Forget about the manager and tactics, etc. The simple problem is that we don’t take our chances. Since Lambert and Pellegrino we have had nobody who can find the back of the net. If we had a decent striker we would be top half!

In my younger and more immature days I used to ttake great pleasure in arguing with rugby friends about how rubbish rugby was. However, now I am a convert and love the game. Given a choice between watching England rugby match or an England football match, I’d pick rugby every time. Saints still just edge it over Exerter Chiefs though.

Liverpool agree world-record £75m deal for Virgil van Dijk
Scoobysaint replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
We must have got a new manager lined up, maybe Tuchel will be tempted with money to spend. Surely they can’t trust MP with the cash. They wouldn’t at the start of the season so they can’t let him have it now. -
I've not watched a game live for a while due to work commitments but if this is an improvement I shudder at want went before. Admittedly only one team are trying to score through open play but even so, a little urgency and creativity would be nice.

Maybe the penny has dropped for him, the lure of playing in a Dutch national CB pairing every week, who knows?

Virgils latest like on Twitter. Puff or P.Diddy discussing being a realist instead of a dreamer... https://mobile.twitter.com/diddy/status/899670713686151168

I would always support a player Ina saints shirt unless they were a convicted criminal. Personally I couldn't cheer on McCormack at Plymouth, or historically Collymore, Deeney, etc. Most folk deserve a second chance but no third chance.

True ITK folk can't win. Posters cry out for a Guan or some other update. Tom28 appears with fruitful insights and folks start moaning. Personally, I appreciate what he shares with supporters.

Convictcolony got the code above. It's "imwaiting". Many thanks CC.

Go. Promises much but delivers very little. Too slow, too delicate, too frustrating.

in club Wembley you are not allowed to wear colours as part of the no segregation agreement.

Transfer Deadline Day Jan 2017 Edition
Scoobysaint replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Can't believe this forum is so full of whining "fans". We have possibly broken our transfer record again and instead of celebrating, people moan about no CB. Yoshi and Stephens proved us all wrong against Liverpool in the cup and will hopefully do so again and again until VVD is fit again. Yes we lost last night, but we didn't win every game with Fonte and VVD playing. -
The bright lights of Barney!

Got a golfing friend down here who is a club Wembley member so has first dibs on up to 6 tickets for each event. I got in early before all his Utd pals start calling him for tickets!
-
Two Club Wembley tickets sorted but at £670!! No way I was getting one let alone two through the club. Devon is not really on the way to any club so not been too many games since I left Southampton.

Liverpool vs Saints - EFL Cup Semi Final 2nd Leg - Match Thread
Scoobysaint replied to Dalek2003's topic in The Saints
Time for Radic to come off possibly. No confidence after that miss. -
I think that we can do it even if VVD is out. They are not the same team without Mane. It's all static and predictable. Since he went to AFCON they have crumbled.
-
Simply not good enough. Admittedly they've not created much and scored a blinding second but we are so clueless. Everything back and sideways. Nobody trying to make attacking runs from midfield and not creativity up front. Normally I am quite positive but the last few games have been dire. Will Les hold his hands up?

Young Ryan Seager has just tweeted he is back in full training. He has certainly got the makings of a good player.
-
For some strange reason, I think today will be the day we shake things up a bit. Today could be the day we finish most of our chances. I think we'll do them good and proper!!
-
Same. Simply says no packages available. Frustrating.

Spent wisely, not like some.

I must admit to being slightly disillusioned to the start of the season and our dealings in the transfer market but will wait and see where we are when the window closes. We are in a tricky position that we have possibly over achieved the past couple of seasons and fans now expect us to kick on and spend a great deal to break into the top 5 or even 4. Unfortunately, the players who get us to these dizzy heights get given the opportunity of a big time move and we all we can do is get the best deal. What option do the club have? They can't hold them to their contract as they would have an unhappy player and no transfer fee. Until the players, as many have recently, buy in for the longer haul we are going to keep having the same summer misery. Admittedly, the lack of activity this summer has been disappointing but we don't need more squad depth, we need greater first team quality. There is no point spending £15 million on a player to appease the fans if he doesn't buy into the club and also if there is no potential value to be added. I think that the squad as it is will comfortably finish mid table.

What are the merits of the diamond formation? Is it to get the full backs at the byline crossing the ball? That doesn't work because they are not great at crossing but also, our centre forwards aren't in the box as they are covering the full back forward runs! I am thoroughly confused by it all, as it seems are the players. Get Hojberg on for JWP at half time.

I thought the official Twitter account said it would be streamed on the YouTube channel.
