Sadly, I disagree with the posters who feel we will realise Stones-esque money for VVD. Les has hardly shown he is capable of a good haggle as we seem to bed over to Liverpool et al very easily. I would love to see us play hard ball a little bit more. I appreciate moving the want-a-way players early but feel we're helping our rivals a bit too much allowing them to build their squads before they go on their pre-season tours etc. I'm not having a go at the model, it is what it is and we are who we are. However, being a bit more of a c*nt about it would certainly leave less of a bitter taste. Maybe I just want to be nasty to Liverpool a bit more ;-)

Hesketh looking very good. Lovely weight on the through passes he had played.

Hojlberg is the BOSS. Notable mention for Oriel who was everywhere. I like to see that from a striker. Great composure to slot that pen in after the mini dispute. The night topped off by that great third goal with the wonderful finish from Jay. We might just do better in Europe than the league this season. If actually take that.

I'm losing interest in the Premier League and the billions spent as others have mentioned. I've had a career change which means I have less time on my hands. I've also been priced out of it in terms of going to games live. As much as I feel distant from it all compared to when I was younger nothing, NOTHING feels as good as a Saints win!! I think I will always go bat sh*t crazy when we score. It's ingrained, I can't control it anymore than I can control my drinking on a night out. At 42 years old I ought to know better I suppose.

Damn. Playing very well I thought. Hopefully we create some more chances and can take one.

I'm beginning to think it is me who has the mental health problems as I still routinely visit this site. It's habit after all these years as I was an early adopter of Saintslist back on Yahoo groups. I must say tho, the "personalities" have really detracted from the quality of the forum in the last few years. Shame really.

Holjberg looked very composed although not as quick as I first thought. Romeu was caught a few times by Capoue in particular. We'll need much more cover than JWP offers away from home. Redmond came into the game very well second half. Pied looked decent and got into the game well. Tadic also got into the game more and more. Disappointed with the final third in general but that has been the story of pre-season too. The team showed character to get back into that match. Holjberg igniting the crowd towards the end of the game was great to see from someone who has only just joined. He looks a leader already. Something to build on for sure. I'm not as disheartened as I was when Watford took the lead. We looked all at see for 15 minutes there.

PEH looks huge doesn't he. Already calm and assured.

Lovely bit of football.

I thought JWP has been a little lightweight in the tackle.

I see United wanting him to nurture their younger players in the central defence positions. He would only be used this and possibly next season when the hope that those younger players would of adapted by then. It will be a short-term situation for Fonte, but time is against him now anyway. The bosh will be the deciding factor as always. United might make him an offer, on the above terms, he cannot refuse. Or that his agent refuses to let Fonte turn down more likely. However, I think this is Mendez squeezing as much out of Saints as possible and Fonte will be trotted out in due course to tell YouTube that he was always staying, glad it's finally sorted etc.

Sportsmania.eu for me still. It has undergone some changes in recent months. For example there is now a mania unlimited which has loads of regular channels included such as Sky Atlantic etc etc. I've always stuck to sportsmania.eu. I was a bit miffed when they took their support 100% Facebook recently but I bit the bullet and made an account (I don't do Facebook) and have to say, the support is better than anything you'll ever pay for legitimately (Sky, virgin etc). I recently asked them to sort out the WWE Network channel as it was out of sync audio wise and they restarted the stream and boom audio fixed. This was at 11:30pm on a Sunday night just before a PPV event. Awesome. The one caveat I will say is that during the season I do sometimes have issues but bugger me, it's illegal (don't forget) and it's only £26 for six months so can't really complain. My only concern is that my subscriptions are in some way funding terrorism or drug trafficking, but I try not to think about that too much :-)

All this ITK stuff is hillarious. Almost as funny as those who actually believe in it. I do love how every forum has some ITK's now. Back in the old days of Saintslist (circa 1999) and the early days of the forum era I could believe in some stuff but now everyone has a connection. I'm a bit of a cynic I'm afraid when it comes to the ITK's.

Banner?

it has to be easier to get excited about a young nubile lady friend than old Vera tho. They do have that advantage, the lucky sods.

Am I to gather that Everton are still waiting to pounce on their targets? Or is it there a 'chain reaction' with Stones future holding things up? Not been following transfers that closely but am intrigued to see if they actually sink some serious funds into this window as alluded to.

This surely means he will be coming to us. Pretty sure It's actuallyLiverpool that spot the talent and then give us the nod.* *Or maybe I'm being far too cynical about the whole setup.

Only just got round to watching the game against D.C. United's U23's. I loved his first-time, 40 yard pass out to the right wing with his right foot, seemed to ping it on the half volley too.

Despicable act of terrorism. I was sickened and saddened as I went to bed last night at the news unfolding. The French government need to get a grip on this. They are guilty of an indefensible slow reaction to the problems they have. They have been warned repeatedly, both internally and externally, about the threats but their efforts to counteract radicalisation has been woeful IMO. How can this possibly happen in a country where they are on the highest state of alert?

Not up to me dude. I was just procrastinating whilst trying to get some work done Someone posted the Fonte image (which fits perfectly) and I fired up Photoshop. It'll need the site owners will to create the .PNG properly and upload to the site server. I'm available to do it if site owners are too busy - just supply me the original .PSD with layers and chose images and I'll sort it. EDIT: However, its really basic stuff and anyone could do it in all honesty.

A quick mock up - have better things to be doing but am easily distracted I remember doing this for Ron years ago and posting it here and it got ignored. I realise the site owners have this covered but Ron should be on there if Keegan is. Is Ron in the correct place? I wonder what Kelvin would make of Fonte getting on the banner?

Cedric's claimed lack of physicality for English football is offset by his bravery. He took another kick to the head the other night. The lad is a tough cookie. I hope he cements his place and has a stormin season.

Hell of a reception back at St Mary's if they win on Sunday. Will start as massive underdogs I'd of thought regardless of the opposition.
