  1. The only argument you could think of for taking him off was that we don't want him to get injured again. When Lavia got injured under Ralph the pattern of the team fell apart over the next few weeks. I wonder what would've happened if he hadn't been out injured for so long and whether Ralph would still be here. And, yes, he is that important to the way Saints play.
  2. And I know which one I'd rather keep at the club.
  3. There's no upside in responding to the fans. There's no upside in talking down your players in public. It's unprofessional. When you're as unlikeable as Jones then you really need to have results to back it up. He doesn't have results yet still feels the need to argue at every turn. It makes me so uncomfortable.
  4. And wrong as well. When Lavia's playing our midfield ticks. He doesn't give the ball away. Is able to receive in tight spaces and his passing is excellent.
  5. I'm not sure going https://www.isthatcherdeadyet.co.uk/ is the way to help someone who is clearly struggling with their mental health.
  6. I'm pretty sure that if he is still in post for the next game and we win that this is what will happen in the press conference. "Since I decided to do things my way I have a 100% win record in the premiership. That's better than any manager has ever achieved before." If he doesn't win then it just means it's time for another reset next week.
  7. It's great that he's willing to work with players but it seems like our players are getting worse rather than better. And, putting them in the first team seems the wrong way of going about it. In Armstrong's case - a loan might have been just what he needed to rebuild his confidence. Instead he's getting bits of games here and there, not getting into a rhythm and exactly where he was before. That's not preserving his value.
  8. Is it a witch hunt? At best, Jones is someone out of his depth in a job he wasn't ready for. But, nobody made him give the players a 2 week break during the World Cup when he could've been working with them. He squandered that opportunity. Nobody makes him boast about how great his record at Luton was. Nobody makes him use his press conferences to answer his critics. Nobody makes him play Bednarek, Lyanco, Diallo, Elyounoussi. He's made choices here which an increasing number of people question.
  9. Here's a chilling thought - what if we scrape a win? Would that change people's minds about keeping him in the job?
  10. The BBC MOTD interview leaned more towards him "pandering to the players" than other interference
  11. If you stick with Jones - you're also saying that it's ok for him to throw everyone around him under the bus whenever something doesn't go right. That's going to creating a lasting toxic culture that cripples the next manager through the door.
  12. Perfect for us. I don't see Ankersen being happy with it though because Bielsa isn't going to take any direction on team tactics and formations.
  13. At this juncture I would part company with Jones as the first priority. You cannot have that degree of incoherent blame flinging going around the club.
  14. I honestly can't see how they can stick with him. If you can't trust the guy running the team to speak in public then you have a problem. Not to mention, the interview(s) yesterday hinted at someone who is on the edge of a breakdown and the kindest thing would be to put him out of his misery before something bad happens.
  15. I think Bielsa would indicate that the board has conceded that we're going to be relegated. I don't see them doing that any time soon. Which also, sadly, probably protects Jones for a another couple of weeks.
  16. Might as well start preparing for next weekend's relegation 6 pointer. Lots of questions before this match: - Will Jones still be in charge? - Another week in the reserves for Caleta-Car and Orsic? - Diallo to start again? - Saints to set up to invite pressure? - The ongoing mental disintegration of Nathan Jones to continue in his pre match presentation. At this juncture it's hard to speculate beyond a Wolves win as we never beat them no matter how well we play they seem to nick a goal. Despite that I'm still hoping against hope.
  17. I think the reason SR hired him keeps coming up in the conferences. He had stats that looked good without spending much money - he keeps banging on about this. Unfortunately, his stats only looked good at one club, teams improved after he left them and the Premier League is not league one or the championship. Somehow they failed to do basic due diligence like evaluating his communication skills or leadership ability. Hint - someone who picks a fight with anyone who disagrees with them and contradicts themselves from one sentence to the next may not be who you're looking for.
  18. In Ankersen's head this is like the bit in Moneyball where the team starts doing what Brad Pitt asks and suddenly starts winning. Just have to have the doubters give up and stop questioning.
  19. They warned us about Mark Hughes too. I hate to say this but maybe we should listen to Stoke fans more often.
  20. I'm here for that. We can be done by lunchtime
  21. Page hundred might take us a few days. Can't we get it done by 70? On the plus side, if he stays we get to watch his feud with Ian Wright play out
  22. That's what you would say if you were trying to hide your pro Jones vote 😂🤣
  23. Welcome back. It's just as awful as yesterday and the club hasn't sacked him yet.
  24. "we didn't do the basics right" and calls his players weak. I'm not struggling to find examples.
