  1. A friend of my Mum's used to say that she trusted someone "explicitly"
  2. This thread title is fantastic. "Boo, shame, down with this sort of thing"
  3. Robsk and jeff leopard just owned this thread. Good work, chaps.
  4. I think that peasant morons who can't figure out why human rights and civil liberties are important should be detained indefinitely.
  5. Time to grab your stack of guns and ammo, get in your pick-up truck and head to the Montana hills to join up with the other freedom fighters, before Nobama invites the commie UN to requisition your house for the storage of pig iron
  6. I recommend "Filth" after you finish Trainspotting, I read it a couple of weeks back; won't say it's quite as good but it's an excellent read.
  7. I hope our attendances improve and all, but I've noticed a different vibe around the place in the last couple of games, e.g. applause and encouragement when a move didn't come off last night instead of the now much more familiar sound of people screaming, "You're f*cking sh*t you c*nts, I hate you all," or other words to that effect. Thoroughly enjoyed the game as a result of this and some football of genuine class.
  8. Yeah, birds are weird like that. I've met girls who'll go on about all kinds of filthy sh*t they've got up to with men/other girls, but will fanatically deny that they enjoy a good diddle now and then. Confused priorities, perhaps.
  9. I don't know, it may be recent but I reckon it'll have some staying power as one of my most hated.
  10. Currently the new one-way system by Aldgate East tube station. Through a series of poor decisions I can't be arsed to detail, I'm prob getting fined for going in a bus lane which I thought was OK for cars after 7. Perfect way to get welcomed back to the homeland after an enjoyable little break in Cologne. But then life is mostly a grim business. Just got to suck it up FFS.
  11. The main part of my job is doing summaries of newspaper reports mentioning them and the subprime mortgage crisis (being doing it for two years, months before the financial crisis kicked off, so they obviously knew very well what was going on). Needless to say the last week has been hell, but now they're bust I'm not sure what I'll do all night!
  12. He's a tw*t, but he's one of those oddly likeable tw*ts, you know? Stop hatin'.

  16. God that song's a pile of sh*t!
  17. Maiders to my work near the Old Street roundabout, which takes about an hour and a bit. Can be awful or the best part of the work day, depending on how knackered I am, how many dickhead City boys in Porsche Carreras I have to give the Vs to and how crowded the roads are (fortunately I generally manage to avoid rush hour). Wish I could walk to work...that's the dream. Would like to take the train but just takes too damn long and is just as expensive
  18. Piers "Morgan" Moron
  19. I've never understood the Murray hate, but I just can't take anyone who routinely wears black trainers seriously. Never seen a pair of black trainers that didn't look absolutely bloody awful.
  20. A ticket for the home standing area at Duisburg v. Aachen in the 2.Bundesliga in a couple of weeks has cost me €11. Going to buy a Borussia Moenchengladbach ticket as well I think, and that should be around the same price. As for England - well, it's the same old thing. People love their football clubs, not just because they want to go and see people they don't know kick a ball around but because it connects them to their community in a way you don't find anywhere else in modern life. And the clubs, who long ago forgot that they were both less and more than bland businesses, couldn't give a f*ck Damnit.
  21. Tbh three posts a day probably does it for me at the moment. Thanks to people at work taking the **** with their usage of the internets (going on it for bloody hours on end, except for a few minutes every hour or whatnot) everyone's been pretty much banned from using it. When I'm not working I now have tons of grown-up homeownery stuff to do now, so I'm on the interweb a lot less. May pay the £5 when I'm less busy because I've always enjoyed messing about writing ******** on here, but not at the moment. Place does seem a bit slower, but not by a huge amount IMO.
  22. Yep. I've stopped believing that the bubble will ever burst, though
  23. Born on the Fourth of July is a very good film.

  25. Friday: Out for ex-girlfriend's birthday. Saw loads of people who I haven't seen for a while, pulled one of ex's mates, think the ex herself wanted to know as well and her new boyfriend's an ugly mofo, so long-term I plan to go to town on both they asses but had to go home to get up for Cardiff on Saturday. Saturday: Not a bad day out despite the mandatory last-minute disappointment and getting lost and soaked wandering around lost afterwards. Saw bungle and Wilko in a pub beforehand (forget the name) and enjoyed the celebration of the equaliser. Sunday: Slept until early afternoon. Phoned up a couple of people to go and have a drink, but couldn't get hold of anyone so just did f*ck all. Best one for a while, 7/10
