Toy executives were initially taken back by the follow up suggestion to Cabbage Patch Dolls. But having conceded that kids want cooler things and that the idea was certainly edgy, decided to greenlight the "fucking boring prick" range. π

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
Holmes_and_Watson replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
From Beeb Authorities have not confirmed the identity or nationality of the perpetrator in New Orleans. The FBI has confirmed the deadly attack is being investigated as an "act of terrorism" and the suspect is dead. -
A lovely post. Thank you Christophe, and all the very best for you and yours this year and beyond.

Had it not been for the second sentence, that could have been a news item from any of the last 10 transfer windows. π

I like to think that young Elon reassessed his IT career, and didn't let some of the blunter responses prevent him turning out normal and fulfilled. π

I saw that. But he'll be back in two weeks. π

Happy New Year everyone!

It's going to have to be a very late entry to snatch the Smugboots of the year award away now. π I caught some of his interview on the radio. He seemed proud of the longevity he's had at clubs, and warm to the relationships he's had with owners. He seemed to look back at that as a success in itself, considering the criticism and difficult situations he's managed through.

You can see the MLG ripple effect on the board after someone triggers him with "s...t...a...d...i...u...m" π

That felt a little awkward to read. Sadly, no one has bought SOG a clue for Christmas. And 2025 beckons with a range of such idiocy on any number of topics. I wonder if Musk's Mars craft will be methane powered, as we have an endless BS generator here.

Harsh on Forster. It was the passing back that made him look like a lump the other week! π There are indeed. "Any regrets?" and "Are you following health and safety with all the lifting out the net you're doing?" come to mind. π

Sure, it didn't get the acclaim of Field of Dreams, but I thought Costner was good in Field of Wasters. His watching the spirits of great players of the past walk away from the emptying stands he sold out to corporate incompetents, played by Razzy winner R. Ankerson, was moving. Well, bowel moving at least. π

Just quickly fixing that typo. π

Saints 0-5 Brentford - Match Thread
Holmes_and_Watson replied to Convict Colony's topic in The Saints
For those not versed in the subject, in this context, it's the correlation between the inflation of Ankerson's self confidence and the corresponding drop in confidence of Saints ever getting a win. π -
A stepping stone club, as SR look to capture the US/Netflix market by appointing him as our manager next season? Beard Elite experience to go with asst manager Lallana Consistent playing philosophy Γn the face of dreadful results. Looking to bounce back after "failure" / The Mr Football test. π
-
He's a busy man, so I guess only the flagship team in the group gets one. π It can't possibly be him trying to bask in any credit from the club doing well, avoiding the others.
-
I'd have thought that would go against SR's core of Keep individual wages low So that profit on sell on is maximised. I think all parties could win with a move. With the possible exception of fans π

You are using technology with a maximum of the speed of light. Only someone with vast experience of navel gazing over minutiae travels at the speed of lint. You didn't stand a chance. π

From TV Licensing Live TV means any programme you watch or record as itβs being shown on any channel, TV service or streaming service. Itβs not just live events like football, cricket, news and music. It also covers soaps, series, documentaries and even movies. So, if watched as it aired, Wallace and Gromi would be live TV. Not just because they're real, which they are. π

There's the scenario where, having not settled at Chelsea's player farm, he looks to develop further here, getting lots more minutes next season, to ensure the best landing at an elite club. Lots of game time with us...in the Championship...which he's already better than and in which the last manager didn't play him. A scenario skidding across the road in the first sentence and right off it in the second. π His performances and potential this year will allow his reps to negotiate a much better deal than the last time he left. He backs himself, and can hopefully develop at a higher level, or use it as a base for loan minutes at worst at a level probably higher than us too. Dibling can follow the Tino, Lavia departures as validating part of SR's approach and making us attractive to similar players. Fernandes and THB may also be others to come.
