The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
Weston Super Saint replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Has this set a precedent for future votes? Will the whip be withdrawn after every opposing vote? Will we end up with more Independents in the HoC before the year is out? -
1. Why does it matter who owns an 'English' football club? We use / buy / support so many other companies in our day to day lives that are owned by 'foreigners' that we don't even question or bat an eyelid about. Does anyone question the ownership of Lidl, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Tesco? 2. Money talks. The club's owners do so to earn money, why shouldn't they be involved in it? If there is demand, there will be supply. 3. No. It came into play to 'level the playing field'. It failed, miserably. All it did was put restrictions on clubs with smaller income streams to ensure they could never compete. Essentially a good idea but not thought through. 4. No.

The rich just keep getting richer. Going 'green' has certainly been good for Charlie! He gets a tidy little profit from every wind offshore wind farm. No wonder he's been so keen to push his agenda.

If not, he's definitely pretending to. -

Is that a football shirt or a price list? -
I thought you've been telling us for months that the entire party was extreme/hardcore right wing.
-
The fact we made an offer at all was generous.

I stand corrected - I read he was staying at home.

No. Or Lallana.
-
Apart from the £100+m he helped secure when we got promoted, but other than that you're right. Nothing.
-
It's the US of A. You've described the perfect candidate.
-
Recognition. Finally.
-
Thank you.

Thanks for the reasoned response Odd that this only came out today though (or maybe it didn't?).

Surely a 'war crime' can only be commited during an actual war. I guess they are classing the attack on Israel as a declaration of war?
-
1,000 civil servants working on a half baked, hair brained plan and not one of them complained about how pointless it was. Maybe they were happy riding the gravy train to nowhere? If so, does that say more about the effectiveness of the civil service?

Finally! The sound of music will be replacing the light show this season.

I'd be impressed if he manages 18 games in the prem, let alone goals. Mind you if he does get 'tapped up' it's likely that'll injure him for 6 months or so.

Yes. Will force people to learn some self control.

So far, using 1/3 of his transfer fee (3 year contract) plus his £20k per week salary, he has cost us £46k per minute played. Probably not the best return on our investment.
-
To be fair, there was also "they did something to someone else" as well.
-
Maybe it will be a better deterrent than the measly four years for rape?

I guess it's pointless me telling you that the US would have agreed to that, but won't agree to the same for Israel in a war they are sponsoring, as you will already know that.
