Exactly - at best he had potential. Him scoring against us at Carrow Road and then that screamer in the Toulon tournament for the U21s probably convinced Les. The best game he's ever had for us was against Liverpool at Anfield in the semi final - was a real threat when he actually ran at players. Unfortunately, he never really does that anymore and doesn't have the footballing brain or close control/passing to play a more cultured game (in the way that someone like AOC can even given his usefulness as a speed merchant).

The consequences of that would be disastrous. If we lose the next 2 we really are running out of points as our fixtures only get harder. Why not give a new manager a winnable game at home to Hudds to start?

We have improved but we have 2 points from 12 to show for it. Hardly inspiring is it. The latest fall out with Hoedt shows something isn’t working. Has to go now but Les won’t do it until we are really in the poo.

We played “well” against United at home as well. I’ve always maintained that it is easier to play well against the bigger teams as they give you more space. Ultimately though, their superior quality tells and you still don’t take points. We played well against United and then reverted to being trash. Same here. Watch us lose narrowly to Chelsea and the happy claps tell us that it’s still all ok. Unfortunately draws and narrow defeats against big teams won’t keep you up when you play utter trash against the teams you should beat. Palace, Everton and to an extent West Ham are improving whereas we are getting worse. MP will take us down.

Agreed. We need a change and fast. Look at Everton, criticised as the worst side to visit St Mary’s in many a year and have immediately improved under a vaguely competent manager. We’ve got an incompetent manager.
