No thanks. Not what we need in my opinion. Not quick enough or tough enough. Not much better than what we've got and thats before the summer bonanza!

The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread

How about giving Moritz Volz a go at right back. -
Glad to see the deadwood being cleared out. None of those released would have been certain first teamers in Div 1 so they are certainly not good enough for where we are heading. Sure AP and NC have already identified their targets and hopefully we'll get to see a few rolling in soon.

Possibly the worst refereeing display of the season. All three officials were totally inept and shouldn't even be in charge of a tyro game. Missed two penalties and numerous other fouls. We didn't create a lot but you do expect a pen when its as clear as it was tonight.

I thought we were as poor tonight as we have been impressive in the previous few home games. Fair play to Swindon who came and worked hard to give us no time. Maybe after the Leeds second half they realised they had to get up us. Not too many positives really. Think we missed Ostemobor making the overlapping runs to take one of the covering defenders away from Puncheon. The width was non-existent tonight and when it did go wide the quality of crossing was very disappointing. Puncheons corners were mostly dreadful and our training ground set piece was sadly comical! I also felt that we resorted to the hoof ball up front far too early. Final point, I was amazed at how poor Lloyd James was when he came on. Every time he took a touch and almost waited for the defender to shut him down. His striking through the ball was terrible resulting in skewed or low trajectory crosses. Just glad we've at leat got the JPT to look forward to.

Thought our back four were immense today, especially Jaidi and Fonte. Considering the ref was of premier league standard I thought he was absolutely diabolical. Great game and great result.

I will certainly be watching the World Cup when it comes around but not with the same passion or interest as in previous years. It may be because we are out of the top flight and a temporarily a little more removed from any England squads. I will certainly be watching the likes of Spain, Italy and Brazil but often I find these teams infuriating due to all the diving and cheating! At least in League one it tends to be a bit more of a mans game. Back to the World Cup, I think my fondest memories of a World Cup was Italia 90. Still at school, full of wide eyed optimism and belief, unlike now, full of cynicism and irritation. They just don't make international footballers like they used to!

As I write this I have England against Egypt on the tv in the background and have just realised that I am not bothered about watching England. I can't bring myself to cheer on John Terry or Ashley Cole (injured, I know) or even many of their team mates who almost condone their poor and irresponsible behaviour. At present at Southampton we have got a squad of good professionals and it is great to be able to praise a player without having to add an additional line of "if only he didn't" or "if only he hadn't". I struggled to support Dyer and BWP after their antics (and before in all honesty!) and I am just over the moon that at present we have a good club and a set of honest, law abiding, and responsible professionals who seem to realise their role as positive role models. Long may it continue and, unlike so many other clubs, lets keep making headlines for all the right reasons.

Already training with Brum!

Would love us to convince Robert Lewandowski to join but sure Saga would warn him off!

Thought he was lacking several yards of pace but did a good job. Reads the game well and would be a quality right back in L1.
-
Positives: I thought we played well in the 1st half. Thomas had a very good half and it was never a pen! Kelvin made some fantastic saves. Mills had a good game including a goal and a fantastic last ditch tackle. Murty looked solid and although not the quickest he reads the game well. Negatives: Some of the passing at points was poor and too often possession was just given away. The whole team is lacking pace, especially up front and at the back. Molyneux was very disappointing. All in all, a reasonable performance against a team that was quality.

"I don't like people who drain my time and energy. If you've seen the Harry Potter films, we use the term 'dementors' - people who can draw the life out of you in terms of your energy. So we eradicate the 'dementors', encourage the positive people, and that spreads around to create the team spirit we have here" Alan Pardew quote Quite a few dementors in our set up and this forum!!!

More than happy with his appointment. Good solid English manager who will instill a little discipline into our unruly mob!

I can't wait for the game. I'll get to see what view my new season ticket will give me! Six weeks ago I'd have happily taken a drubbing from Ajax if it meant that we'd still have a club. Now we've got an owner who has the potential money to invest and ANY new manager that many fans were clamouring for. So what if we get beaten on Saturday... we are at the beginning of a very, very long and often uphill road.
-
Good riddance. Never played with any passion or drive.

I think it looks pretty smart. Can we still sing yellows, yellows even though its mainly blue!
-
Just bought my new season ticket. Simply can't wait!

Off to get my season ticket this afternoon. Was just wondering what happens if you buy your ticket and then on the first game of the season you find out the two blokes in front are 6ft 5inches tall and block your view more than any supporting post could! Is there the opportunity to change seats if they're still available?
