Hmmm could this be what I'm thinking about I wonder.... Benali was sent off earlier in the season in a goalless draw at Bolton for a similar incident, raising his arms at an opponent. http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Saint+Benali+faces+fine+if+proved+to+be+a+sinner%3B+Southampton+0+Derby...-a060776576

*I think I remember him getting sent off up at Bolton. He basically cut someone in half near the dug outs, picked himself up and promptly strolled down the tunnel before the ref could show the red card... classic Benali ! *this may or may not of happened as I've slept a few times since, but never let the truth get in the way of a good story!

I'm going to this one with a Villa mate sat in with them. Still at £10 a ticket I couldn't turn it down. He's got all home games for that price with priority booking via O2 I believe. Can't knock that. He's not confident at all. He thinks Lambert will have a field day against Villa's defence. Nothing we don't already know but this is exactly the kind of game we should win.

Genuine question: can you post the article where this "chat" is confirmed. I missed it and I keep reading about it on here.

I too found that comparison tool interesting. The Morgan Vs Gerrard one makes interesting stats... posted here so others don't have to (or maybe can't) visit the site: Although playing slightly different midfield positions its interesting to see how MS compares to a player he regards as one of the best in the world. I think I read somewhere that Gerrard has been playing a bit deeper this season which may be because his legs aren't what they were. He seems to still be getting plenty of crosses in so must still be bombing on. As for the game, I've read a few LFC forums this morning and they see this as a MUST WIN game. A few giving us some praise and saying it won't be easy. Some even predicting a draw! TBH I feel about the same, its a game we ought to lose comfortably but Saints have shown enough belief to have little regard for this and could surprise them. However, I'd be over the moon with a point up there.

Yoshida only 24... Plenty of room for him to get better then!

Harry Redknapp to be named manager within 3 weeks

I won't set foot in St Mary's or give the club any of my hard earned IF he comes back. Its as simple as that NC! -
*Shudder* the thought of Spurs outsinging us with our own song is deeply depressing.

TOP POST. Mods close thread. Hallelujah.

This is all totally irrelevant. As any long-time fan of the Saints will tell you... we don't start playing until after Christmas!! :-) (last couple of years were a blip :-) ) In all seriousness though, I'm tired of chopping and changing. It's boring and smacks of a really badly run setup. Lets try continuity and see if that works for us. I'm talking long-term strategy. Things aren't right at the minute, lets give NA the opportunity to try and put things right eh? Besides, am I the only one who really enjoyed the lower leagues???? This Premier league business is really turned me off again already :-( (worst case scenario hat on)

How about some positivity??? James Ward-Prowse looks a proper, proper player, fearless is how I would describe that performance. Morgan was fantastic and I loved his intelligent little sprints out to steal the ball away from Utd's pedestrian midfield ably supported by an excellent display from Steven Davis. Punch, as others have mentioned, was fantastic with powerful intelligent dribbles causing Utd no end of problems. Lallana belongs at this level and Lambert made a returning-from-injury Vidic look cumbersome at times. All massive positives for me. Erm.. we all know the back line is a bit dodgy but I'm hopeful Yoshida will solidify things there with his composure and obvious leadership. All in all and great game of football and Scholes at 56(sic) years old is still the master... we never got near him as we tired in the final 15 minutes. RVP = deadly Nigel AND the team will learn from this. Keep the faith.

I want Lpool to hurry up and sign Dempsey... the delay in that deal is causing me concern.

Hardly bloody at the forefront of it all since he's just tweeted what we've effectively known for days, days I tells ye!!

I thought the Bologna chairman put some sort of Thursday evening deadline on this??? I see they are signing players so must have the euros no? I've been calm but even I'm starting to hit F5

I get paid work from twitter.... therefore I find it extremely useful. My current role was found via a tweet. In my industry its pretty much THE place to find links and leads to jobs. I work in computer graphics/animation. The fact that I can also follow my team, bands and artists I like etc is a bonus for me. There is some self gratification that goes on which is quite annoying.. those types just get unfollowed PDQ.

The 'getting a bit desparate' Centre Back thread.
jasonb replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
I once gave Huth a ride in a Noble M400 up and down the Knowsley express way in Liverpool. Chelsea were staying in the hotel near the airport prior to a CL game against Lpool. The company I used to work for were having a press day where we hired loads of super cars to ferry press to and from the airport/hotel. I didn't know who the hell he was until my boss pointed it out to me. Drogba was next in although they all got told off by Chelsea mangment for hanging around with a load of video game types. He showed himself up by telling me his 911 turbo was faster than the Noble... oh how I chuckled Prem footballer in knowing nothing about the cars they buy shocker!! :-) Would be a good signing though.. been solid and consistent for a number of years now. -

Driving from the UK to Italy in August....Travel Tips Sought
jasonb replied to trousers's topic in The Lounge
Got back from our road trip to Italy over the weekend. Had a fantastic time and just thought I'd pop back on here to say thanks again for the help and advice received whilst I planned for the trip. In the end we went via Germany/Austria which was superb in terms of cost and time although we did get held up a few times in Germany due to roadworks which I think were mentioned here as a potential issue. The German leg of the journey was the most boring in terms of scenery so might not do it that way next time. Austria however was stunning. Although we played it safe and went into the Dolomites via the Fernpass it was great. The campsite in Stubai was brilliant too and the little town there was a real highlight. On our return back to the UK we risked it a bit more by choosing our own campsites from the satnav list depending how far we had driven that day. I ended up doing Venice to Stuttgart on day 1 and then Stuttgart to Brugge on day 2. All in all a great trip and only one incidence of driving onto the wrong side of the road in nigh on 3000 miles of driving (including Manchester to Folkstone and back). Thanks again all :-) -
Why change a classic! Although a marketing faux pas even back then.

Hated all those Sanderson kits from the mid-to-late 90s. Looking at some of our kits from late 80s onwards the new kit is definitely growing on me. Good site.

Oasis fans you mean?? Yeah saw plenty of them but also (usually) normal people off on one! Generally a really good vibe from the people I spoke to.
