  1. Bizarre postings from St Lard again. The man who is still obsessed with Adkins even months after his departure. Who only comments when he is looking to criticise the man who took us to successive promotions. Must be really grating on him at how well Adkins actually did, seems to have simply made Lard hate him more. there must be more to it somewhere along the line, such an irrational hatred for a man who has made such a significantly positive contribution to your own clubs recent history is one of the most bizarre things I've seen on this forum in the last few years. Maybe Adkins made a pass on Lards mrs before his appointment. Who knows. But it is thoroughly weird
  2. Quite. I don't know about you, but most days at work i often pop out of the office at 3:40 pm in order to grab a drink and a pie.
  3. Indeed, my thoughts exactly. Even though he had a touch 8 overs on day 1, to now bowl him at all on day 2 and to even prefer Trott over him, smacks of a huge vote of no confidence. Poor captaincy by Cook in my eyes, he could have given Kerrigan a few overs at the tail when they were thrashing it about as he may have got a cheap wicket or 2 and given him that little boost of confidence. Runs were almost irrelevant by that time anyway as Aussies were going to declare regardless, be it 450 or 500. As it stands, if the game gets tight when Aussies are batting next what confidence is the lad going to have bowling now? As much as Cook is a quality player in his own right, i am not a fan of his captaincy at all and i would go as far as to say we are winning this series despite Cook's captaincy, not because of it.
  4. Root would have been a decent no 6 for the next 6-12 months, the selectors however tried to be too clever and complacent by trying to fast track him into the openers slot, pick a not ready Bairstow and drop the steady Compton who would have beensde for this series at his age and level of determination
  5. Oh you utter utter bellend
  6. I won't like him until he predicts us to win a game, even if we end up losing it
  7. Agreed, a very amusing piece.
  8. Overall a decent day. Another 100 runs and we should be fine. Still fail to see what Bairstow offers from number 6 though. Would have kept Compton as opener with Root at 6 where he can play with a bit more freedom, as he was before this series. Compton was seen as being too slow to score his runs, but Root has scored just as slowly from his opening slot, and it's clearly stifling his natural game. Selectors will stick with this however, I'm certain
  9. Shocking effort again this. No surprise our last wicket didn't add any more runs this morning either
  10. Mark Kelly on Solent seriously must be the worst co commentator ever! For the last 2 years he's started every sentence of his "analysis" with the words "yeah absolutely"....and I literally mean EVERY single time he speaks he has to say that. It is almost as of he's doing it for a bet now, surely someone would say something to him about this problem he's got.
  11. COYR! Any thoughts? We will see! Any thoughts?
  12. No, it wasn't. Lambert scored both goals in that game.
  13. I love threads about Jonno Quick, nobody can resist the dip into the memory banks to bring up the MK Dons game, I expect when he dies there'll be a mention of it on his tombstone.
  14. In all seriousness, De Ridder must be probably the worst winger we've ever signed. Neil McCann was pretty poor but played at a higher standard so can't really compare him. I honestly can't remember us signing a winger who's made as little impact or started less games, bearing in mind he was signed with a view to actually play a key part in the first team, rather than just some youngster for the future, or someone to accompany a bigger foreign signing. A truely woeful player
  15. Lol at Turkish deliberately trying to mimic Alpine Saint. Just read his posts on this thread, it's absolutely obvious that's what he's doing just for the lolz
  16. In all seriousness, surely Alpine is joking and just winding us all up. I expect he's sat there laughing to himself at how easy everyone is to wind up. No one could actually seriously post that and expect to gain any kind of credibility could they?
  17. Wow. This post just takes the biscuit, the whole cake in fact. One of the most moronic posts i've ever read. Let me guess, we're also going to struggle this year.
  18. Bizarre post
  19. Horrible little man
  20. Bizarre.........
  21. Alpine has a point, yes it was a great test match, great excitement and in the end a great result.....but recently it's very worrying how difficult England find it to finish off the last wicket. It's happened loads over the last year or so. Even NZ put about 70 on for the final wicket earlier this summer against us....and that Trent Boult and Neil Wagner who are complete bunnies. Lest we forget Tino Best last year as well. More than just coincidence by now
  22. Indeed, especially after how watchful and sensible he'd been up until then. Shame, but once he starts opening up he usually can't reign himself in. Have to accept it at times i guess. Didn't need Cook to go straight after. At the end of the day, (and i thought it at the time) in a reasonably low scoring game if you let the opposition put on 160 odd for the final wicket, there's the match right there. Clearly going to be the difference unless those well known stallwarts Bell and Bairstow can actually dig in and rescue something from this. My money is that they won't.
  23. Absolutely dreadful yet again
  24. Red one is the home that black one is not the away i have seen both.
