Well, he wasn't for West Ham, so not sure how you can say that. He hasn't looked PL quality, like THB.

What £6m? What CB is that buying? We needed to upgrade 8 or 9 players. How does that work with FFP? What they've done is invested in players that are good enough to get us back up, as we needed too many players to allow us to compete this season with FFP.

Who's that spine? Downes has not shown he's PL quality. So the spine consists of Ramsdale...and then?

They're not PL quality in any way - that's the issue.

How many of those are proven PL players? Downes has been poor this season, Fernandes has played less than 90 minutes, Lesley has hardly played in the PL and Dibling looks good, but had his first start today. Not sure how you can say any of them are PL players.

It's not #Martino, it's the players aren't good enough unfortunately. Gulf between PL and Championship is too big now unless you have some half decent players to start with. Downes hasn't looked like a PL player, yet he was miles too good for the Championship. I think in Baseball they call it a "quad-A" player.

I'm aware of that - but we certainly weren't the team of PL players that we were made out to be.

Considering this team, player for player, is markedly better than last year, I think Martin did an outstanding job getting us promoted last year.

Further update - seems to be working very nicely I have to say. Getting 88mb near the main hub, 25mb at the furthest reaches of the house, all for £15pm.

This is an example of the masochistic nature of the original poster. I've noticed some splits on this forum, and alongside the splits quite a few fractious spouts have broken out. I guess that's it - not many other users on the network round here (but also why I can't get decent wired Internet).

So a small update, I've invested in a cheap ID Mobile Sim (which runs on the 3 Network) and shoved it in my phone. Below is the 4G speed test which looks pretty decent. The ID Mobile deal is £15 p/m unlimited data. I have also invested in a 2nd hand unlocked LTE 4g router (the cat12 device that 3 use) for £37, so when this gets delivered next week I'll pop it all together with the mesh network and see how it goes.

That's cos Giffgaff use O2. ID Mobile is another one because it uses Three.
