I'd agree wholeheartedly with that. If his form and fitness are up to scratch Murty would fit perfectly. Living in Reading I'd hear his radio interviews most weeks and he always struck me as a likeable, articulate, intelligent man with a healthy sense of reality. Just the man to lead our younger players by example. Decent fullback too. Hi wife will be a good figurehead too, sensible woman and very active in the community and a good potential ambassador. Funnily enough before I ready this thread I had thought that if we can make a success of Murts as a player over the next year or two he might be a good candidate for a step into coaching as he winds his playing career down

My immediate thoughts are..........who gives a thruppeny wobbler. We could only have been in the same position as now come the endgame OR worse off. Could we really have had a more promising owner than Markus? SP did bugger all wehn they were tryign to hawk the club so why should we care if someone lese managed it and their man blew a few quid when he thought he might be able to get his snout back in there?

Germans don't drop haiches so it would be Leeb-hair with the H softened according to dialect. Liebherr would probably best translate to Dear Gentleman (Herren on the bogs is gents', not men's, Damen und Herren ladies & gentlemen

Well, maybe a few.

I've always felt a glass of beer or two is all the pre-match entertainment I will ever need.

Markus is really German. German beer = yummy. Mach schnell Markus, bitte. And one of those swinging lampshady things over a barbeque doing Bratwursts wouldn't go amis That said a decent array of real ale would be a welcome complement
-
Fingers crossed we can now hope for better than that

**** her sister, they rarely still want to marry you if you do that

How about cow bells at games like Swiss ski fans?

I suspect Nicola (who is a banker according to OS) will have been a broker in the deal, merchant banker in our terms and hand over to whoever Markus wants to run the show
-
From his SSN interview the man in charge will be Nicola Cortese (but Oldknow seemed confused as to his name - which might just be TV nerves) with Markus ina hands off role. That said the OS has Nicola as being a bank director not part of Mali or a Markus aide. Generally speaking I thought Oldknow seemed to say the right things in his interview, not necessarily his own words of course, he'll have been trotting out the official line. I would imagine all positions are transitional at this point, with Markus and his people likely to spen a while putting together a permanent organisation. Oldknow confirmed what's been said elsewhere that Markus will be a pretty hands-off owner letting his people run the club for him.

He's titled as COO on SSN interview

VOOT - see how I can do the Switzerdeutch accent allofasuddnen (im Augenblick if you prefer)
-
A small WOOT for now, OK a big one. But I am waiting until the official confirmation before getting rascally drunk in celebration.

Are you reading on ahead to see how it turns out?
-
Indeed, and within a few minutes we'll be up to 5000 posts

Anyone got any update on the lady with the nice legs? We haven't heard about her for a day or two

That and boredom in the office

Just realised there have been nearly a quarter of a million views of this thread. Ludicrous.

Friday, 2pm press conference. These guys really know what they are doing, even understand the takeover conventions. And I'm just predicting the above. I don't know.

Sorry matey, the must be English line has been trotted out so often I tend to snap. Your point I would argue creates an issue as the poster pointed out above - if someone's any good at this level they'll move upwards, either withtheir team or to another. Same as players really. If a manager has moved up why would he want to drop a level, unless he's become available (sacked) suggesting failure. I think the science is less exact thatn we like to think
-
Not quite sure of your point here. My company does none of the things you list. What I was saying was that engineering companies overseas and their owners aren't necessarily high profile outside their own sphere, one I'd be shocked if a provincial sports journo was especially well up on. From Fry's perspective he doesn't give a thruppenny wobbler whether the new owners are good for Saints, the fans or whatever, he's employed to get a good deal for the creditors - so if Pinnacle, Jacko pr whover offer a better price for the creditors any billionaires offering elss can go whistle from his PoV. Doesn't help us as fans but that's Fry's duty.

Come on Chops, don't let the facts get in the way of our bigoted views - otherwise how on earth would the Mail survive as a paper?
