I have sadly come to the conclusion - and apologies that its taken me so long, but I do like to give folks the benefit of the doubt - you know, see the best in people, but I have come to the conclusion that Appy is simply too stupid to get it. If he had a shread of intelligence, a shread of integrity and a brain of any kind really what he should have been saying to the press and fans is really rather different.... So in a parallel universe where Appy is a top man he recently said: Official statement following announcemnet that none of the current 1 month deals will be renewed (M Appy - Parallel Universe) ''I know its tough on fans, but as manager I have to stand for what is right and together we need to make good - we need the people of Portsmouth , the local businesses and the charities to believe in us again - to see we have really put the wrongs of the past behind us. As difficult as it may be for fans to witness, we will be playing our youngsters - I cannot morally justify spending money on player wages in excess of the bear minimum to put out a team, whilst the club has unpaid debts to creditors and whilst the repayment of that debt is a pittidul 0.2p in the pound - It simply goes against everything I stand for, and would be an affront to my personal and professional integrity - I thereforre call on all fans to support this action, get behind these lads and whatever teh results recognise that this is the only way we can hold our heads up high, and regain some much needed pride and self respect in our club. I will now answeer any questions you may have....''

NObody does - but suspect there is a simple explanation and final bits and pieces are being sorted rather than anything sinister.

If its redundancy, I dont believe any are enforceable - irrespective of teh level of compensation they give you - If they want to cover thmeselves they need to pay you gardening leave PLUS your entitle compensation. Different if its a compromise agreement - as they usually come with all sorts of shiiedt - but a classic case of the longer they restrict you working for competitors etc, the bigger the pay out will need to be.
-
Not saying they would not fit in well or within the strategy, but suspect we would struggle to convince some of them to come to a newly promoted side - if we land ramirez, we have to take our hat off to NC for convincing a player of that poetential to come here and see what he can do - yes money talks, but it will be a coop nontheless.

NO its NOT a yo yo strategy - its a riskier one than filling the side with established journeymen in terms of first season survival, but it is not planned to go down and up, down and up, but to stay up and progress. And it has been made clear to supporters. The frsutration stems form nervousness - null point after two games in which we clearly demonstrated that we are close but not quite there yet in terms of having a side that will not only survive but begin to progress... a few exciting additions, maybe as Kracken says one old campaigner and we will be there IMHO. Dont confuse a plan of higher risk with one designed to save money (which is the classic Yo-Yo) - we appear to have capital to invest in quality youth - and teh hope is they gell fast enough and add enough to ensure we not only stay up but set a foundation for improvement in years 2 and beyond - relegation is NOT a diaster, but there is noway NC will be even contemplating it (although the wise man does ensure contracts cover this just in case).

True but those are of quality 'B' and 'C' and none of those cost a huge amount nor are they all likely to be long term first team starters - getting 'A' quality signings in their 'prime' (eg 26-29) tends to be players in the hideous price/wage bracket that is way beyond our realistic level at this time. So we go for thsoe who we believe will become this standard in 2-4 years time - with teh risk being whether they are good enough now to keep us up etc. Even that said, they are already pricey and have more options - interest form bigger clubs etc. Not saying its ideal, but seems that some are quick to accuse the club of somehow being slow or crap in the transfer market, without actually looking at what our strategy is, or recognising the challenges it poses - fair enough if some dont agree with the strategy, but the approach we are taking in transfers seem to be designed for the startegy the club has adopted so is not 'wrong' from that perspective. As I said its risky, but has the advantage of quality players developing further at saints - those who really make it will be targeted by bigger clubs for sure, but at least we will have had the luxury of seeing tehm achieve something with us first - and a big transfer fee that funds the next generation - if the end result is some cyclic flirtation with Europe than I think most ill be very happy indeed.
-
Dont dispute the need for em Alps - but suggesting that finding players who are better and have longer term potential that a) dont cost 10mil+ and b) actually want to come here is not as easy as some are suggesting - yes we may struggle without them, but we should not 'panic buy' tp grab teh only option - I also believe that we will have been looking at CB options from back in May - just as always the club keeps this quiet as possible and some things simply dont come off.
-
PS - and wvery club in teh prem is after quality centre backs - thin on the ground IMHO opinion

Couple of points - no way is any club interested in a Yo Yo strategy - Blackpool or West brom all want to be top flight and stay top flight, but being sensible clubs, and in blackppols case with infrastructure development needs they use the money wisely and dont go mad - they are not survive at all costs clubs which is different to 'planning to to go down' - just realistic about what budget can be afforded etc There is no way on earth that NC would be 'happy' yo yo ing never . However what some of you are not recognising is that we do have a strategy that is focussed on younger talent that we can take with us to the next level - its risky, yes and may mean we do struggle to start with and this is why Nige will be under tremedous pressure - it would be easy to sign journeymen with experience, but we have made a decision to go with younger talent that is of suffiecient quality to cut it in the prem from the off - a narrow brief and more limited stock of players - and that means we are up against clubs already more established in the prem (eg Swansea) or much bigger clubs sauch as Man U in the case of Buttner - Means more work to convince them to come to a newly promoted sides - more expensive players and importantly from clubs that are quite happy to use our interest to kick strt bdding wars etc. I would rather we signed players that fit our profile than panic buy to satisfy fans views on what is needed. If we see it, then you can bet that teh managemnet team KNOW we do, but wont be forced into expensive signings if the players are simply not right longer term. Easy to criticise the clubs as having left it too late blah b;lah, but reality is they will ahve been working on this for a LONG time, but there are never any guarrantees that the targets come off. If we get through this year and survive, next season will be easier, but when you are most 'pundits' favourites for relegation, getting teh players you want is never going to be easy.

