Has he lived up to our expectations when he signed? No. Is he our worst signing in the last 50 years? Not by a long way. I mean come on...have you actually been watching Saints for the last 50 years. I can think of at least 50 signings worse than gaston! I actually don't think he did too badly last season at all and was at times very impressed with him. Comparing him to other players transfer fees is a bit pointless IMO, especially ones made whilst we were in League 1.
-
I completely agree. Jos has completely lost it IMO he wouldn't even get into a top Champ team... We need another CB desperately.
-
Was at the game, he looked decent and absolutely roasted Jos for their second. Could be good for us but not for the money they would probably want.
-
Very good going forward and mostly controlled the midfield. In all honestly it told us something we already knew - our back up defenders (Jos especially) are nowhere near good enough.

He has been awful against a Champ team. May have been quality 18 months ago but isn't even Champ quality now. -

We've fallen apart. Jos should never play for us again. He's a liability and not even Champ level. -

Does this game count in Ossie's suspension? -

Who has said RL's injury is bad? Didn't look much at the game... -
But, Coleman does nevertheless move his arm to block the cross. When Adam has the ball at his feet Coleman's arm is by his side, when he chips it in the arm is in the air blocking....if that's not a blatant penalty then I clearly don't understand handball anymore...(it appears most refs don't either given the wide variety in penalties awarded for the offence).
-
Puncheon, fraction of the grief? You have a very short memory my friend...
-
Worst we've played all season. What has happened to Us?
-
Sometimes I wonder whether people on here actually watch football matches. To suggest Holt is the same player as Lambert is an insult.
-
No way I'd want to sell him. A club legend and, as others have said, still vitally important to us. I'm amazed and slightly disappointed at the reaction on here.
-
He moved his arm towards the ball? It's more worrying that he saw it and still didn't give it. If referees can make such horrific calls having actually seen the incident clearly then we have a real problem on our hands.
-
Exactly, if they did that then I think that fans would be a lot more understanding, not necessarily less frustrated if they disagreed with the referee's call but they would still at least have some explanation.
-
I'm not even sure its the refs fearing anyone - they are just completely ill equipped to do their job properly - yet they bumble along making completely shocking decisions every single week without fear of any repercussions as the FA wouldn't dare drop Webb from Premier League games. As I've said before, if a player or manager performed as consistently badly as some of these referees they would be sacked.
-
Liverpool get conned by Webb - he is also one of the worst. Supposedly the top ref in the country but has been a laughing stock ever since that farce of a WC final in 2010. If he is the best we have then we are in a completely embarrassing state.
-
Puts his hand up to block the cross after the ball is kicked. Clear penalty.
-
The standard of refs gets worse and worse every season. It's a complete joke and an embarrassment to the game. Such a shame as there is a lot of good in the game, but even the best teams are let down by a very very poor set of officials. It needs to be sorted.
-
Clattenberg is an embarrassment to his profession. What is more embarrassing is that he gets to carry on making these appalling calls week after week after week. If a manager performed like him he'd be sacked and a player who performed as badly would be transferred. In fact, any individual who consistently made major mistakes like he does would no longer be employed. How does he manage to get away with it and how are the FA comfortable with these incompetent fools ruining our game?
-
Conned out of a point by the worst referee in the Premier League - I'm literally furious he didn't give that penalty. Played well and absolutely no way Everton deserved to win that.
-
Stonewall pen. Thanks Clatts you absolute dickhead.

Gaston booked for giving his shirt to a disabled fan. Stay classy Clatts.
