Slowly backtracking from your statement that "only a few clubs don't rely on it" then?
-
So do you agree that if this is a standard business model amongst Premier League clubs then this is not something that we as Saints fans should be particularly concerned about? I wonder if villa or Everton forums have threads agonising over the instability of the financial model adopted by premier league clubs? I think not. You're scaremongering as usual.
-
So all clubs have a fragile business model then? If it's standard practice and all clubs do it then we are as much as risk as them. Your post makes it out as something of special concern for Saints.
-
Who said we relied on it? It certainly helps though.

Lots of statuses about Gazza on the Saints FB page, he must be playing which means this game will be harder than we think because if they have a shot on goal then we'll concede....a truly terrible keeper.
-
Haven't seen any mention of that anywhere - please elaborate.
-
Yaya is a *****. So petulant.
-
Oh I really hope not...
-
Gazza is shocking
-
He's as good as Forecast, i.e lets in every shot on target.
-
Gazza not good enough. He's possibly the worst keeper in Saints history. Just dreadful. But we knew that. How he is employed as a professional is literally beyond me. I'd be just as good (I.e I'd let in every shot that hit the target). How bad must Cropper be?....Jesus the mind boggles...
-
He's awful. Embarrassing that a top 10 premier league club has him as back up. Every shot on target will be in the net.
-
Gazza in goal therefore we have lost. Only chance we have is if they don't have a shot on target. One of the things I am most looking forward to about the close season is replacing the worst keeper in the league as our no.2. Serious question, would Morgan in goal actually be worse? I don't think so.

Because it's a multi-format game...don't let facts get in your way Pap.

Hi all, I'm moving out to Hong Kong tomorrow for 6 months with work. I would be keen to meet to watch games/talk Saints over a few beers.

Ridiculously patronising article. I On the same note for one hope that our club is never managed or run in the same way as theirs. Their fans are some of the most arrogant/genuinely spiteful in the Prem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This thread is a shining example of why Alpine still posts on here. He posts some absolute rubbish and then gets two pages of posts calling him a troll. If people didn't react he'd just stop posting. As for his original post it is, as others have said, quite frankly ridiculous. We aren't fighting for our lives, we are on course for our best ever finish and have a team that is playing some of the most exciting stuff I've ever seen when watching Saints. Add to that the number of youngsters we have coming through and I think you have to say that this season could prove one of our most significant. Oh and Alps, yes there are two sides to every argument, but don't be surprised that people disagree with you when things you say are inaccurate. Nobody could cogently argue that sitting with 39 points in the top half of the table is 'fighting to keep our head above water in the PL'. Nobody knows what will happen in the future, but your post is written in the present and we are not fighting for survival at the moment. I don't know what will happen next season but neither do you and I personally feel more positive than negative.

So we sacrificed the cup for that shambles? Thanks MP. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Exactly - clear penalty which happened 6 yards from him. Our 'best referee' doesn't give it yet we've got to put it down to 'human error', more like human incompetence. Standard of reffing this year has been as bad as I can remember.

It would have been madness to sell him. The guy is a club legend and deserves to finish his career here. I truly hope that he does. He was back to his brilliant best against Fulham and I'm so pleased for him. That's the thing about SRL, just as everyone starts to write him off he comes back with a bang. Pure class. Legend.

Hilarious that it has been suggested that player value does not impact on the value of the club. That is completely incorrect.