Lets be hinest, most of the folk you actually liked at school - really liked, you will have stayed in touch with - one or two you really liked but somehow did loose track of you found on Friends Reunited in the late 90s or Facebook since The folks that mostly go to these things are either those desperate to lord it up and show how successful they have been, or those that want to cop off with an ex or desperate housewife When I looked up 'where are they now' on Friends Reunited way back, all the 'in crowd, cool kids' at school were all still living locally, and not done a great deal, you never liked them when at school, so why do you think you will like them now? And yes, the cliche is true, the hot babes from school will all be 'large', unhappily married with 3 kids - the quiet shy girls that no one was interested in, who did well in class etc, all went off to Uni, blossomed into attractive women and would not be seen dead at a school reunion! ... Or am I being too cynical?

There was an interesting point made by a not so mad skate in response tro that article - GIven that when Portpin sold to CSI, Portpoin retained control as CSI never paid Portpin for Pompey, just began loaning the club money (from the bank accounts of innocent lithuanians....), Portpin in effect failied to honour one penny of the CVA1 - Would this not be reasonable groundsf for Portpin and Chinney to fail a FAPPT?

Nothing new... Royals always been doing this sort of thing - Old Henry the 8th 6 wives and countless mistresses - Liz the first was not adverse to a regular portion of c ock (similar to a more recent princess) - it used to be expected of them, was only that sour old prune Victoria who was such a prude, yet even her fine upstanding Prince Albert liked a decent hooker on a regular basis... Its common Knowledge that their son Edward VII was so into the *****, he took hi doc with him on outings to check for the clap (might have made that bit up...or was he Jack the Ripper?) Then you had the bloke who resigned form his job as King to play hide the sausage with what must ahve been the ugliest American on the planet at that time .. and a Nazi - no wonder she was divorced, bloke probably woke up after a 3 day bender in Vegas married to that and fecked right off then and there... lets not forget in more recent times 'Randy Andy' who like a stripper/Glamour model or 2 preferably at the sma etime - Koo stark I believe enjoyed his favour.... so nothing to see here really, just keeping up tradition !

Seriously I dont think it has - pretty normal most likely, just that there ahs never been more scrutiny and interest which manifests itself on twitter with rumour and counter rumour - seems loike hard work because NO ONE has fricken clue what is REALLY going on...

In the skate world they deserve 6 pts for a draw... in the real world the -10 cannot be applied until they exit admin as the 'new' CVA diluted the old one so FL have said they will dock another -10 - that said the CCs (cheating c....) believe they might avoid it somehow...

We; I think you need to be better able to differentiate between active planning and aspirational goals....

It is good to see the trust well and truely adopting the pompey spirit though and making sure no one who has been agreed payment gets more that 20-25% or much less of that they are owed... which considereing they have been so vigorous in their complaints about all thier owners, it is strange that they are planning to behave in exactly the same way before even taking over... given that publc statement, I call on the FA to ensure they dont pass the FAPPT as I belive they wanted it much stricter in future to prevent those without a pot to **** in, full of s hit and not planning to pay their bills in full to be prevented form owning the club... declaring they will welch upon agreed compromises kinda makes them fall into the shyster category, but good to see they fit right in with the rest of them

Who wants Adkins in the sack? Redknapp - that would be disturbing.... leave Adkins to his missus please! Or have i missed the point of this thread? Think my suggestion is just as silly....

... I know there are several companies that buy STs in the normal stands as corporate freebies and giveaways etc - where I used to sit in te Itchen the 8 seets in the row behind where like this... not sure hiow this would work now with the smart card - but seems like there is something a bit odd with the ticketing process. Re Granty's point on the clubs quoting the tickets sold v actual turn up - They must have an official turnstile number somewhere, would have thought this was a requirement for fire/health and safety so would be interesting to know what it is... ... maybe an odd thought, but the whole red strip thing did sort of blend into the seats especially when watching on teh fuzzy online stream - made it look really empty in some places - contrast against those in stripey tops

Got A levels? Go back to UNI and get a Physio degree or the traditional route through nursing - If you want to end up at a pro club, chose wisely, as there are plenty of 'sports massage' courses at colleges of varying quality, but best bet to be taken seriously is to ensure it comes with the Health and Care Professions Council (replaced the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine (CPSM) in 2012) level qualification - which would allow you to work within the NHS or privately or as I guess at saints! ;-)

Does anyone believe the wider footballing community gives feck what we are talking about on here? and even if they do, its only teenagers who are 'embarrased' by a bunch of scrotes on a web forum... or it should be anyway
