  1. Why? Do you want everyone that has a different opinion to you banned from football matches? Bit weird.
  2. It's not looking promising - apparently seven members of the Royal Family took a flight to Aberdeen. Fair play to her - I'm not sure I could have done the same job for my entire life (even with all the trappings that go with it).
  3. Have the bank of England got it wrong? Traditionally, the way to combat inflation is to raise interest rates - make it more attractive to save money, less attractive to spend money / take out credit, thus the 'demand' within the economy drops and prices start to fall (houses, consumer goods etc). However, with the current issues, inflation is largely being driven by the cost of fuel increases (some price increases as well but these are largely due to costs of production / transportation increasing due to fuel). Raising interest rates in this instance isn't going to be anywhere near as effective as it traditionally is. People haven't got the choice to stop paying their fuel bills (heating, cooking etc) and most won't have a huge amount of discretion when it comes to vehicle fuel (work commutes etc), so raising the interest rates isn't going to be taking money out of the economy to decrease demand and lower prices. Very basic economics and I'm aware that it is far more 'nuanced' in the real world, but is raising the interest rates going to do more harm than good in this instance (increased mortgages, increased rent, increased repossessions)?
  4. Do you think they might be renting it?
  5. Why would somebody with 'right of centre' political views possibly want to defend a PM who started life as a lib dem? This may be the first PM in the history of British politics that has united the entire country - if not now, give it a couple of weeks!
  6. Whatabout, whatabout. Hand on heart, is Jacob Rees Mogg the best person for the business, energy and industrial strategy secretary? I imagine his first initiative will be to bring back the workhouse given his track record as the Brexit opportunities and Government efficiencies minister
  7. Is there any other organisation in the world (except maybe a local rugby club?) where the person in charge gets to put their 'mates' in the most responsible positions? No wonder the country is an utter shambles most of the time when the people charged with running it can't be considered to be even close to the 'best person for the job'.
  8. Judging by Russia's recent supply chain fiasco, they might not even get winter.
  9. Especially when she 'handed her notice in' to Boris!
  10. No wonder the Dame and her team rode roughshod over the rules and procedures and developed such a poor performing culture. She probably took her cues from the very top of the London Leadership team. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-62766240 #doesanyonehaveafuckingcluewhattheyaredoing?
  11. From the BBC 'Live' page - looks like the West wants to impose sanctions on Russia but keep the oil flowing as long as the price is right!! I imagine the Russian 'retalitation' will include more faulty spark plugs, spontaneous combustion of warships and plenty of white bed sheets being waved around.
  12. Another £5 investment in a hot water bottle and thousands can be saved on heating. Boris is a genius after all.
  13. Testing out their semaphore skills.
  14. I imagine they have a fairly strong 'custom and practice' argument to be fair....
  15. Presumably the 'illness' was Polonium related.... Won't be long before they run out of Generals and high-profile business executives.
  16. Good job she earnt £18m from her one win. Not sure she'll earn a lot more....
  17. Is OUR military not part of NATO? In what scenario would OUR military be going toe to toe with the Russians on OUR own?
  18. You also said, waaaay further up that NATOs own borders wouldn't stop the mighty Russian Army and that their troops would be marching on good old blighty by Xmas. I think you also mentioned that should we get into a bun fight with the mighty Russian Army our military would be wiped out in a weekend.
  19. Nah. That can't be right, there aren't any tractors....
  20. Stockholm syndrome?
  21. Money made from the sale of Chelsea (which was allegedly all going to Ukraine) : £2.5bn. So in real terms it is yet to 'cost' us a penny....
  22. Because they weren't scared of nuclear....
  23. The "Romney Marsh Stronghold" - has a swinging sign outside of a horse and armour clad knight slaying a dragon. It's been empty since lockdown but apparently has recently started to get quite busy....
  24. Might make some of those electric car owners a little less smug...
