Portsmouth away tickets - ballot reopened!

We'll be going from SMS, even with a Police escort clearing the way, there's going to be one big line of double deckers trundling along, by the time all have departed and got out of the city and queuing to join the M27, I reckon you're already looking at 20-25 minutes. Add 20 mins on the motorway and another 20 to get off at Farlington and onto the Eastern Road. Then once we're down the other end and parked up (how long is it going to take to park 50 buses?) and then queued to get into the sh*thole...well, it's not looking good is it? -

Yeah, I can see the Beeb agreeing to that live on national TV. "Hello 'future Superintendent' Burrows here, bit of a problem, 2 minutes to kick-off, 50 buses stuck on the damn Eastern Road. Any chance of delaying it for half hour?" "No f*ck off" replied Mr Beeb, "OK then. no worries, see you around half time..." Hope we get half the ticket money back if that's all we see. 12:15 for 1:00...not a f*cking chance. -

F*ck I hope the players aint going down there with the same limp-wristed attitude of some of our "can't be bothered" fans. Anyone remember 2005? Myself, I prefer to remember 1984 and the pleasure that brought being there. Grow a backbone some of you. -

Now, look long and hard at this picture... ...and put all thoughts of not wanting to be there out of your head. It could be a memorable day, one you'll look back on in 30 years and think "I was there". -
They do seem to have inconsistent standards in recent times along with the courts. While we get Saints fans arrested, even jailed, for some very dubious crimes, a Brighton fan walking after throwing at bottle (presumably at someone) on Saturday and the biggest head-scratcher of all, what went on down the road a few weeks back. A couple of lone Cardiff fans going back to their car were attacked (assault?) as they walked past a skate pub. Heavily outnumbered the landlord came out to help them and was also attacked leaving him with a broken nose (ABH/GBH?). The only thing that probably saved the Taffs (oops, am I allowed to call them Taffs?) was that a coach load of Cardiff fans just happened to go by while this was taking place. It stopped up the road and some piled off to come back and help them out. A brawl followed (affray?), all caught on CCTV until the OB turned up. Arrests were made, court appearances followed...and they all walked away. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/local/east-hampshire/eight_supporters_avoid_prison_after_portsmouth_brawl_1_3087438 What's the difference between the two ends of the M27 where football crimes are involved?
-
Wow, 2 Southampton fans arrested and face court for "homophobic abuse" (would be interesting to know what was said)...yet a Brighton fan is released with a caution for 'throwing a bottle'. The local OB certainly don't like Saints fans with plenty getting prison for far less than 'throwing a bottle' a little while ago.
-
I'd suggest the 'sold out' bit is just aimed at our allocation as they don't want ticketless Saints fans travelling. Nothing on the Brizzol OS suggests a sell-out for home fans. As for nearest divisional rivals, that goes to Cardiff, just 40 miles apart and a very spikey (English/Welsh) affair and usually 'bubble trips'. Reading would probably come next on their list along the M4.
-
Not a lot, "Poyet, Poyet, what's the score", "3-0 to the Dagenham" and a couple of others. Fortunately the homophobic chants were also kept to a minimum, although that 70 year old Doris down the front did get carted out by the OB (and took a few digs along the way) for shouting "Queerio, Queerio, Queerio" at their bloke when he was sent off. Shameful. But I'd just like to say...John Inman, Larry Grayson, Julian Clairey, Alan Carr, Dale Winton...your boys took a HELLLLLLL of a beating
-
Damn, and they so wanted us to give them a 'guard of honour' at Withdean. Missed opportunity.
-
What with that game coming up on Dec 18th, I reckon our OB could be a little arrest-hungry today. They may see it as an ideal opportunity to get a few more 'fence rattlers' out of the way...so be careful what you get up to.
-
That's a compliment, surely.
-
I do like this chant... "Oooooo Nigel Adkins, he’s the Gaffer, he’s fookin’ class, Poyet said we’re rubbish and it’s never gonna last, But he's a fookin' racist and he talks out of his ass, Oooooo Nigel Adkins..........."

£40...Plus VAT. That's £48 for little more than a comfy seat. Buy a regular ticket, save yourself £20 and you've still got access (albeit slowly) to a 'cash' bar.

Well...we've got the kit so.................

...you missed the little bit off the end that anyone could have seen was a tongue-in-cheek dig at the ungrateful cherries. We all know Totton is a Saints stronghold, there was always a good bunch of lads that used to go from the Saxon and Red Lion back in the 70s/80s...I'd put a few names up but they may be a bit more responsible these days and wouldn't appreciate it
-
Being pedantic, they're not "within the city limits", Totton is a town in its own right to the west of Southampton. It's grown over the years as a bit of a city overspill but Southampton finishes at Redbridge in the west. Good luck to them though, hope they appreciated all the extra Saints support yesterday and don't grow to "hate" us like Bournemouth after we helped them out so many times
-
Full house, 5-1 Totts, hatrick for Gosney, Yorkies now down to 9. Good on 'em.

My little theory on this is the club just aren't interested in fans travelling to away games as they make very little out of it. Maybe they feel if fans stop 'giving' their money to other clubs they may be more likely to spend it on Saints. Probably a cr*p theory but I think Cov was another example where they hardly encouraged a big away support. The only thing I saw on the OS about this fixture was that we'd been given 1,000 or so tickets, there was never any mention further batches were gonna be/were received when we could have had up to 6200. We still sold over 3000. West Ham immediately put 4000 on sale for their game at the Ricoh and said more would follow and momentum quickly grew for this game and they had soon sold all the 6200. I believe if we had done a similar thing we could have sold a lot more. They may make little from away games but a lot of kudos goes to a club that has big travelling support and I'm sure the players and manager prefer it.

Steve Middleton never played for the skates...did he?

He did but he kept the "Dirty Thick Skate C*nt" up half the night thinking of a reply. Someone's going to school all red-eyed this morning.
