  1. Would be incredibly disappointing if he went to Everton. Fortunately I can't see them being able to afford him or him wanting to go there.

Great news. Where's that reported or are you ITK? If he's only returned today I'd imagine he will start on the bench on Saturday.
  3. We've played some pretty amazing stuff this year when we've played well (Liverpool at home, United at wembley, Burnley at home to name a few). However, we've played some equally awful games (Palace away, Boro at home, WBA home). We do play with a good style when we play well but I've yet to see us dominate teams in the way that we managed to under Poch. Things are certainly looking positive though provided we get this summer's transfer window right.

I've never denied that, thanks for pointing it out again though. Think I've got the message now (finally).
  5. No Gabbi in the training pictures is a shame. Fingers crossed he's back for Chelsea. Austin must be pretty close too? Must have been out over 4 months now...

No, I've understood it well thanks. Please see my link where it is compared to the injury that he suffered earlier in the season (albeit acknowledged as hopefully not being quite as severe). Thanks for the unnecessarily patronising response though.

I'd normally not respond but given you are such a pedant I will. Where in my post did I use it as a stick to beat the club with? Maybe you should read the whole of my post and try not to infer things that aren't in it. As to where I got the information from - I was merely using the public information available: Gabbiadini: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/15167119.Saints_hopeful_on_Gabbiadini_injury/ also see Puel's comment after the game: https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-03-20/claude-puel-manolo-gabbiadini-injury-post-tottenham-southampton ("I think and hope it is not bad") Kane: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/03/14/harry-kane-suffers-ankle-ligament-damage-huge-blow-tottenham/ (as reported at the time and confirmed by Spurs to be ankle ligament damage) And no, I'm not a doctor but I do think that the Spurs medical team have done well to get Kane back on the pitch within a month following an injury they considered to be "similar" to one which kept him out much longer earlier in the season. To reiterate - this is not a comment or slur against our medical staff or their quality.

I'm not drawing any conclusion between the two incidents. Just remarking upon how Spurs are lucky to have a key man back from what is usually perceived as a more serious injury and that it is perhaps unlucky that our key man has missed 3 games with what Puel described as a minor groin strain. Don't make any comment as to the quality of our medical team at all.

Don't really see how its 'bizarre or irrelevant' - just saying that Spurs have done well to get a player back onto the pitch in 3 weeks when the press reports stated he had ankle ligament damage (which on the whole tends to keep players out for significantly longer).

Was I the only one that thought it bad luck on our part that Gabbi has missed three games with a minor groin strain yet Kane has missed the same number with ankle ligament damage? Spurs must be doing something right in the medical department!
  11. Claude deserves time for all the reasons above. It's the board and Mr Reed that should be under serious scrutiny this summer. Last summer's window was very poor and then we have the CB farce from January. A good summer of recruitment and not too many departures and we will have a top class side. Won't hold my breath on the recruitment part though!
  12. Didn't Potch play JWP wide right in a 4-2-3-1 as well I seem to remember? Puel isn't the first manager to play him there but don't dispute that's JWP is playing his best football this season.
  13. The one on Long looked stonewall at the time. Wasn't sure on the handball and still not as it was close but the replays do show hand to ball and the ball changed direction as a result. Should have had at least one if not both. WG will disagree on the handball but have definitely seen those given.
  14. Keith Stroud probably needs to attend said course as well. The standard of refereeing in our leagues is not good at all IMO but that's another debate.
  15. Not going to go back over the whole thread but I think the sensible view is that they would work. As shown by the recent France v Spain friendly where it was trialled (decisions changed for the better). Works in other sports too. Can't see how it can possibly be a bad thing.
  16. Why can't we have both then? Refs don't see this sometimes and video would quite clearly help. Can't agree that the ref has a better view than the TV replay though.
  17. Good win in the end and decent performance but didn't see it as quite as good as some on here. Palace hit the woodwork twice and I still thought it could have swung either way until we scored and then for the last 10 we relaxed. I still think we look a little ponderous in possession at times but maybe I'm expecting too much. Very impressed by Redmond who has completely won me over with his recent performances. Shout out to Jack Stephens too who, whilst he had a few dodgy moments, did better against Benteke than I expected. Pleased that the win finally dispels any lingering relegation doubt (didn't really ever think we'd get sucked in) as it was looking a bit tight after 44 mins with other results going against us!
  18. So uncomfortable in possession. My god we really have regressed.
  19. We've been let down so badly by the recruitment this year. I know we've had injuries but the team we've got out tonight is so poor.
  20. Man for man they've got a better team than us. No surprise we are struggling. Getting a bit too close at the bottom if it stays like this.

    Puel out

No we can't. Swansea have 28 points, we've got 34.
  22. If you were talking about Chelsea signing one of the three I'd agree with you but if you're telling me that (Yoshida aside) we've got a defence that's good enough to play for the Premier League champions then I'd argue we should probably have done a little better than we are doing.
  23. So the Premier League champions are going to purchase the defence of a team that might not even finish in the top half? Never ceases to amaze me how shortsighted the big clubs can be in their recruitment. Just like when Liverpool attempted to mount a title assault with the spine of a team that had just finished 8th. Either we are massively underachieving given our players or Chelsea are massively shortsighted.

    Puel out

For me the league cup run and then final performance has bought CP some time. Our performances with a proper striker are also very encouraging. However, we have been pretty awful at times this season and very inconsistent. I want CP to get a proper summer, build the team how he wants to and hopefully wait for players like Boufal to come good.
  25. The tackle in the first half where he caught up and dispossessed Afobe(?) was brilliant. As others have said, he's a classy operator with the ball on the deck but is pretty vulnerable in the air. I worry, for example, about his ability to cope with Benteke tomorrow night. He needs to bulk up a bit over the summer but with the right training we've got a very good player on our hands. Whilst Yoshi has been brilliant since VVD has been injured I think it would do Jack the world of good to play next to Virgil. Sadly, I don't think he'll get that chance. It's a difficult one come the summer as Yoshida has been excellent but clearly we do need better. I wonder whether we will only bring in one CB and will leave Jack/Maya to battle it out for the starting spot.
