After 118 pages of guff, BS, tweets and rumour, we finaly get somethjing worth logging on for. Mrs C is now extremely concerned as I have tears steaming down my face and am in that hideous pain you get when you just laugh whay too much - what more she saw me first looking at the bouncing Norks on teh ramierez thread and now Tokyo playing the two backed beast with Bearsy... I sense a less than 'normal' evening and maybe some discussion with lawyers...

So looking at the multitude of conflicyting tweets, BS, gossip rumour etc...... As I see it Saints- Ramierz - Bologna all sorted Saints - Penerol the sticking point - originially we were going to bung them 1.5 mil euros which they were happy with - then we agreed to pay more upfront to Bologna and this is where the tweets split into two directions as far as I can see 0 so we several options as to what the sticking point is: 1) We are insisting that Bologna pay Penerol their due from what we are paying Bologna - whichj will not happen as we know 2) We are paying Bologna the extra 1.5 which means we want to renegotiate the deal with Penerol, either as a sell on or as a staged payment 3) All is agreed on the 1.5 mil payment for his 30% to penerol, but not on the mysterious addditional 600k 'training' fee which someone tweeeted was a FIFA entitlement - there appears to be confusion on this. As we saw last week - these things CAN and I believe WILL be overcome - the issue with paymnet top Bologna were resolved and they appeared alot more difficult than the remaining issue with Penerol. Keep the faith. If this does not happen, it wont be because we screwed it up or mistakes were ade, but simply because the demands made by various interested parties were simply not in our bets interests - there does come a time when you have to walk away no matter how interesting the player is.

Made ALL the mistakes - came in with us and never slept through the night - climbed out of cot the moment she could and tumbled into our bed - I got feet in head all night never slept for about 4 years:scared: - but would not have missed it for the world - travel quite a bit with work soused to catch up on sleep when away form home - hotels rooms became small luxuries All good stuff - mistakes are part of it and trust me after about 3 weeksyou will be sick of all the advice you craved - especially Mother in Law in full on advioce mode! I guess part of the problem we are having with all this is that we 'are ahead of schedule' - just a thought but as we look at the ages of the current signings and those such as WP and LS etc, + the signings of Ramirez (hopefully) and Mayuka, Rodrieges, clyne etc - and with players like Lee and Adam, spiderman etc still with their best to come... its pretty clear we have a side of potential - especially clear when you see us moving towards more dynamic modern styles like 4231 etc - place the squad against this and we seem to building to have at least 2 in each of those positions that are still in their development - if we get Ramierez and a CB or 2 and believe LS will be Left back of choice in a couple of years - then IMHO, that is a young squad that could do something really good within a couple of years - the problem many have identified is that will it be able to do enough within the this and next season to stay up? Think how you feel about the current signings for the most part depends on how worried we are by relegation, the chance of it or the impact on the club financially and in terms of developing this squad. Positives for me are that we seem to be following the strategy - good young players with potential that can play a modern dynamic style eg 4231, who should develop as a unit and play as they gain experience of each other and familiarity of their roles - and possibly play the exciting and entertaining brand of football that has been alluded to.... the only negative as far as I can see is that we may not have the time within the next 36 games for the 'plan' to come together... Still much rather we are doing what we are doing, than buy a bunch of journeymen playing 442 at home and 451 away - that would be reactionary and short termist.

First time this bunch have played together for a while - and its Stevenages cup final (as much as I hate that patronizing shiedt) tehir players will be raising it to test themselves a against a prim side - albeit our reserves

Only problem I had with this was we did become quite narrow at times unless Fox or the RB got forward - in L1/CCC not that much a problem, but in Prem likely to get nastily exposed down the flanks?

Thats seem fair - Lee could afterall stay out wide and you just have Ramierz and Adam interchanging - as long as on smae wavelength and dont the flank exposed... if Cork develops he could fit into the '2' and might add the attacking dimension from there... seemed that the goals against Man City when they flooded forward was almost in this mode - which was whyt I was confused we didn't try and do more of this against wigan...

Thats the baby - Ideally where we have Spiderman and davis you have two that can be both defensive and atatcking and rotate to supplemnet the front 4 - with the 3 also interchaging now and then - especially attacking if full backs get foward as well - but potentially vunerabl eto a counter if you lose the ball - but great to watch!

Mid life crises aint so bad... I am sure it will pass and we will resume hostilities at some point On the 4231 - do you think in Adam, Ramierez and Lee they would have enough about them to interchange a bit? I also like the Germans play it (although they need a fully fit Schweinsteiger for it to work) with him interchanging with Khadiera in creating an attacking 5/6 when in pocession + the full backs Lahm and Boateng also over lapping - need some pace though or get exposed - but nice to watch.

At last ... I knew given time you would actually agree with something I have said (see post 5494 of this thread)

Quite like this biut would go more 4231 - in an ideal world we ould have ramierz, adma and Lee being able to interchnage as well, to keep everyone guessing - having them pop up here and there etc... but possibly too much to ask...
