  1. a sensible and balanced response, good on ya mate and well done to all at Reading - hope we join you at the top table next season )
  2. not something I'm going to lose much sleep over......he's always struck me as a pretty down-to-earth bloke and am not going to change my opinion based on him blowing some smoke up his own team's a*se and making them feel good......NA does it for us in every interview, positively reinforcing how good our players are and what a great club we are and how we're moving in right direction.....I'd call it good management tbh....
  3. am surprised he was moved up front when Rickie came off....surely Barnard off the bench would've been a more logical swap??
  4. is this really worth a post??? manager of losing team complains about decisions, not really a headline grabber is it??
  5. bang on, sack-faced conniving tosser.....massively over-rated, over-hyped and devious.....his track record, under scrutiny, actually makes for pretty dismal reading.....part of me wants him to get the job and be exposed for the con-artist he is, but at the same time, I don't want the national side to suffer
  6. probably, Hammond is one CM I wouldn't be overly upset to lose.....fear he'll be exposed if we get promoted, whereas Morgan's class will shine in the Premiership where it's not all about physicality but playing your way through teams.....am really chuffed he's now playing with greater consistency which was his achilles heel in the past.....
  7. 37, live in Lancashire, originally from Bitterne of Norwegian/Danish descent, first game was centenary match vs Everton when my mate was official mascot and took me with him, lost 2-3, but I remember Glenn Cockerill scoring within 70 seconds and being blown away by the noise....school was near the Dell so used to get tickets for most midweek games, not in Soton very often unfortunately but last game was the 2-0 win v Burnley this season.......
  8. lol....amusingly harsh but fair!! COYR!!!
  9. today's just getting better and better!!
  10. I'll second that....it's great to be a Saint!!!
  11. actually had us down as a draw here......don't think we can really ask for too much more....would've been nice to hang on for a win as a reply probably isn't what we need at this point, but sounds like there are a lot of positives there
  12. think it's a bit harsh to judge the lad on 60 minutes appearance, showed a few nice touches......have we slipped Redcrapp a bung for him??
  13. totally pointless f@cking thread....he's our reserve keeper who's had a bad day at the office, we haven't lost, still top by three points, get over it
  14. I agree totally with this....the number of times I was waiting for someone to pull the trigger.....are we trying to pass the ball into the net???
  15. Originally Posted by aintforever Morgan returns to the side our form drops, it's no coincidence IMO. agree with Roger.....took me half an hour to realise Hammond was even on the pitch.....Schneiderlin is a class act and one of our most gifted players.....
  16. good to get the rub of the green once in a while
  17. anyone know when the draw takes place??
  18. true, but the thread title refers to whether we're sending out a marker, not to whether we're going to win the league....after 4 games, we're unbeaten, playing attractive football, are top of the table, and are winning plaudits for our style of play and attitude towards the game from neutrals and opponents alike.... by these tenets, we are indeed laying down a marker.....I'm not presuming for one second that we are going to win this league, but so far, so good, and a lot of things in this club seem to be going right.....after all we've endured in the last 5 years, where is the harm in enjoying the moment??
  19. and, as an ex-pro rugby player who played under Sir Clive, enjoyed playing for him and respected him hugely, I still didn't feel you could transplant what he'd achieved in rugby into football.....the two are very different beasts and the inherent structures are incompatible
  20. monumentally overblown self-improtant f*cking t*at........Rupert Lowe, with his extensive Football knowledge from his days playing hockey at Radley College, obviously the Messiah we were after.....it actually hurts me to think my club sunk to this depth.....we have an awful lot to be grateful for......Thank you Markus....
  21. humour probably a bit beyond anyone who doesn't speak Norwegian!!
  22. and lest we forget, Robbie Keane, international and proven Premiership goalscorer, is waiting to see if his move to LA Galaxy goes ahead for a 'mere' £3.5 million.....why aren't we throwing our hat in the ring there instead????
  23. I feel he's the right kind of manager for us, and given the ups and downs we've had over the last 5 years, it's good to have our club back as one we can be proud of that goes about things the right way.....for years, we were a lot of people's 'second' team, or at least one which other fans admired for the right reasons, stability, family atmosphere, passionate but respectful.....it was a huge backwards step when we lost our way and our sense of direction in the Lowe years.....yes, it's far too early to be talking about promotion but results speak for themselves, there's a great feeling around the club and we're all on here generally being positive about our club so I think it's as good as it can be at the moment....
  24. and Cortese has actually restored some much needed integrity and self-respect back to our club, which was utterly beyond RL
  25. yep, and then refusing to reinvest it back into the club for new players!!
