Tonda Eckert asked about Daniel Peretz: “When it comes to certain positions, I don't know if I'm the right one to ask. I have an idea and a pair of eyes, but I trust the recruitment department.” The same goalkeeping department that scouted Bazunu, Lumley, Long and a new expensive contract for McCarthy. What could go wrong

Yeah, we’re fucked. The honeymoon period is over and there’s absolutely nothing there, is there. Dunno where we go from here really. Genuinely hoped this season would be better than last season as it’s an easier league etc… but fuck me this club and its shitty tactics have sucked all the fun out of it completely.
-
Someone had a pop at me on here the other day for using the term “as bad as it gets”. What is the correct term for this pointless, turgid dross?
-
This is simply absurd. Sticking with this dreadful formation at all costs. Absurd.

Why does our club hate us
-
Fucking rubbish half. Wish I’d never bothered. It’s fucking freezing as well.
-
I don’t feel sorry for him. He’s been paid a wedge to completely underperform for years. I feel more sorry for us fans who pay a lot of money to watch that clown let in goal after goal week after week.
-
Yes how dare we be annoyed that a premier league team is bottom half of the championship. Why don’t you try complaining about the ridiculously shit performances instead of the fanbase?
-
Dunno why people are pretending it’s hard to field a back 4: McCarthy Jelert THB Stephens Wellington Jander Downes Bragg Fellows Arma Scienza This would be a lot better than anything we’ve put out all season. I guarantee it. (Charles back in for Bragg when he’s fit.)

Tbf, if there’s one thing in this world that you can never trust, it’s an Everton fan on Twitter. Absolute lunatics that lot

Pray for a miraculous January window

Stephens won games at PL level. THB played for England and been promoted twice. Even Edwards was winning games in a back 4 for QPR. There are some absolute dross centre backs in this league playing in back fours that are performing better than ours. I just don’t buy this narrative at all. It’s all about setting the midfield up correctly in front of them. I’d much rather see a 4-3-3 than the turgid mess we are watching personally.
-
Don’t buy this at all. Look at our squad and compare it with anyone else in this league that is playing better than us with 4 at the back. It’s all down to coaching and set up.
-
Absolute tosh. We were second best against a depleted Birmingham and Oxford. Fans have every right to expect better than these performances.

Yeah credit tonight, his changes made a difference for once. But that’s probably because he left our best player on the bench for no reason
-
It’s rubbish Tonda
-
I could be wrong, but didn’t Brentford play the formation when they got promoted? I’ve always thought this is where it comes from. Rasmus’ trying to recreate his time at Brentford

The corporate player trading entity formerly known as Southampton FC marches on
-
Yes. Dreadful, turgid stuff against a very poor team. Cant believe how boring and bad we are.
-
You’re trying to move the goalposts. Your original post said people are overreacting. No they aren’t. Tonight was as bad as it gets.
-
No it’s not. Birmingham (just up from L1) had a host of players out, yet were by far the better side until the 80th minute. Compounded by the Oxford game and it’s nowhere near good enough.
-
Fucking shit
-
Rattled if we wake up and play to even 1/10th of our players ability we can win this now
-
GET IN

It’s enforced from the top down. Some spreadsheet or metric dictates it. Only thing that makes sense, because anyone with a brain can see it’s fucking abysmal
