That's why Adams is a Championship striker
-
Plus a bollocking for KWP for losing the ball
-
Like to see Djenpo have a run at those Liverpool centre halves
-
I certainly wouldn't mind if we offloaded Vestergaard
-
Agreed. Tella's ball in had little pace on it. Had it had more, I think Adams doesn't give the keeper the chance to make the block
-
Think there is still something for us here
-
I maybe wrong here, but I thought he asked to be relieved of being captain. Sure I read that he didn't want it as it was affecting his game.
-
Sadly as Saints fans we all know that the board like to acknowledge things without ever doing anything about it!
-
Would have liked to have seen him stay, not as a first team regular but decent back up. Can't blame him for looking the best deal. Not sure where he goes though to be honest. Never going to be a starter for any of the top 10 I would have thought.
-
Agreed. Don't think we will see Betrand on the pitch again for us, like PEH.
-
Actually think we will get something from this one. Am going for one all.
-
Agree about the investment. I would love to see Ralph get proper backing in the transfer market. Three or four quality players that he has identified would make so much difference to our squad. I think for me, until he is backed properly, it's difficult to judge him.
-
Would take Mee and Tarkowski absolutely. Pope also, big upgrade and what we have in terms of keeping at the moment.
-
Think after the recent run of games, I'd be inclined to stick with McCarthy. As mentioned, not much to choose between them both, however, McCarthy just shades it for me as he seems a bit more agile and gets down quicker.

I remember that pub from my younger days. Like most round that way, think it's a One Stop now.
-
To be honest, not sure he would even make my top ten of best players. Possibly top ten forwards but not top ten as a whole.
-
So, is it now possible that Ings has played his last game for us now?

Le Tiss is an absolute legend in my eyes, no question. The greatest player ever to pull on the red and white. I've no interest in what he posts on Twitter, it's a free country and he is entitled to an opinion. Le Tiss gave me some of my happiest moments whilst supporting Saints.

If you judging a season by the number of defeats, we are heading for 20 defeats this season. That number of defeats would, on most season's see you occupy one of the bottom three slots. That's an unacceptable number, especially for a side that doesn't end up going down. The fact that draws are in single figures also highlights that we aren't hard to break down and that we can't even close out a game for a point.

He might not have a choice if these niggles and tweaks keep occurring or get worse.

Southampton 1-1 Leicester - Match Thread

We are heading for 20 defeats this season. For a team that is going to avoid relegation, that's completely unacceptable. Any other season and 20 defeats would likely see relegation. -
I get the reasons for that, but you could have a Puell situation all over again. Sacrifice entertainment for results. Claude was the ultimate pragmatist. Although on the flip side, he won't go down in history as a coach with two 9-0 defeats on his record.
-
Get what you are saying. I think in any other season he would have to have gone though. If fans were at SMS I think the pressure would have been huge. Not saying it would have got to Puell or Hughes levels, but think it would have gotten pretty uncomfortable for both Ralph and the board. I really do commend the board for the loyalty that they have showed Ralph, and I like him, I really wanted him to be a success, but its not working at the moment, for whatever reason.
-
I think he would have gone if we could have afforded to sack him. There seems no other logical explanation.

Yeah, think Van A is out of our reach which is a shame. The trouble we have is, that the players we want to shift our so average that we just can't find buyers for them. I hate the idea of further loans for them, but seems we have no choice when it comes to the likes of Hoedt and Lemina. I also find it madness that we have agreed to send Gunn back on another loan to Stoke. I don't rate him that much and, although I know he has been out with an injury, he doesn't seem to have pulled up too many trees there. I appreciate we paid decent money for him, but I would have looked to sell even if it meant taking a hit on the fee.
