This is absolutely spot on. I reckon if clubs actually asked supporters' wanted, most rational people would say the same. Me personally I still love that football. Seeing a screamer from nowhere, a crunching tackle, giving a "big club" the occasional bloody nose or a nipper coming through the academy and performing for the first team. These things give me real joy. All this noddy social media bollocks, trying to push brandng like "we march on" its bollocks. I look back at the pandemic and cant help but think football had a real chance to change and the boat was missed.

What players will you miss, should they leave, when we go down?

I forgot about that. Jesus that was bleak. -
He (like most of them) is completely paralysed by fear. Scared to try, scared of getting it wrong so goes simple. I reckon you can trace it back to the miss against Man United in our second game last season I think. 1 on 1 and missed it. It's been like that since then. Newcastle 2nd leg chance as an example. No composure, no belief. Needs a move away.

Normally I would agree, but it's about time they took their share of the blame. Their underperformance, piss poor decision making and lack of any fight has gone on for two seasons. If somehow it did get round the dressing room tough shit. About time they took a good hard look at themselves. With the exception of JWP

If it is, he wouldn't even entertain Southampton (nor should he) If they do sack him, I think he waits and maybe takes over WHU in the summer.
-
The formations seem irrelevant because the payers either A - can't implement what they are instructed to do B - The plan is too predictable or worse C - A mixture of both. I expect a comfortable afternoon for Leicester which includes huffing and puffing from us, crosses nowhere near our incredibly tall CF and defensive mistakes from our laughably inept defenders. 1-4 Leicester

He needs a move. Even if he goes on to score elsewhere he needs a move.
-
I disliked Nathan Jones as much as the next fella, but even he identified that we do "stupid things" which has cost us so many times this season. He did continue to pick those players though which didn't help.
-
Lyanco, Bednarek and Adam Armstrong. The forst two are just hopeless but Armstrong looks like he has deeper issues. He seems completely drained of all confidence/ability and needs a move ASAP

I love Lavia but have accepted he will be leaving regardless of what league we play in next year. He solves a lot of teams higher up the food chains issues in midfield quite easily. I will genuinely be upset about JWP playing elsewhere, especially if he breaks the record for another team. I did a post a while back about lesser clubs having an "iconic" player. I think he's a shoe in for West Ham to replace RIce and that makes me sad. -
I thought whilst we lacked a cutting edge for the first 20 minutes our attitude towards the game and opponents were decent. I should have known that Lyanco would do something as reckless as what he ended up doing. I'm just so sick and tired of the same players doing the same stupid things over and over again. When we lose to Leicester on Saturday there needs to be an acceptance of relegation and the team should to look like what it will for the following championship season.

FC is great. I was more referring to their "football podcast" and its even bled into TFS too now which is a shame.
-
That reminds me I need to cancel my subscription. Just listen to some of their "audio" content should give enough insight on their knowledge. Massive hypocrites (as most are) too. "Bet responsibly" whilst the whole show is what's the odds etc etc
-
I guess it also puts to bed the same questions being asked again and again in press conferences etc. I hope it works. I am way more optimistic about survival than I was two weeks ago. Still think we have too much to do but I am certainly more hopeful.
-
The easy thing for him to say to the players after that result would be to lavish them with praise etc. I like that he told them it's not enough and we have to do it again. That shows a person who is confident in their abilities and that they have faith in their methods. Something that was missing entirely from the Jones period. I hope he works out for us.

When we were awarded that free kick, I celebrated it like a goal. There was zero doubt in my mind he was not going to score. That area of the pitch, that distance from goal is absolutely perfect for Ward-Prowse. It's actually good for the PL that the lesser teams have a player who is identifiable with that team. Zaha at Palace for example. It used to happen in Europe (Totti at Roma, Di Natale at Udinese, could argue Kane at Spurs) We had it with Ings and I always think it chips away at the sporting integrity when these players leave, especially for clubs outside of the top 6. I hope whatever happens this season he breaks the record whilst being a Southampton player.

Any recommendations on Iphone apps that I can use to watch the games? I can then cast to my TV. I've just got a decent VPN, just need a platform now.
-
They've been patchy. Their "flair players" have so far been underwhelming. Chelsea 4 Saints 1
-
Indeed it's not. However it's not something thats been in large supply recently so can't be a bad thing.

I wish him well and hope he learns from the whole episode. I think he needs some support with what appears to be some crippling anxiety. I think if he could get over the imposter syndrome that would really help too. Wrong person for us but should never have been in the job in the first place.

I think a more illustrative video doing the rounds is the one where he greats Gnonto when he arrived t Leeds. Young people/players are impressionable and Marsch made him feel included and important from the moment he met him. I think he will really embrace the younger players and maybe even begin to give the illusive "pathway" for players lie Ballard etc. I know the math suggests we are fairly close to getting out of it, but I am fairly resigned to relegation. Someone who can get a recognisable style of play, mix in some of the youth players with a solid core of players I think we could have some fun next season. Which in the grand scheme of things is all I really want from watching football
-
Was this the wrong thing to do then?
-
After some time to digest the Marsch news, I am more OK with it then I was when it first came to light. I guess my only thought on it, is his style of play suited to using a CF like Onuachu? His strengths do not seem alligned with the "high press" etc. Maybe we will get players around him that can do it an build from there. I just hope we can all now focus on the rest of the season, see what happens and have a better run of things next season, regardless of the division we start in.

Away games you’re looking forward to next year (assuming we get relegated)

I think the Championship would result in me actually getting a ST for the first time since Koeman left. My lad will be 16 too then and I can get him to come up and down the country similar to what we and my pals did in the L1 Championship days
