The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
Farmer Saint replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
To be fair unless we see anything radical, which is what I wanted under Labour, it is rather predictable. This country has gone to the dogs because we allowed racist mouth-breathers who don't and have never properly contributed to the productivity or prosperity of the country to decide the most important political moment in the country's history. We'll never recover properly and unless we do something very differently (and take note Reform, I don't mean your daft 1970's policies) we'll be in the same position in 4 more years, taxing the middle earners to the hilt and letting the rich get away with murder. -

People hated Boris because of his corruption. He was always goes to flip-flop, or wiff-waff on policies because that's part of who he is (and he did also have to deal with COVID). People hate Trump because he's a bi-polar moron, who doesn't understand the first thing about geo-politics, economics, business and constitutional rights. What he does know is manipulation, lying, cheating and how to do illegal things in plain sight. He needs to be careful as when the dildo of consequence arrives, it rarely arrives lubed. -

I know a couple of farmers who supported Brexit, and then have stopped farming due to not having the labour available post Brexit, including one that after Brexit decided to turn half his land into a fucking vineyard, using labour models from pre-2016. We told him not to, but to be honest he is a ruddy old racist and deserved what he got. You reap what you sow. -

It's been a poor 12 months for Labour, but to even contemplate that it is worse than the Tories is fucking laughable. They had so many u-turns, and the only times they got stuff through they broke the economy. -
Seen them numerous times, pre-Flint death. Excellent, but got blown out the park by Pendulum at IOW festival 2009. Neither a patch on the Chems...

So far then, as long as Sulemana leaves, and using capology (which I know is just an indication) we have cut the following from the overall wages (using Prem wages £971k PW last year): - Lallana - £45k - Lesley - £45k - Sulemana - £40k - Onuachu - £30k - KWP - £20k 😂 - Gronbaek - £18k - Lumley - £10k So a reduction of £208k, or 22%. If we see Ramsdale, Bednarek and Aribo leave as well, that is another £260k, and would lead to a 48% reduction overall in wages, before the wage reductions kick in. https://www.capology.com/club/southampton/salaries/

That's one of the main things this Summer, getting rid of those big wages. Means we'll be in a pucker position with PSR as well.
-
Honestly, it's only Fernandes I think that will go from that. Dibling is not going to get the money we want because of his issues - there are big red flags and the main team that ignores those red flags and will have the money to spend is Chelsea, and they've been burnt by him already.
-
Agreed - I feel I'm going to enjoy this Summer.
-
It wasn't aimed at you... Sulemana for 18m is enough to get me wet...
-
It's like finding a gold bar down the back of the fucking sofa...

Fuck me

If we could combine it with national service of some sort (or at least for those out of work and claiming JSA) and you have a combination of getting the young encouraged to go out and get jobs, or go into the forces, and removing them from benefits.

We'll see - I guess the thought is that we will spend the majority here, on British made and developed defence, which means it will be far less than 5% in real cost. In addition, it will also lead to other countries investing in and purchasing from us.
-
Trump's done well to get agreement at 5% defence spending at NATO - I suspect Keir wants that as well as it should help to boost our economy. I guess we'll see how well the NATO countries hold up to that.
-
It's going to need to be something along those lines - there is no way this is getting destroyed without boots on the ground.

So all that has happened is Israel and the US have beaten a bear in a cage, have walked away thinking it's dead, but have left the cage door open. Think they're more likely than ever to build and use that bomb.
-
Apparently, imaging and fuel for nuclear subs.
-
Ok, cool, as many on here don't agree with the ICC's arrest warrant for Netanyahu.
-
We're consistently told Israel are trustworthy on this thread...

So just watched that clip - it's the most he's ever made sense 😂
