a firm belief that it will end 1-1.
  12. Indeed. Post no.31 and no-one's blamed Lowe yet for Andrew's travel mishap!
  13. I pick my brand new car up tomorrow & it's a 59 plate. Nothing to do with this thread really - just wanted to be a poser!
  14. Top stuff! Congrats to those concerned even though I haven't a clue as to either 'Andrew' is or all those that helped were. Nice to know we are (mostly I'm sure) one big happy Saints family & I'm sure that the vast majority of us would do the same next time round. Nice ending.
  15. I think it's only a short matter of time before Paul Lambert at Norwich gets a job at one of the struggling lower-Premiership clubs. Very good manager indeed - and at 41-years old - a very bright future ahead.
  16. We should follow the French's decision & ban the burkha. This is modern day Britain in 2010 - a country that's on a constant heightened terrorism alert & anything that may help identify suspects (CCTV, etc) or prevent men evading capture due to wearing one (as per a recent well publised terrorist attack) is what we should be focussing on. Besides - it's nothing to do with religion. It's to do with blokes not wanting other men looking at their woman. If I cast my mind back to the early 1980's and my first ever trip to the Middle East on HM warships - we tied up in a Saudi port (Damman) for a four-day visit. As I was going ashore on the first day one hot sunny afternoon - I was politely informed by the officer of the watch & the QM to go back down below decks & change my smart plain T-shirt & shorts. I asked why (I was dressed smartly & it was 90+ degrees after all) and I was told that "because this is a muslim country & it is considered disrespectful to show your arms & legs - go put on long sleeves and long trousers." So I did. And likewise further visits to Bahrain & Oman. I didn't complain (well...it was either do it or don't go ashore) and that's my point: blend in & do as the locals do. Respect their way of living.

  18. I believe so. It is also being streamed & nearer the time I will post working links.
  19. That's a shame - especially with the 2 cup games coming up. So we're without Jaidi & Hammond for a fortnight - which is not good as they're 2 key players. With the recent additions at the back we've got cover for Jaidi of course although not for the cup games. Midfield is the one department where I think we'd all agree needs sorting by Pards once & for all. I'm really hoping that between now & the end of January - he manages to pull off a masterstroke somewhere & add some real grit & flair to the centre.
  20. Not sure. Anyone know how bad Hammond's knock is/was?
  21. And Pards was right! Antonio did a very good job when he came on. I'd have liked to have seen him 10 minutes earlier...but then I'm not the gaffer!
  22. Just had a quick look at our fixtures coming up for Jan/Feb. Our next 2 games in January are both cup games - but after that - we face Brentford away & Stockport at home in the remainder of the month. February (as regards the league) see's us play Exeter (A), Hartlepool (H), Norwich (A), Wycombe (A) and Walsall (H). The Norwich away game is the pick of the bunch and by far the most difficult game coming up. But other than that - the rest must surely be chalked down as 'winable' - on paper at least. Football's a "funny old game" of course (to coin a phrase) - but the above sequence of games will - without doubt - shape our season as to whether we're good enough to sneak into that magical 6th spot...or not.
  23. Shocking defending from all of 'em!
